  2. Only 4 bullets ( Come On )
  3. I do it to make sure the Bike is still running :rotfl::rotfl:
  4. Sorry to say that is the only source for the shock. An air shock is not available for it. I spent days on the net looking for a friends bike. The new shock helped but would still bottom out on a real hard dip when fully loaded and 2 up.
  5. Nope no salvage title its a one owner bike with 91,000 miles. Was a trade in on a Goldwing. ( thats only 11,000 miles a year.) I put way more then that on mine a year.
  6. This is one sweet looking 2001 With all the extras. 1291338926 Craigs list motorcycles venture 2001 $3999.00
  7. Sounds like mine did ( it was the #3 coil breaking down under load ) Replaced coil and its runnung great.
  8. I have my stock one in good shape. I'm about 3 hours away from him in cleveland ga.. I'm tied up tomorrow and Sat. so I can't get it up to him but if he can come down here we can put it on in my shop. He is welcome to it. my # is 770-630-0973
  9. SWEET !!!!!! Real nice job ( enjoy it ) I'm sure you will.
  10. Just because some of my work isn't perfect is no reason to make fun of it !! LOL
  11. This is great dealing with my stealer. My rear shock started dumping oil this weekend annd after talking to my Stealer he said ( we can replace it but it takes most of the day and they have to remove everything rear of the gas tank to replace it ) Like I want them working on my Ride !!!!! I told them its a 30 min. job and nothing has to be removed but the saddle bag and the shock. I guess I need to show them how to replace one. I HATE DEALING WITH PEOPLE THAT DON"T KNOW HOW TO WORK ON THESE BIKES !!!
  12. I had a metz 880 only 3 days old that picked up a nail ( just my luck ). I plugged it and added Ride-On to the tire. Got 10,000 miles out of that rear tire without any problems.
  13. Another reason to have a sidecar !! Lock up the rear brake all you want ( It stops great with the CT on it )
  14. Good Job Boss we will take a couple when they are ready !!! Black with pocket
  15. Hi Dan You have the same ride as I do. 82 maxium 750. When I rebuilt mine this past winter I noticed that I had a bad connection in the fuse box under the seat. It would not turn over. Cleaned the contacts and repaired the one fuse holder and it works fine now. If thats where it is its an easy fix. Steve
  16. Just a thought ! What about getting a used 2nd gen basket and taking it to a machine shop and having the gear teeth polished. Or just take off the sharp edge of the teeth. Wonder if anyone has tried this ? BTW I'm using Yamaha Lube semi syn 20-50 and not much of a difference when it gets hot with the whine.
  17. Thats the hard way to get full range of motion out of your knee. Mine has been done for 6 months now and it works great just can't kneel down on it for any length of time. It will get better just keep working on it and keep it loose. You might want to have a friend on the ladder for awhile. Take Care Steve
  18. Sure Jeff give me a shout I'm doing nothing right now 770-630-0973
  19. I'm doing great the hip and knee are like new and I haven't felt this good in years. A few of the guys have had a bad #3 coil Rt. rear so I thought I would start with the rear coils and see what happened. Also the rear coils are the ones that get all the heat and ex-poser. I have thought about taking the hack off now that I'm all healed up but I like it to much to do that. LOL I picked up a 82 750 Maxim that I rebuilt and ride it when I want to ride a 2 wheeler. Steve
  20. Hi Jeff My coils i took out tested Ok when I tested them with a volt meter. ( they were cold ) I got the used ones on ebay 4 for 39.00 from pinwheel cycles. I got my 05 used with 19,000 miles on it and it never felt right since I got it. ( power wise ). my 99 never felt this way. The rear coils are located between the battery and the rear of the engine. I took off the 2 rear side covers above the rider floor boards and the middle piece between them. I took out the coolant overflow tank and then you can see them. ( just follow the plug wires ). You have to work from the top and from under the bike to remove them. Leave the bracket that holds them and just unbolt them from it. While you have the overflow tank out its a good time to clean it and replace the fuel filter. My guess is when the coils got hot they would break down and not give off the proper spark. The bike ran fine when first taken out but within a few miles became slugish in 5th gear. It worked for me and not it runs like my 99 did. It will still bog down some if you put it in 5th below 50 but before I changed the coils it would bog down if I was doing 80 and put it in 5th gear. I replaced both rear coils because I was there and why replace only one. I think it a bad place to install coils. to much heat from the engine and to open to water from the rode in the rain. It took me about an hour to change them out. Hope this helps. Steve
  21. Hi Jeff I had the same thing with my sidecar. I ended up replacing my rear coils with some I got off of ebay. It seems one of the rear coils was breaking down under load when hot. The plugs all looked good when I changed them but in 5th gear under 70 the power just wasn't there. Since the switch I can drop into 5th gear at 50 with out a problem. Steve
  22. Take care of that leg !! Maybe its time to put a sidecar on it. ( its great when your on long trips ) you can carry lots of stuff. Is it the knee giving out ? Get well soon Steve
  23. It was nice meeting you Randy. Since your only some 30 odd miles away stop by any time, I'll have coffee on next time. Always nice when I get a chance to install one and see it as a finished job. Ride Safe and see you soon Steve
  24. Gee Rooster I was hoping to not be the only one at Vogel with a sidecar. Are you still going to make it to the rally ?
  25. Hi Lewis I will be donating a gift certificate for one of my grills for the rally. I will bring it with me on wend. when I come. In 07 I had a black grill but now that I have more colors it will be for any color I paint and I will mail it to the winner. Hope this helps See you there Steve
