  1. It's inside the frame behind the goose neck, you really can't see but a corner of it. Can't get a hand in there. to much of the cooling system in the way.
  2. Hasn't been removed because it pretty much impossible to get to it with out removing half the cooling system.
  3. Where do I find the pickup coil connector?
  4. OK, so this is what I've eliminated. Fuel to carbs no problem pumps working, tip over switch, I jumped it and still not firing, ignition switch, change it out to the old one. Everything on the bike works, just no spark. I'm thinking it is the igniter/tci or what ever they call it. If you got anything please share.
  5. If it was the kill switch the started would not turn over. Simple and stupid would be nice, if only I can find it.
  6. I checked for the dangling relay and it is attached as it should be. I didn't hit the pot hole, I swerved hard to the right to avoid it. Maybe enough g force to activate the tip over? I don't see how that could happen, but who knows.
  7. I disconnected it to see if it would make a difference. No change, so now I will jumper it and see what happens.
  8. I disconnected the fuel line at the carbs and turned the key on then hit the kill switch and the pump pumped gas out. So the carbs are full of gas. So the gas problem is eliminated. has to be spark or a safety switch. I disconnected the tip over switch and it will still turn over but still not start. I'm leaving for work soon, will have to wait till morning to work on it. I going to try bypassing the tip over switch and see if that works. Funny thing, after disconnecting the tip over switch and cleaning with electric cleaner then reconnected it, it fire for half of a second. Maybe on to something?
  9. I know. I can smell it all the way down here, lol, thanks Carl.
  10. Never mind, I found it. For future reference, It is inside the frame above the radiator, under the ignition switch. the hole to access it is to small to get your hand inside. The only reason I found it was I looked for the plug. the plug is under the right side neck cove. A gray 2 wire plug.
  11. Did you ever find out what it was?
  12. Where on the 2nd gen is the bank angle/emergency stop/ tipover/ what ever it's call switch/sensor??? has anyone actually put eyes on it? I hear it's a very elusive critter.
  13. Had this happen last year, now have new switch and connections.
  14. Can't be the ground, everything works, the starter is getting plenty of juice.
  15. you forgot the fourth thing... air. It no longer starts, now it just turns over with no veroom. It has to be spark. It can't be the coils, maybe one or two will go bad, but not all 4 at the same time. could it be a relay? I'm lost right now.
  16. New to me. Had only 3000 mile on the bike it cam off of. Everything work as it should when key is in on position. As I said it will start then shut down after a second or two.
  17. The gas is good, I took a sample, no water or sediment. If it were gas it wouldn't just shut off. It runs fine when it run and just shuts down. Will not start again un till it sits for a while. will only run for a second or two then shuts off like hitting the kill switch. It's a ignition or electrical problem.
  18. You know, that's not a bad idea. Will have to wait till tomorrow.
  19. I think your right, it should reset, but maybe because it's so old "99" and never activated before, maybe stuck or shorted out due to corrosion. I'm going to take a look at it tomorrow. Form what I found on another post it is behind the right side neck cover.
  20. Ok, back to my problem. I posted more info over on 2nd gen tech talk. It's not the fuel pump. Please read post on tech talk. Any and all help will be appreciated.
  21. I put everything back together, the pump works fine. It will fire up for about 1 second then die, just like someone hit the kill switch. Is their a safety shutoff switch on these bikes that shut off the bike when they are laid down.
  22. Ok, like I said in my other post the bike stopped running while doing 25-30 mph in town. Thought it was the fuel pump, but now I don't think so. It fired up a couple of times and would run for a few second and just stop like hitting the kill switch. If it were gas it would spit and sputter like its running out of gas. Today I bypassed the pump and would not start, not even a sputter. I made sure fuel was flowing from the tank to the carbs. I pulled one drain plug on one of the carbs and gas drained out. Also plugged the pump in and it did cycle. So its not a gas problem. Just before the first time it died on the road I swerved hard to miss a large pot hole and it died with in seconds??? Any ideas? Keep in mind its a RSV trike.
  23. OEM had to cost big$$ or did you find a used pump?
  24. Yep, seen that post here some time ago. I will probably do that after I find a new pump.
