Got a run around from the local chrome shops.plus it's not all that cheap.seems like they dont' want to deal with a small job like this.anywayThis was a lot easier.don't know yet what I'm doing with the set I have.Maybe I can sell them for $272.00 and recoop my losses. -

Don't know why it says K&N filters are required with billet covers.I have billet covers now and stock filters, they fit just fine.My billet covers came with the bike, used 99,with 41000 on it.the chrome is peeling off on mine thats way I was bidding on this set. What sucks is after I placed my bid, believing a new set would cost$438.00 plus s&h,i found them at several on line stores for around $340.00.:yikes:Looks like everthing for the rsv is being discontinued.Which tells me the bike is being discontinued.Anyway,I did save a couple bucks by winning the bid.But not much.Hopefully there will be a set of k&n filters with them. That would help lesson the sting. -
We used it.Works well as long as someone in your past kept good records. It relys heavely on past censes, keep in mind the 1890 or 1900 censes was destroyed in a fire can't remember now witch one.makes it diffacult to work around it.It is alot of fun,and alot of work.Took us several months just to go back to 1700's.It did fill in a lot of blanks in our family tree. Also don't relly on correct spelling of the names you are looking for.We thought we were at a dead end when my wife made a slip in spelling my great grand fathers last name. That slip opened up info we never knew.

The covers are still available, around $450.00.the ones here are not broken.just a bad picture.theirs also a good chance there is K&N filters inside.I hope so, since I have high bid. This is nothing, you won't believe what a set of chrome frame covers went for a couple weeks ago, over $250.00,and no I didn't win that bid,but I did make the other guy pay big for them. There not available through retail anymore. -
No one has hit on the obvious. It's the producers wife coming out of Chaplins dressing room.she realizes she's on film, puts her hand to her face to hide ,and knows she's been busted. If you watch her lips you can just make out, S#!T I'M SCREWED!:rotfl::rotfl:

21 years in the Navy, worked in the engine rooms, they were steam powered back then. The guys that worked for me said that when I was pissed at them, that i had a full head of steam up....It's a Navy thing:think:

Not the final drive.I had to change my final drive, whine was still there,so was the chirp.I believe the whine and the chirp is one in the same problem. It comes from the clutch or tranny.

harley is an american icon just like John Deere. It's as american as apple pie and yankee doodle. It has nothing to do with the produce,It's all about being associated with the name.It says look at me I'm an american.Probably 90% of the people wearing HD and JD products don't actually own a HD cycle or JD tractor.Thats my 2 cents.

How much mileage is too much on a used Venture?
steamer replied to Humbucker's topic in Watering Hole
Your right about letting them sit not being good for them.I bought my 99 in july this year with 41000 miles on it,for $5700.00, It had set around for most of the previous 2years.It ran like crap at first.Had to do a lot of maintenence to get her running like she should.Have 44000 on her now and running much better thanks to all the how to advise I found here.Look at it this way humbucker even if you don't like your new venture at least you have all these great folks her to thank. -
I don't have this problem...before I got the venture I couldn't get the wife on my 900lt said she wasn't comfortable, the the seat was to hard, not enough back support. Now when i get home from work I find her in her leathers ready to go riding. And you thought I was going to say something else, didn't u.:rotfl:Get your mind out of the gutter.

Humbucker,It seems obvious to me that the rsv is going to be your next bike,so go get one!

Cassette Deck, why do you have a problem with MORE options?
steamer replied to LilBeaver's topic in Watering Hole
Yamaha is doing what ever other company is doing in this economy. They are making products that are functional and low priced to fill the needs of those who need that product. They are doing what they have to to ride out the storm.when the economy bounces back, and it will, then watch out because their will be a flood of top end, high quality ,high priced goodies all over the place.Including a new gen 3 or what ever touring bike from yamaha. The only reason kawasaki came out with a new touring bike at the worse possible time was because it was in development for years before the economy took a dive.they were committed.change is inevitable. So lets just wait and see. -
Isn't this place great? All you have to do is mention the word cassette and everybody goes nuts.:shock3::starz:you guys sure are a lot of fun.

As I said previously the more I ride this bike the more I like it.With that said,I have to agree with those who would like to see up grades and improvements. One guy said he parked his new bike next to a "99" and it was the same.As far as the look of the bike, thats ok with me.The bike is a great classic looking bike.I hope they never make any major changes to the classic design. How ever,it is time to make them more efficient, safer and better handling.I don't think anyone here wants a jetson mobile. If they do then go buy a vision. PS.i do hope they keep the jetson sound. -

I ride my rsv because my wife and I injoy it.It has enough power to haul our fat butts around. Heck,I can't figure out how to operate the dang sound system controls on this thing anyway:think:We injoy just riding and talking.Thats right I said it,I talk to my wife.I had to say that, she's going to read this.:whistling:Anyway, would i like EFI,belt drive, abs and a top of the line boom box? Of course i would.I can only believe that if yamaha wants to compete in the touring bike business, they will come out with a gen3 that will blow away the competion. If not than I can rest easy in knowing there will be a lot of low milage, low cost 2nd gens around for a long time.:thumbsup2:the more we ride our bike the more we love it.So i say, love it or leave it. -
shoulda come over our way.Picked up robin from work around 1:30 went down to the windmill to pick up her new chaps, so her delicate legs won't get cold.rode down through watkins glen, then up along seneca lake back to home base.lots of clouds but no rain:whistling:
