Well if you have any that Jeff makes I would advise not eating more than a dozen or so. They must be "heavy" because after 12 or so it was hard to walk.

75 to around 125 bucks unless you are trying to heat a 30,000 square foot building I bought mine for 91 dollars at a Farm and Fleet -

my first guess is a head gasket. -
Skid.... I sort of made one from an old head set for a 3/4 helmet. I cut the speaker wires off and then I use a wire tie to hook the microphone side of my half helmet. It works great and I can listen through the bike speakers. I will show you when I get there and I also may have an extra old one laying around. I will check and bring it if you want.

I do not want to discourage you but I have been in the transportation business for 30 plus years. I started as a truck driver and worked my way up. My suggestion is to get your CDL and then find a job driving local. A newbie running OTR can expect to make no more than $350 a week bring home. That is if you are lucky. Then new guy doesn't get the good long miles he has to learn how to make the money and get experience before he can accomplish this. Let me show you. When we were trying to restructure or pay scale we found some studies done by a couple of different places The average starting wage was 34 cents per mile, the average miles per week were 2009. This was all based on the first 18 months .34 cents x 2009 = $682 per week. minus taxes x .80 lets say = $546 bring home. Now the hard part. It will cost you $20 per day to live on the road and that is if you watch your money like a hawk and carry a fridge in you truck and just absolutely refuse to spend any money. 7 days x $20 = $140 that leaves you $406 and like I said if everything works perfect for you which only happens to a small percentage of new drivers. Now if you survive the first couple of years and get with a company that cares and youmlearn how to get the miles and make money then you will be OK but remember when ever you have to wait overnight for another load you spend more money. It is really tough. Now figure everything you are going to miss out on. The stress it puts on the marriage, the problems that come up and you are not there to help fix them. And as for the travelling it is a job and it is different when you are working verses being on Vacation. That's why a say find a local job. even if you find one for $12-$13 an hour and get 50 hours a week you will come out so far ahead and you will have a life at home.

Time to discuss the 2013 International Rally
Rick Haywood replied to Freebird's topic in Watering Hole
It will not be October, they were talking about Texas. We have our annual leaf lookers rally in October so that isn't gonna work. I am thinking July sometime. But that will be discussed by all the committee members shortly. A couple of us are riding to the area tomorrow to look at accommodation and such and we will move forward from there- 101 replies

I am leaving the Peoria, Illinois area on Tuesday August 7th headed to Asheville, NC I am going to stop in Indianapolis and drop off Dano's trailer to him then head southeast on the 2 lane roads and wiggle my way through Kentucky's hill country down through Tennessee arriving sometime Wednesday afternoon. If anyone is headed that way and wants to ride let me know. Rick

hummmm looks like that lid on the trailer just might fit my trailer:confused24: you know the cracked one from the deer....................suppose Dano would notice the difference -
There is something wrong with that add. That bike is worth 18,000-20,000 dollars. 2005 1800 goldwings on 2 wheels are selling for between 10,500 and 13,500 and the trike kit installed is about 12,000 dollars or more depending on what extras you get.

I have a friend who owns a trike shop and he has some used ones for sale in great shape. I will check with him tomorrow and get back with you.

Talking on the phone and texting on the phone while driving is not a right anymore than drinking and driving is a right. I hate the government just as much as you and do not want them in my life and I also do not want to give up my liberties for safety but sometimes the right thing to do is the right thing to do. A person does not need a phone while driving for any reason. The program I am talking about will let the phone work for 911 and if you can give me a good reason why people need to die so someone can text or talk on their phone I can be convinced it should be allowed but I really see no reason that people dying is a good swap just so I/we can use a phone. Should people be allowed to use a computer or watch TV while driving?

Time to discuss the 2013 International Rally
Rick Haywood replied to Freebird's topic in Watering Hole
Well, Bryan.....with the leaf lookers in October, B2Mom and Dads in May, Dons MD IN June, Vogel in August suppose we an get this done? I guess if we did early July it would work out. Need to get with Mike and Cherie and see what they think, they have the connection if we do it in Savanna and if we do it at Orlin and Sharon"s place then we need to check out a motel that is willing to put all of us up ans maybe be a sponsor. Well I guess we shouldn't get ahead of ourselves until we see what the family wants on this board.- 101 replies

Bryan......I think we need to throw in Cherie, Lisa, Shirley, Sharon and along with them Dan and Sherrie. You know we couldn't do this without our Ladies input. Well we could but a ladies touch would just top off the festivities.- 101 replies
