New Clutch
Rick Haywood replied to ronjolly's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
yes you should replace the clutch. Maybe just need friction plates and new spring. -
Well I was wondering can those of you who decided to run a car tire tell me why you decided that. OH and also can you tell me how many miles you ride a year. My wife and I ride (2 up) about 36,000 miles a year and I have to change tires 2 times a year.

Barnett clutch ?
Rick Haywood replied to Steve S's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Just curious why a "bike" shop is asking that question of the owner of the bike. You can do the clutch yourself if you have any mechanical ability at all. Can you change your own oil, put in a light switch in the house? If so you can do the clutch -
Dan, Let's get after each other. I rejoined again today and want to drop some weight. Are you trying to drop weight or just get in better shape. Maybe we need a Venture Rider weigh in each week and see if that will motivate us. What's everyone think.

That works great for Shirley and I. We will be in Niagra Falls on May 28th and 29th and we have to come right through your area to get home so it's a plan.

2nd gen is your speedometer correct
Rick Haywood replied to motorcycle_1300's topic in Watering Hole
Most motorcycles are off about 5-7 mph depending on how fast you are going. My RSV is off about 8% also. I really don't think it will effect much on tire warranties becauses you are only talking a few hundred miles plus I never realized Motorcycle tires had mileage warranty on them. As for resale a couple thousand miles either way doesn't really change the value. -
Man............I wonder how fast he can run Bull.............I wonder how fast he can run

Increase CB amp rating in fairing aux power recepticle?
Rick Haywood replied to fredfloon's topic in GPS, Audio, Electronics
I have a battery tender so I wired up a dc aux plug with a battery tender end that I then just plug into that. I use mine for charging cell phones at night when we camp and also blowing up air mattress. Works perfect. -
I'm glad I don't look like you either...............I don't want to get blamed for the stuff you DO:whistling:
