Spare Fuel for long Trip
Rick Haywood replied to alvald83's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Not sure why a person needs to carry extra fuel. would be very dangerous in an accident. I would think it If you plan the trip there shouldn't be any need. The longest stretch that I know of without any gas is Blanding UT to Hanksville Utah. 130 miles Even across hwy 50 in Nv it is only 70 miles between stops. -
I don't have an issue either Don. If you don't click on it nothing happens anyway

Probably Sonic then Wendy's After that Unless I am getting just Coffee I avoid McDonald's as in my opinion their food tastes all the same, Grease and Onions.

Well let's see the government agencies are buying millions of rounds for who knows what reasons (wink wink) and the american people can't buy any ammo. Makes a person wonder. Guns seem to be worthless without ammo.

I need BIGGER mirrors ?????
Rick Haywood replied to FuzzyRSTD's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
Fuzzy here is a set on ebay. Good shape but may have to use your old stems. You will like these if you try them. Also they are anti vibration so things are clear. http://www.ebay.com/itm/97-03-Honda-Valkyrie-Interstate-GL1500CF-Chrome-rear-View-Mirrors-/200890663384?hash=item2ec60441d8&item=200890663384&pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&vxp=mtr -
I need BIGGER mirrors ?????
Rick Haywood replied to FuzzyRSTD's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
I had a set and didn't like them, a .little cheap in my opinion. Find a set off a Honda Valkyrie they are a little tinted and just have a tiny bit of convex to them. It is what I run because of all the eye issue i have had and I love them. try and buy used because OEM is like $50 apiece. I also will look and see but I might have a set of the ones you are looking at on ebay and if I do you can have them if you want to try them. -
Anyone ride a RSV on I-40 from NC through smoky mountains to TN?
Rick Haywood replied to Barrycuda's topic in Watering Hole
There are so many better roads to ride than the interstate Take the Blue Ridge Parkway it is a ride you will never forget. And since you are so close you should do deals gap and the dragon just so you can say you were there. -
Won't even look at anything else. love mine

I made a trailer out of a small john boat trailer with 8 inch tires and hauled mine from Illinois to Florida with no problems

Has anyone heard anything from Scooter Bob lately? Most of the group I hang/ride with haven't heard from him since October of last year and also see he hasn't been on the site since first part of November. Just wondering we are a little worried about him. Rick

Annie, sorry to here about the scooter. Here is a link to the dealer who did the work when we towed it in down in Ten. in August of 2011 just in case Harley doesn't have the record of it. http://www.thundercreekharley.com/index.htm

GPS or GO WITH THE FLOWWWW...........
Rick Haywood replied to YamahaWoodsey's topic in Watering Hole
Go through Indianapolis towards Bloomington, Il then take either I 39 north towards Peru Il. and then wander the 2 lanes to the galena area or I-74 towards Davenport Iowa and go north. Or you can come to our house and ride up with me ant the wife and Mike (eusa1) and his wife and a few others. -
Man You didn't give Mike (eusa1) your phone number did ya and tell me you didn't talk to him on the phone He'll never go away now:rotf: Just funnin ya Mike is a good friend of mine and welcome to the mental hospital where we (the patients) run the show.

My First Venture
Rick Haywood replied to YamahaWoodsey's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Dan don't you just walk next door to get to DQ:confused24: -
Before I bought a Venture and Joined here the only thing I use to do on bikes was oil changes. With the help and info from these guys and gals here I know do most everything to my bike. Also I have needed help and friends I have made here have come running to help. In fact 6 or 7 couples we have meet on this board have become lifelong friends and one of them even rents out my house when we are travelling to other members on this board.............of course with out our knowledge so he doesn't have to split the money.

This is the one you want, fastest year and the purdiest one LOL:whistling: All joking aside they are a great machine. We love ours and we ride about 30,000 miles a year trouble free. Very comfortable for rider and passenger. I will warn you about one thing. If you buy one you will end up on this site all the time and will have people coming to help you with things and you will make great new friends. Other than that it's a great site:rotf:

except it is not as comfortable to ride and your passenger has very little room,
