Hi all !! Well it just so happens I just painted one in the Dark Blueish Gray Mat.#8 and will know for sure by next week if it an exact match to the lowers for the 2008. It should be since its the code # given by Yamaha. ( I just want to make sure ). I also now have the 2000 MM color for a lower match paint and the 2006 Black Cherry.

Thanks Steve I try to do the best I can and get all the orders filled and shipped as soon as possable. This is a one man shop and thats me. I will be going in to see about getting a hip and knee replacement done in a couple of weeks. I guess that will lay me up for a while but its getting so its hard to walk and ride. ( thats the main reason I put the hack on my Bike ) I'll post on my web site and here when I have to stop taking orders. Not to worry the orders I have now I will have shipped when I told you they will be shipped. Ride Safe Everyone

I designed this grill to work with the stock 99 RSV. I have run my bike without air in the front shocks without it ever hitting the Grill ( however to be on the safe side ) I recomend keeping 6 lbs. of air in the shocks. Just incase you hit a big hole in the road. Being where it is and getting alot of road rash from the front tire it might have some nicks in it from things being throne up from the road just like the lowers get.( at least they are not hitting the radiator ). Some have added a rear mudflap and stopped this problem. If you haved lowered the front end then don't buy my Grill. By lowering the front end you will let the rear fender tip travel another inch closer to the radiator. I'm not sure in a panic stop or over a large pot hole if that would make it hit the radiator the way it comes from the factory or not but it would hit my Grill. The chrome Grills lay flat to the Radiator however I don't see them with the large opening in the metal giving much protection. Like I said before I designed mine to protect the radiator and not just for looks. I have been making these Grills for over 8 years now and have changed the design by lowing the profile of the grill to 1 inch or less. There are many people with my grill that have not had a problem. Why put air shocks on a bike if your not going to use them . I like the way it handles with some air in the shocks. it makes the steering better at low speeds and doesn't nose dive when you hit the brakes.

Brian since you are not happy with the Grill and have taken it off your Bike I will buy it back. Sorry you had a problem with it and believe me its more for protection then just cosmetic. I got back from 1200 miles this week and had a small stone come off the back of the trailer of a truck that passed me. When I was washing my bike I noticed a dent in the metal mess of the grill about 1/2 inch in dia. and 1/8 of an inch deep. Not sure if it would have taken out the radiator but I'm sure it would not have done it anygood. Just mail it back to me and I'll mail you a check when I get it. I might as well state this here again. If you have lowered your bike don't buy my Grill, if you don't want to keep any air in the front fork don't buy my grill. I have lowered the profile of the grill to just about the max in the last year and have not had any problems ( at least that I know of ) If someone doesn't write me I'm not a mind reader. I try to make the best quality product I can and the last thing I want is someone being dissatified with it.

I have the same light that came on my sidecar fender. You might try the Champion sidecar site or I'm pretty sure I have seen them at a Harley shop. -
My Wagner Grill in Millennium Color!
SteveW replied to Cougar's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Hi Brian I wish if you have a problem with the Grill you would have let me know. I do have a couple of questions for you. First have you lowered you front end and do you carry any air in your front shocks ? Since I have lowered the profile of the grill a few years ago I haven't had anyone write me with a touching problem. Also I did post not to use my grill if you lower the front of the bike as it takes away about an inch of clearance. Sorry you have had a problem with my grill. email me when you get a chance. -
I was going to hook the damper to the front fender but just didn't like the look . This way its just about on a 90 degree to the steering head and is more or less hidden out of the way. It works and that is what I was looking for.

Sorry for taking so long with the Pic's but this is how I mounted my steering damper for my sidecar. I used 3/16 steel 1and 1/2 " w. and bent it so it would come up and clear the lower faring. I did have to trim about 1/2 inch off my clear windeflector on the upper faring so it would clear over the damper. I made a bracket about 3 inches long to mount to the steering head to hook the moving end of the damper. This you will just have to bend till it clears. It works great but is a real close fit ( about 1/4 inch clearance to the steering head and the bike frame. ) I played with this design a couple of days before getting it right. I could ride without it but the bike steering is much better with the damper on ( almost no steering shake at any speed. ) No problem riding from start with one hand now. If I can answer and questions on this build give me a call. Steve 770-630-0973

I had a damper that came with the car but had to make up my own mounting system for it. I had alot of steering shake at low speed with out it but now I can drive with one hand from start to stop. ( it really helps ). I'll try to get a pic of what I made up tomorrow and post it.

I have one on my 2005 and in the twisties it is work. If you rake the frontend it makes it easier to stear but then you have to have the sidecar on it to ride. Give me a shout if I can help answer and questions. I have about 3000 miles on mine now and really like it.

I have the same tire sitting in my garage right now I just haven't had a chance to put it on yet. I'm glad to see it fits Ok. I was going to go with the 165 - 80 - 15" but the circumfrance was over an inch more so I went with this size. I have a sidecar on my 2005 so I don't have to worry about leaning in turns. The tire stays flat to the road surface. Now I hope I can get more then 5,000 miles out of the rear tire.

The 81 is getting there I'm just waiting on some parts so I can start putting it back together. The paint work is done and the engine has been cleaned and repainted. I am changing the turnsignals and replacing the fork seals. I'll post some pic's when its done next week.

Nappa or any good auto paint store that has the color gun should match the paint. All the past colors on the ventures are old Auto colors. the Black Cherry for the 06 turns out to be 1967 Wineberry Chysler paint. They don't invent a new color just pick old colors and rename them. I agree with Redneck I would go to a nappa store and look thur there paint chip book and pick a black or color you like.
