Just a suggestion, Think about taking US 30 from Clinton, Iowa all the way to Grand Island, Nebraska then drop down to Hastings, NE and take US 6/US 34 to Loveland, CO. Taking Interstate 80 you will not see much and the traffic runs about 85 MPH. Just a suggestion.

Leo, you could estimate when it will be time to change your oil and then suggest to a member or two close to the area that it is maybe time they had a Maintenance day at there place. Also if you didn't know Autozone carries the filter for our bikes and also has Valvoline motorcycle oil.
-
Any place that does oil changes will take the oil. Also any part store will also take it.

Hang in there brother. I know what you are going through. I went through the eye thing in 2010. Lost the vision in the left eye went through some surgeries then lost it in my right eye. All said and done I had 15 different surgeries and they cut the eyes open and went inside 9 different times. But here is the point to my story.I now have 20/30 vision for distance and 20/50 for reading so I wear readers when I read. If you go to the right specialist do what they say you can get this problem corrected. Good luck and hang in there. Rick

Blind Cashier at Bass Pro: A woman goes into Bass Pro to buy a rod and reel for her grandson's birthday. She doesn't know which one to get, so she just grabs one and goes over to the counter. The clerk was standing behind the counter wearing dark glasses. She says to him, "Excuse me, sir. Can you tell me anything about this Rod and reel?" He says, "Ma'am, I'm completely blind; but if you'll drop it on the counter, I can tell you everything from the sound it makes." She doesn't believe him but drops it on the counter anyway...... He says, "That's a six-foot Shakespeare graphite rod with a Zebco 404 reel and 10-LB. test line. It's a good all-around combination, and it's on sale this week for only $20.00." She says, "It's amazing that you can tell all that just by the sound of it dropping on the counter. I'll take it As she opens her purse, her credit card drops on the floor. "Oh, that sounds like a Master Card," he says. She bends down to pick it up and accidentally farts. At first she is really embarrassed, but then realizes......there is no way the blind clerk could tell it was her who tooted. Being blind, he wouldn't know that she was the only person around? The man rings up the sale and says, "That'll be $34.50 please." The woman is totally confused by this and asks, "Didn't you tell me the rod and reel were on sale for $20.00? How did you get $34.50?" He replies, "Yes, ma'am. The rod and reel is $20.00, but the Duck Call is $11.00, and the Catfish Bait is $3.50." She paid it and left without saying a word.

The only thing that would make them look better is if the bike had Diamond Cut heads:thumbsup2:

Sorry Jonas, I am keeping mine since I have nothing to replace it with yet. I will also more than likely keep it just in case I don't like the new one. Good Luck on the MM bidding

What was the name so I can look it up and take a peak.

James, That is to much money for a 1996 it is worth around $2000. Don't get in such big hurry and look around. You can find a really nice cruiser in the 2000 to 2004 range for under three grand. A friend just bought a 2002 1100 Shadow with 6700 miles for $2500. I will keep my eyes open. Also check out cycletrader.com Here is a 96 for $2000 http://www.cycletrader.com/listing/1996-HONDA-SHADOW-1100-105009606 Hers is a 750 which for what you are wanting it for is enough bike. It is also a gret buy and if you talk to mike he may be able to get you a better price since he is friends with them. http://www.cycletrader.com/listing/1996-Honda-VT750-MAGNA-106493010

Gas always drops right before an election. It makes people feel better and forget a bout all the other crap that has went on the last 4 years.

Rick Haywood replied to b2dad's topic in Watering Hole
When I get laid off about thanksgiving I will be watching the weather and when we get a 45-50 degree day I am going to ride down to Florida and ride around for a week or so and then watch the weather up here and when it is going to be 45 again I'll head home. -
Add a feminine napkin to help stop bleeding. This is one thing the AMA and GWRRA recommend.

Ethanol Fuel issues!!
Rick Haywood replied to af226's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
I have 86,000 miles on my 200 RSV and it has had a steady diet ethanol (not by choice) and as of now I have never had a carb problem. Of course mine never sets, I run seaform in the tank once a month and never buy cut rate gas -
