  1. OK, so here's what I know so far,Which my wife says is very little. Anyway,What I know is that when someone says " I just had it fully serviced" Translation, I just payed hundreds of dollars for an oil change. If the place he took it to did more then that I'll kiss thier mufflers. Carb sync needs to be done in a big way. Carbs probably need cleaning and setting. Everything needs to be lubed. Tire pressures were way to high. All fluids need to be changed. The good news is, it seems to be a sound trike,no major problems that I can find. Of course I just finished getting the silver beast (other RSV) just about perfect, and now I have to start all over with this one. Well at least I know what I,m doing now....OK stop laughing.
  2. that do look nice.
  3. I wish it were that easy. It's just a bad paint job.The paint is flacking off,so I will probably remove all the paint and start over or look fo a cheap set of covers. My othe bike has chrome cover, but I quess you can't get them anymore. I think on this bike I want to stay with the black. It looks good.
  4. That would be the plan.
  5. I've sent many of my boot fireman up to the bridge to stand mail boey watch. CO would chew me out everytime. It was worth it. of course theres only a few of us here that knows what I'm talking about. Most of the time I don't know what I'm talking about.
  6. It is a Motortrike. As for the blacked out fins, it is a hack job.One of the prvious owners didn't know the fins can be removed. He painted them in place. So now I have to replace them or repaint them. Off the bike of course. I also have to remove the over spray on the motor and chrome. No big deal ,a little elbow grease will take care of it.
  7. My new to me 99 RSV Trike.
  8. Do not lower if possible. My 99 came with the lowering kit,it was great that I could put my feet flat on the ground, but I wasn't crazy about the handling. I removed the lowering kit and wow what a difference in handling and I can still touch the ground with both feet.Just can't flat foot it anymore. I have no problem holding up the bike. Once you get use to the weight, you don't think about it anymore, no big deal. It just take some time.
  9. Have you thought about triking your venture? It would be a lot less $$ then the triglide and much more comfy.
  10. Yep,rear shock is history. So here I sit waiting to drop $12000.00 our new to us trike, which will be delivered Wednesday, and what do I see when I went into the garage to remove the Voyager trike kit for the last time from the Silver beast. You got it, oil on the floor. I planed on riding it to work tomarrow. Now on top of paying for the new trike, I have to come up with $500.00 plus for a shock! Anyone out there have a good used shock cheap, that will keep me going for a while?
  11. As Robin call's it.On our way home from a nice 130 mile ride. We were about 5 miles from home, coming up on a 4 way. We had a yellow flashing light, the cross road had a stop sign. An old gezzer about 85 to 90 years old, can barely see over the steering wheel. He came to a complete stop.He is on our right, both of us are looking right at him.He never looked to his right or left, just straight ahead. He sits there at least 2-3 seconds. I'm thinking because he's not moving he must have seen us. NOPE,he pulls out, heads staight across our path. All I can say is thank god for the trike kit.I locked them up good. All you can hear is screeching tires and the smell of rubber. with all that noise he still doesn't look our way.Maybe a good thing he didn't,he may have panicked and hit his brakes.we would have T boned him for sure. The trike kit kept us up. I'm sure we would have gone down without it. All in all it was a very nice ride.
  12. I went to Lowes picked up a couple standard size nylon wing nuts and cross threaded them on the stud's.Nice and tight, easy on easy off. cost about a buck.
  13. Put a trike kit on it and you will never get her off of it...Thats what happened to me.
  14. Last year was my wife first exparence riding 2 up.we are both large people.450 lbs plus. The riding wasn't the problem,it's the stopping that will get you. These bikes are a bear to hold up with all that combined weight. I guess what i'm trying to say is,pay close attention to what you are doing when coming to a stop. Use the friction zone combined with a little rear brake. It really works.Don't ask me how I learned all this about stopping.
  15. same thing with the 2nd gen.much quieter also.
  16. More pic's of my soon to be, new to me, 99 RSV Motortrike.
  17. here's a pic of my future trike,If all goes well.
  18. I'm looking for any history on this trike.would anyone here know who may have owned this trike. I believe it originally came from Texas. It is now in Oklahoma. The guy that owns it now has had it for only about 14 months. It's a 99 with a motortrike kit.
  19. The diff. between A&B is the width between the fenders. The A is designed for mid size and small cruisers. The B is for large baggers like the Glide,Wing and RSV.How ever the A fits the RSV just fine. The only problem is the saddle bags don't open all the way.
  20. sorry made a mistake, you want to mount a kit on a Susuki not the RSV.In that case you would have to buy the belly plate and mounting kit from Voyager.About $500.00 for the kit.
  21. I may have a Voyager kit for sale in a couple weeks if the deal I'm working on for a trike goes through. It's an A model with the newer rubber shock system.Once I figured out how to dial it in,it an't to bad. Not sure how you would get it to you, seeing how you are 1400 miles away.I would sell it for what I payed $1500.00.It's on my 99 RSV,so it has everything you would need.
  22. Didn't you buy the silver and gray RSV from Dream Machines? I was looking at that one but wasn't ready to pull the trigger at that time. I have a 99 sil,ver and gray.I looked into the Hannagen kit,but the 99 with the motortrike kit in OK. has less miles on it and would cost about the same as triking my bike.so I'm thinking if this guy is willing to deliver to NY and I pay him to ship it,it's still a good deal.
  23. Sorry, wrong spelling, should be motortrike.Anyway,I'm looking at a 99 Rsv with a motortrike convertion.with 32000 miles for $12000.00 in Oklahoma. The owner will deliver for a price. All other trikes I've been looking at start at $15000.00 and go up from there.I'm thinking this is a great deal, but would like more info about the trike set up.I know they are out of Texas and have read everything I can on line.Just looking for personnel experiance.
  24. Who has this trike kit? how do you like it? any problems with handling? steering?drive train? fit and finish? I am looking at a 99 RSV with this kit. Any info would be very helpful.
