I like the fact that this is more then just another motorcycle forum. Its great that people can feel comfortable enough to say what ever is on they're mind. But it is also important to remember that there are other people here that may not see things the same way. Remember, words can be used as a weapon. a little common sense goes a long way. Now lets all have a group hugh.

HOLY COW! I barfed just looking at the pictures:yikes:

Wait till it's a classic and sell it for lots of money. Unlike the 1st gen that will be shreaded and made into plastic coat hangers:rotfl:

Sounds like my story. I started 4 years ago with a Vulcan 900lt.The next year my wife started riding with me. we figured out real fast the 900 wasn't big enough, then Two years ago i picked up my 99 rsv. It was love at first ride, but it was very heavy for me to hold up with the two of us on it. So last year we fixed that problem by buying a 99 rsv trike. yeh, I'm not right in the head, but we're having more fun then we have in years.

Maybe the other way around. 2nd gens built solid with mostly metal, built to last. 1st gens built with plastic, made to recycle.

What the heck does first gen or second gen have to do with this??????

Hi Pete, And welcome. You will not find a better place for info and friendship then right here. P.S, I sent you a pm.

I believe I found a cheap way to go with this. I found a set of Barons risers on ebay. Opening bid was $14.95, so what the heck I placed a bid. Bidding ended last night, I won with my opening bid. $14.95 plus shipping. Can't beat that.

HEY! I resemble that remark.

Here is the risers I'm talking about. The price tag is $179.00 I don't think their is enough clearence between the fairing and the tank cover for these to work. Just woundering if anyone has given the a try?

OK, then I guess the Flanders bars are the only way to go. which means I will need longer cables. Guess I'll have to save my$$ for the Flanders and cables. Thanks for the info.
-
Are you saying they have better clearence with the black cover?
-
Anyone have experience with these riser extentions? I believe i read somewhere that the risers will hit the plastic ignition cove when the bars are turned to they're full stops. Is this a fact? Is their a way to fix this?

Sound like it's filled with air and needs a good bleeding. Do you own a brake bleeding tool? If not this maybe a good time to get one, it will make bleeding easier. If your doing it the old way by pumping the handle it can take forever to get all the air out.

12 BUCKS! thats outrageous! But worth evey penny. welcome aboard. Straight jackets are not included, you have to bring your own.:rotfl: Be afraid, be very afraid.

I believe the factory set needle valves your refer to have a brass cover over them, so you probable did mess with them. You would have to pry the covers off with a pair of pliers. Others here know more about this then I.
