Well I went to see the Doc. today and he said the hip is doing great and set up my surgery for my rt. knee replacemnt for Sept.3rd. I have recived a few orders for Grills and have 10 grills (not spoken for ) that I will have ready to ship before my surgery. I am not going to take down my no orders at this time on my web site. I am offering these Grills to members of this site on a first come first serv . I will be making them again after the end of Oct. so not to worry if you decide to get one down the road. Thanks to everyone for all your support and I hope this will be the last time to go under the knife for a long time. Please email me direct at steveww1@alltel.net if you would like to place an order or call me first at 770-630-0973. Ride Safe Steve

Glad to hear you got through that one Ken. Sorry to hear about your accident but it sounds like in time you will heal ok and in the meantime just take it slow. Bikes can be replaced and the ins. co will probably try to low ball you just stick to your guns. Take it easy brother and stay on the mend.

Hi Ronnie Thanks for posting that you are doing great. I have talked to a few people who have had their knees done and it sounds like its the way to go. Now that the hip feels good I'm looking forward to having the knee feel the same way. My knees has been bad for 8 years now and not going to get better by itself. Riding pain free would be great. Steve

I have a friend that need the knee replacement done also and he is waiting untill I get mine done to see how it goes . LOL I don't mind being the test subject it been hurting so long it will be worth it to not hurt anymore.

I guess I don't have much choice in taking it easy the wife took my car keys since I drove up to the mailbox yesterday. I am hoping to get back to work on the Grills in 3 weeks but I'm not going to push it. I don't want to have them have to do this again. I'm getting around pretty good with a cane and that makes sitting around worse. We will see what the Doc. says on the 14th and with luck I get out of the house now and then . I think I'll ask about a Chrome Knee ( can't have to much Chrome ) LOL You all take care and I'll keep you all posted. Ride Safe Steve

Well its been 2 weeks since my hip replacement and I want to thank all of you that wished me well. ( Thanks !!!! you guys are great ) They took out the staples today and are letting me hobble around with a cane. It is really hard not to head up to the shop and get working again. Sitting around has never been my thing. The hip has healed great and I how have no pain in it at all. The bad thing is I will have to have the right knee replaced in Oct. ( Its a B..... getting old and falling apart ). I'm hoping I get the go back to work word from the Doc. on the 14th of Aug. I can handle a couple more weeks but just resting up and not being able to ride is the pitts. I hope everyone is having a great time out there on the open roads and keeping it safe. Have Fun and keep it between the ditches. Steve

I hope you all have a great time we have gone there often and the Lake Lure boat tour is worth taking. I would give anything to be able to ride up there and meet everyone. I am starting to walk some with a cane today so I hope to be able to park the walker and get around alittle better. Have a fun time and ride safe

Just wanted to let everybody know that my hip surgery seems to have gone well...sore as all get out now, but I am sure it will get better. This about ruins the rest of my riding season, but there's always next year. Hope everybody has a safe riding season...stay healthy and keep it between the ditches.

Sweet you will have a blast with the Hack. We really like ours. Its a totaly different way of riding.

I think you will like the steup with the champion sidecar. It takes some getting use to but now I would'nt take it off. I'm will be using a 155-80r 15 inch tire for the rear as soon as my bike tire wears out . I haven't found a tire for the front or hack yet but will be looking in a monthe or so.
Have fun and I keep 100 lbs, in the floorboard of the hack at all times. I'm not looking to fly the hack.

My Driveway it long and down hill from the paved road and all gravel. What works for me is if youe are going down hill keep it in first and take it slow ( only use back brake ). Going uphill I let my legs dangle at the side of the bike just off the ground and keep the throttle up so the bike does not stall. a few have droped their bikes at the top of my drive because the bike stalled and they grabed the front brake.

When we do the twisties and I'm in a group I just drop back to last place and take my sweet time. Its a lot more fun that way. I also carry 2 steel plates in the floorborad under the carpet for a better ride and keepin the rig stable ( 100 lbs. total ) Being the sec. gen's are top heavy anyway and weigh so much I like the extra weight in the hack.

Hi Greg Well all I can say is that since I have put the sidecar on my 2005 I would not take it off. Like you I had to come up with some creative hookups. All in all I like the way it handles and have alittle over 8,000 miles on my rig. It does take some getting use to and in the twisties it can wear you out .

I still don't know what you beef is as you have never contacted my with the problem you say you have with my grill. I feel anyone should be contacted first before going ahead and airing your opinion on an open forum with out giving me a chance to buy the grill back if you were not happy with it. Also being you have not responded to me personally when I said I would buy the Grill ( or sent the Grill back to me ) There isn't much I can do about it. You do not feel that you should ride with air in the front forks which is fine by me. ( I have 0 air in my forks and the grill has never been hit ). I am really getting tired of anything that falls off or is wrong or seems wrong with the front end of a 2nd Gen should first be checked to make sure you don't have a Grill on your bike. I have been making these Grills for 10 years now and yes I have had to make modifictions in hieght and clearance over the years. However if there were any problems and I was contacted about them I took care of them. I do not post on every topic on this or any other site ( as I don't know everything about everything ). I do know my product and have many satified customers. I will say it again if there is a problem and no one contacts me I can't do much about it. Mail me the grill back and I'll refund you money. !!!!!!!!!

I have had the front fender cap cover loose a bolt on the left side and replaced both bolts and nuts and used locktight. the bottom fender tip was fine but I used locktight on those bolts also.

Well I saw the Doc today and he is setting up the surgery time. Looks like the second week in July just in time for my birthday ( what a great way to spend that ) LOL. Well the rt. hip is shot ( full joint replacement with cermic's ) and both knees will need to be done in the future. ( Just what I wanted to be the bionic man ) LOL. I have healed fast in the past with the loss of my kidney so I hope this will go the same way . Thanks everyone for the best wishes and in my recoop time I'll be able to spend more time on here and Bug you all !!!!!!! No OLD falling apart comments or I'll hit you with my cane:backinmyday: and chase you down with my walker. Keep the rubber side down and the sunny side up and miles of smiles to everyone. To be continued. Steve:backinmyday::backinmyday:

Thanks Guys Its something I'm not looking forward to haveing done. But I am tired of hurting all the time when I walk. Sorry I don't have any extra Grills made up Bob but I'll be making more as soon as I can get around better. What I have is now spoken for and not enough time to get anymore made. I'm going to try to get in some riding time this weekend and next weekend. That will pretty much shoot my summer. The only good thing is it hot as H in my shope and its way to hot to paint and make grills. So maybe this is the best time to have everything done and try to get me fixed up. I'll be on more after the surgery and I'll keep you posted. Take a long ride for me everyone and enjoy the summer.
