  1. Water in your tank . pull the hose off the petcock drain some gas into a clear bottle from the reserve possition. look for seperation. .
  2. I don't believe there is enough there to resurface. They are very thin to begin with. New rotors are very expensive. I found a low mileage set on ebay for less the half the price of new. I also have an extra set, but they're warped and I don't think they can be straightened.
  3. I guess so.... Make it 2 more.
  4. Not east of the Mississippi. Rocky's in the back ground.
  5. Not an easy job. You have to pull the carbs to get to them. I have had the carbs off several times, between the 2 RSV's I owned. I've gotten pretty good at it. While they are off you might as well set the floats and give the carbs a good cleaning. However, chances are you boots are ok.
  6. Best to have the bearings checked before you head out on your trip.
  7. on the military retirement. Been working my butt off ever since I retired from the Navy. We have 4 more years to SS, even then we will probably work part time.
  8. Highly unlikely it bearings with such a low mileage bike. What exactly does it sound like? Maybe its just the clutch whine.
  9. sounds like water to me. the tank had time to settle over night. Pull the hose off of the petcock valve drain some gas into a clear bottle make sure you set the valve to reserve so you get a sample from the bottom of the tank. I just went through the same thing, found a lot of water in the bottom of the tank.
  10. 91 octane non ethanol is being sold in many stations here in NY. More stations are adding it to there inventory everyday. If it didn't sell they wouldn't stock it. But I believe you are talking about high test with ethanol that is sitting in the tanks and separating. I agree that this is happening. I believe that is way many stations are carrying the high octane non ethanol gas. A lot of people don't mind spending the extra $$ to keep that crap out of there tanks. I tray to fill my bike tank with non ethanol when ever I can.
  11. should be broke in about the time you retire
  12. Its normal for the intake boots to crack over time. if you were to do a cut away of the boot you will find a metal sleeve between the layers of rubber. They won't leak unless the cracks go all the way to the top of the boot where the carbs seat to the boot. That happened to mine. Had to change them out.
  13. :sign yeah that:Same one I use.
  14. wanna bet! I found out the hard way, if you don't switch to your reserve every couple of fill ups you will be in for a big surprise. on our way back from Don's MD, we were almost home so I let the tank run down to reserve. When I switch over, witch was the fist time since sometime last year I got nothing but water. Lucky thing we were only a mile from a gas station. When we got home I drained off at least a 1/2 gallon of pure water. I don't know where I got it from. Maybe a bad load from a station on the road, maybe it was there all winter. All I know is, my tank will be on reserve all the time from now on. I still can't believe the bike ran great all the way to Ohio and back with all that water in there. Never once did it hickup.
  15. NAH... Aussies taste bad

A blond 1st gen with sidecar, heading north on state rte 96 in Trumansburg NY. about 9:30 am.
  17. Took a day ride today. Pointed the trike south, stopped at one of our favorite eatery for breakfast. After a great meal, we continued south until we hit PA. Ran the 220 south to the 6 east. Great scenery along rte 6. Picked up rte 11 north back to NY. Spent about 8 hours on the road. Most of our rides start with picking a direction and just riding. We have found many interesting places along the way. Not to mention the many hours of free therapy.
  18. Just watch Fast and Loud. Buy junk, paint it, make it run and sell.
  19. Paypal and PM sent. Thanks Monty.
  20. From the gap to the Del. line sucks. You have to run through NJ. I was born and raised in NJ...those people are NUTS! I have family in NJ and refuse to ride the trike in that state. Heck, I hate driving in NJ. Most dangerous state I have ever driven in and I lived in the L.A. area for 4 years. That was nothing compared to NJ. Now with that being said, the best time to drive through that area is after midnight. Just watch out for the crazy street racers do 125 mph plus down the thruway. once you get past Wilmington / Newark Area just run the 13 south if your going to MD. and VA. Nice dive down the Delmarva peninsula. By the way, the Del water gap is a nice area. there are a couple of crossing that aren't to bad. The I-80 can be bad on Friday afternoon and sunday afternoon. All the nut jobs from NY and NJ trying to excape to the Poconos and return.
  21. Sorry, working that day.
  22. We had the pleasure to meet Gunboat last year at International. I had talked to him several times on the subject of our Motortrike RSV's. He was always ready to help in anyway. We will miss him dearly. We pray you have a smooth ride to heaven. God bless, Steamer and RockinRobin
  23. The 88 is a better deal. The 99 looks like a back yard butcher job. The 88 was probably installed by Motortrike. Motortrike is one of the top trike fabricators out there. They are darn near bullet proof. It probably has a Ford 7.5 in straight axle with 3.78 gears. The only problem, it probably doesn't have air suspension, just coil over shocks. So the ride maybe a little on the mushy side.
