Keep the faith !!! I went to the sidecar before I had my right knee and hip replaced. It worked out great for me. I'll have my left knee done the end of this year. Even that I can ride a 2 up bike I like riding the hack. Best of luck with your surgery. Its got to be better then what you are feeling now.

Shock absorber - test add air
SteveW replied to 2Flights's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
This is what I do to set the air pressure in my shocks. I use my air compressor. I have a regulator on it and turn the air pressure down to 5 lbs. or so. Then I let the air out of my rear shock. I check my pressure by adding air to the rear shock and checking it with a pressure gauge. ( I don't trust the regulator gauge reading) When I have 5 lbs in the rear shock. ( I check this a few times ) so I know the regulator pressure is right. Then I air up my front shocks with this setting. Then increase the air pressure with the regular on the compressor and air up the rear shock to the pressure I want. It works for me and I have never blown out a seal. -
Great news Lewis Tell Charlene It will be sore for awhile but when its all healed up she will forget it ever happened and feel great. Steve

The Day Long is the same seat height as the pillow top. But its wider and has way more support.

Well I'm 6ft 7 and have had the burn between the shoulder blades. I have the baron Risers and love it. Also I thing the seat has a lot to do with the way my shoulders feel. Since I put on the Russel Day Long seat last year I have not had any more shoulder burn. I took it to Fl. to see the kids 690 mile in 11 hours and felt great when I got there. The RDL seat lets me sit back off the Tank and with the backrest and risers it works great for me. Even having the sidecar on the bike ( which really makes you work the arms and shoulders in the twisties. Still no more pain.)

We went there about 5 years ago and the same rule then no bikes. Its a private park and they can do what they want. They sent a tram down to the gate to pick us up and it was worth the trip. The bad part was it took the tram about an hour to come get us to go back to the gate and get the bikes.

Had the same problem. Now I have the wife ride in the sidecar. ( she was beating on me )

Tell your son congrats Harry and don't give him any back talk LOL. Have a safe trip and tell him we are pulling for him.

I would run the pressure up to 40 front and 45 rear. We have a bunch of tar snakes around here and when its hot its like riding on ice. Just slow it down some and try to stay off of them when ever you can. I can even feel them with the sidecar on but it doesn't matter cause I'm not going anywhere on 3 wheels.

There is no reason why it would not work. You have the 4 attaching points and can make up mounting brackets. I even made a trailer setup for mine so I can take the slidein camper, truck and bike at the same time.

what about getting one from pinwheel cycles and cut that one. Then if you don't like it you can always put the stock one back on. Might be a cheaper way to go.

Oh darn Harry only 2 Ventures that is ruff !! LOL Now you can clean only 2/3 the time. The only decision is which one to ride with all the extra riding time.

Hope you feel better soon and take care of yourself. Dennis said anytime you want to go flying just come on up. I want to say thanks to all who showed up and for all the help everyone did pitching in. I hope everyone got what they needed done. Don't be strangers and stop by any time for a cup of coffee and a visit. -
Triple Tree modification
SteveW replied to peterbooth's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Try it first without doing the mod. My sidecar handles fine the way it is. A friend had the rake done on his Harley when he installed his sidecar and its about the same as my 2005 stock for steering. -
Don If you take it to a PPG paint dealer they can color gun it and get you the best match you can get. Thats what I did for my 99 and also the 06 blackcherry.
