  1. 20 mpg! that sucks. I got 30 pulling a trailer,2up. The Hannigan must be a bit heavier then the motortrike. or the gearing is lower. Heck I get 20 mpg with my Chevy 1/2 ton. just saying.
  2. Drop tire pressure to 22 psi. your runing way to much for a trike.
  3. Ride it like you stole it, because you did! Welcome aboard. Ride safe.
  4. Just got back from having a chili dog. So I guess we did our part.
  5. Seems like you just had one of these. They seem to show up faster and faster, don't they. HAPPY BIRTHDAY BIG GUY.
  6. No I didn't pull the petcock. Guess I should. I plan on draining the tank once a year from now on. I will check it next time. Thanks.
  7. Not true about the filament keeping water out of the system. I drained about a liter of water off the bottom of the tank through the reserve. Where did all that water come from you may ask? From not shifting to reserve every couple of tanks, even when you don't need to. This crap they call gas these days with the ethanol in it, brakes down over a short period of time. So if you don't use the reserve, the bottom of the tank will fill up with water and what ever other crap they put in gas these days. Not to mention the occasional bad gas station in ground tank. So don't find out the way I did. on the road and running low on gas, shifted to reserve and almost killed the engine. Good thing there was a gas station only a mile down the road.
  8. And thats why i run on reeserve all the time now.
  9. Heading out for a ride in that direction. maybe be there around 1pm or 2.
  10. THE HARDLYVENTURES.ORG....has a ring to it.... kinda brings a tear to my eye.
  11. OK, you can stay, but now you'll have to but a trailer.
  12. It has to have a trunk and bags. Anyone who's significant other rides with them knows that.
  13. Good god I hope its not a, Dare I say it? Kawasaski If it is I say we throw the bum out.
  14. Water in your tank . pull the hose off the petcock drain some gas into a clear bottle from the reserve possition. look for seperation. .
  15. I don't believe there is enough there to resurface. They are very thin to begin with. New rotors are very expensive. I found a low mileage set on ebay for less the half the price of new. I also have an extra set, but they're warped and I don't think they can be straightened.
  16. I guess so.... Make it 2 more.
  17. Not east of the Mississippi. Rocky's in the back ground.
  18. Not an easy job. You have to pull the carbs to get to them. I have had the carbs off several times, between the 2 RSV's I owned. I've gotten pretty good at it. While they are off you might as well set the floats and give the carbs a good cleaning. However, chances are you boots are ok.
  19. Best to have the bearings checked before you head out on your trip.
  20. on the military retirement. Been working my butt off ever since I retired from the Navy. We have 4 more years to SS, even then we will probably work part time.
  21. Highly unlikely it bearings with such a low mileage bike. What exactly does it sound like? Maybe its just the clutch whine.
  22. sounds like water to me. the tank had time to settle over night. Pull the hose off of the petcock valve drain some gas into a clear bottle make sure you set the valve to reserve so you get a sample from the bottom of the tank. I just went through the same thing, found a lot of water in the bottom of the tank.
  23. 91 octane non ethanol is being sold in many stations here in NY. More stations are adding it to there inventory everyday. If it didn't sell they wouldn't stock it. But I believe you are talking about high test with ethanol that is sitting in the tanks and separating. I agree that this is happening. I believe that is way many stations are carrying the high octane non ethanol gas. A lot of people don't mind spending the extra $$ to keep that crap out of there tanks. I tray to fill my bike tank with non ethanol when ever I can.
  24. should be broke in about the time you retire
