Fog Plugs/Cylinders or not?
Rick Haywood replied to irbk's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
I don't do anything to mine but then again mine never goes over 2-3 weeks without getting ridden at least 35-40. -

inputs on the venture's, likes and do not likes
Rick Haywood replied to gamberch's topic in General Tech Talk
I love mine, people do a bunch of complaining about a few things it doesn't have and it does handle a little tough at parking lot speeds. They seem to want to complain about it having a cassette deck and I am not sure why. The cassette is hidden and doesn't harm anything. One thing it doesn't have if you buy a brand new one is the $26,000 price tag that the bikes that have a cd player and anti lock brakes have. They are dependable and will run forever. I had a Goldwing and it was a great bike but I love my Venture more and is more comfortable. -
I hate to admit it but I did it backing out of the garage. Went to get off the bike to close the garage door and a friend pulled up and we talked for a few minutes and he left and I just went to get off the bike and thought I had put the stand down. Well I was stopped next to one of our cars and yep it fell into the front fender and did $1600 damage to it.

So Orlin what are you going to do ride a different one everyday of the leaf lookers ride
-
I did notice the movement also. I ran the 130 for 21,000 miles and am due for a new front tire before I head to the Leaf Lookers weekend in Wisconsin. I am going back to the 150 this time around to see if there was really as big a difference in highway ride and handling has I felt or believed there was. After That I will decide which size to run from here on out.
-
I went with the 130 after about 65,000 miles of the 150 and the difference in slow speed turning handling is amazing. So much easier to maneuver but did make it ride a little rougher in the front end at highway speeds.

Listen to Freebird, I switched to the synthetic on my RSV MM at around 60,000 miles and my rear blinkers became clear and slowed way down. Now I am trying to figure out a fix..

I wanted to wait a little bit til I was sure but I was getting 39/40 MPG on the RSV riding 1 or 2 up on the 2 lane roads running 60/65 by speedometer and I was getting 34/35 MPG riding 1 or 2 up running 80/85 by speedometer on the Interstates. I was in Asheville and I asked Muffinman what this color tune I had seen him do down in Vogel was all about. He explained so I had him do mine. WOW is all I can say. First off let me say I had one carb that the fuel/air mixture was WAAAAYYYY off. The first thing I noticed was how much better it ran and how much more power and quicker response it had. It was so different even the wife noticed it right off. Now here is the kicker. I rode home from Asheville (1 up)in 11.5 hours 703 miles and used a total of 18.09 gallons at speeds of 80/90 by the speedometer. That is 38.86 MPG. That was what I usually got on the 2 lanes. Now here is the even better part I have run 5 tanks through just riding the 2 lanes running over to friends houses, riding out to eat and riding up to Galena and back. I put on a total of 907 miles at speeds between 60/70 and a few miles at 80 or so ( all ny the speedometer) and I used 19.79 total gallons for a whopping 45.8 MPG. Needless to say I am ecstatic with the way the bike runs first off and am tickled with the gas mileage This was how it ran when I first bought it. I can't think Jeff enough for doing this. If you see him and your bike isn't performing like it used to I recommend you let him work his Magic.......Thank You Muffinman:thumbsup2: ps forgot to had I can now run close to 200 miles before I go to reserve used to be around 168

Are you getting emails form the International Facebook site?. Or the Venture facebook site?
-
Our intentions were to add a bunch of pictures of the area we are having the International in, Pictures of all the different things and places there are to see and do without taking up all the bandwidth on the site. For those that are against facebook or do not use it I apologize if they feel slighted but as you know by being part of this special group that was/is not our intentions.
-
Nope..........there is the rally thread on the site and we will keep everyone updated and informed of everything that is going on and all the information you will need.

I started a Facebook Page for the Venture to Galena 2013 International Rally if you want to follow the progress and pictures we will add. https://www.facebook.com/events/273807886053192/
