  1. I don't like it. The 99 -2012 were a much nicer looking bike.
  2. Nope, nothing we can do about fed taxes. But every little bit helps, so living in a state that doesn't tax mil. retirement is a good thing, unless its NY. witch does not tax retirement, but you can't afford the property and school taxes here. Forget about heating bills, this alone will kill you.
  3. Medical insurance isn't a problem, being retired military. Thats one of the smarter things i did in my life.
  4. Very temping Annie. I would have to win the lottery to make that happen.
  5. um... isn't Punta Gorda the place that got wiped off the face of the earth a couple years ago????
  6. We're not even there yet and already your moving in.
  7. One good thing about FL. No income tax on my Mil. retirement.
  8. I wuold scare you if I told you what we pay for porperty tax up here. Lets just say we pay 3 times what you pay. If you live on the lake its 10 time more.
  9. I spent 6 weeks in Orlando in Aug. when I was in the Navy. I got use to the heat pretty quick. But then again I was also a Steam plant operator at the time. Thats where the name comes from. If it is FL. we choose, It will probably be north central.
  10. Most everything outside of FL. is stick build or over priced. Theres hundreds of mobile/ manufactured communities in FL. And the prices are great, but we would perfer to stay a little more north.
  11. Relax Tom, we still have a couple years, I think. Got to get away from the winters up here. You can keep the white stuff. We know how much you like it.
  12. Robin and I are seriously thinking about retiring in the south and are looking into 55 plus manufactured home communities. We have found a bunch in FLA. But very little to no info in any other states. We are looking in NC, SC, GA, and FL. Does anyone here live in, or know of such communities. Looking for any and all info and opinions.
  13. prayers and condolences from Robin and Bob.
  14. good point on the temps. Can get down in the 30's at night . Also don't forget Lake George. Just here a couple weeks ago.
  15. 104 is a nice road to ride. But it is very straight and flat in areas, so watch out of speeders and last minute passers. Many accidents on the 104. Try to go through Rochester before or after noon. Stay away during rush hour. rt 3 up along the lake is a great ride. Stop in Clayton NY, Nice little town on the St.Lawrence. Very cool boat museum there. then check out Alex bay. Take the uncle sam boat tour to both Bolt Castle and Singer Island. Well worth it. Some Hotels in Alex Bay can be pricey. But if you can afford it the hotels on the water are the best. The hotels in town are ok. Have a Safe ride.
  16. Will you please stop encouraging her.
  17. A fall ride would be great. Hopefully we can make it.
  18. Ask your wife, would she rather ride on the bike or in a side car? I know what Rocknrobin would say. She would stop riding if she couldn't ride on the trike.
  19. :sign woo hoo:Happy B day! From Robin and Bob.
  20. As long as I have the time off we will have another FL ride next year.
  21. Robin says Aug. 3rd, 17th, or 31st.
  22. Seems to me R&R is doing just fine..... She delegated everything to Big Tom:bowdown: Under the circumstances This is probably a good idea.
  23. It was GREAT! weather was good, food was good, ice cream was good, the company was GREAT! Robin and I just want to say thanks to everyone there. Can you believe Ddoggma ( rick) came all the way from Philly to spend the day with us. Thank you all for spending the day with us. Can't wait to hook up again.
  24. COOL!
