It's blow-bye from running 75-85 mph for an extended length of time. It really isn't that big a deal. Mine does it sometimes after running it hard for a longgggg time. It really isn't very much oil to speak of. probably less than a few drops.

The Ventures from 1999 though 2012 are exactly the same except for color and the new one has an MP3 wire so you can plug and play your MP3 and control it. As for the difference between the 1st and 2nd gen just wait and you will get all the replies from the 1st gener's...................they are almost like the Harley riders and think they are better riders, higher class and just all around better people because they ride a 1st gen................Just funnin you 1st gener's:whistling:

I am a conceal carry person and have been for 25 years. Have never needed it and hope I don't but if I do I will use it. Thought I was going to need it at the Asheville rally when some idiot tried to run over me and then stopped and rolled his window down and explained to me that he was going to use his car to run me down. I explained that he had better think about his choice because if he made the wrong one it would really mess up his day plus there were 8 of us on bikes. He got pretty violent but a glimpse and he settled down.

I have had both at one time or another..............their customer service sucked....did I mention both customer service sucked...............I am now back with cable. Again just my opinion

I was riding back home after having lunch with a couple friends today and came as close as possible to hitting a Cement Mixer truck broad side at 60 mph. I was riding along enjoying the ride when I came upon a crossroads, traffic from the left and right had a stop sign. As I approached the intersection the truck evidently didn't see me and started across the road. I had no time to stop and I hit the horn and stayed as far right as I could and was getting ready to take it off the road. I just squeezed by with maybe a foot to spare. If I had been riding in the left track of my lane instead of the right track I would not be here to type this post. Scared the you know what out of me. As I rode on home I got to thinking about how close I was to never seeing my wife and daughter again. Man that really scared me then. I decided right then that I had better get things in order at the house so if it does happen my wife knows where the investments are and who to contact and where the life insurance is and all the other things we take for granted that we have time to cover. Ride careful.

The best thing you can do for that bike is after you change fluids and put tires on it is to ride, ride, ride. I bought a MM 2 years ago with 17,000 miles on it and one of the members said to me Ride Rick Ride, I just turned over the odometer to 80,000 miles on my way back from the Asheville rally, Enjoy it. -

I would file a claim with what ever municipality it was that was doing the paint. Tell them date, time and locations and they will pay repaint or what ever is needed just in case it won't come off. Also on the windsjield Turtle wax fine scratch remover will take the paint off and will not harm the shield.
