I will say this again as I have in another post. If you run it in the on position all the time and stop for gas when you get down to about a 1/4 tank like I use too. Then that one time when you do need the reserve you may be in for a big surprise, like I was. Water and other gunk will settle in the bottom of the tanks and guess what happens when you shift over to reserve for the fist time in like a year. You will be wishing you used that reserve more often. We were lucky there was a gas station just down the road. When we got home I drained a large amount of water out of the bottom of the tank. Now I'm on reserve all the time and stop when I hit the 1/4 mark. I always have a fresh tank of gas on board. I mean what the heck, my truck doesn't have a reserve petcock valve. And I've never run out of gas in the truck or the car....at least not yet:whistling: So what's the difference with the bike.

There is no perfect place to hold the rally. If you want to host the IR, put a plan together, set up your committee, present it to Don for approval and make it happen. Post it on the calendar and wait for the sign ups. It will happen, but not if someone doesn't take ownership of this thing. Stop talking about it and DO IT! They will come.

Jerry, I checked online for truck rentals. U haul has a 10 ft box truck out of their store at 20 deadwood dr Rapid city. for pick up on the 12th. Not cheap, over $1200.00. I don't think you will find anything under $1000.00. Oh, that's one way to Waterloo.

Are we or are we not going to have an IR next year?

Had the same problem after a hard rain heading to Don's md. I switched to a spare patch cord I carry for just this reason. That fixed the problem. I took the suspect cable into the hotel room to dry out over night, all was good the next day. blow out the connections with lp air. See if that works.

Do a mini rally west. We here in western NY have a WNY mini rally every Aug. We will be there in next week. If you do it, they will come.

Just checked out Guntersville state park lodge online. Very nice location and it does have everything, including camping for those who are on a budget. Rates are a bit high for the hotel in July. About $440.00 for 4 days without a discount. Camp sites are $17.00 non hook up.

Looks like a great location. Lots to do in the area.

U guys need to take this over to the " next IR post" cuz they are talking West Virginia.

Looks like Easy Rider has stepped up for a WV International. But that makes it tough for the west coast gang. Maybe we should alternate locations ever other year. So who in the west is willing to put together a IR for next year?
