  1. forgot to ask. How were the road conditions on the 220? we plan on riding it on our way south.
  2. We are heading down there June 14th, for several days. Planning on staying in Maggie Valley for a couple of days. Going to hit the dragon, the Skyway and Wheels through time. then ride the BRP back north to see what we see.
  3. I had the same problem with my first 99. I picked up a used exhaust system from Pinwall cycle parts for a couple hundred bucks and replaced both Y pipes. From what I remember you probably can't fix the old pipes. It is a pretty straight forward procedure to remove the exhaust system.
  4. 60 in 5th gear! your not even close to 5th gear speeds. 70 and up, cruising on the thruway is 5th gear time. If it sounds like it is revving high at 60, maybe the clutch is slipping?
  5. Most trikes have a low center of gravity, for the most part they stick to the road like a high end sports car. Like any vehicle to much speed and inexperience = crash.
  6. Spanky + spyder?.....maybe not a bad thing:confused24: After all the rubber will always be on the road.....we hope:whistling: enjoy your new ride my friend.
  7. I was worried about the exhaust also, but I think it is far enough from them that it will be ok. Also am going to use a hard box to store everything in.
  8. another pic
  9. Picked this up at Harbor Fright. Should do the job.
  10. :sign yeah that:Bring the bars up and back a little. Makes a world of difference. If that doesn't work, send the seat to Rick Butler. You can find him in the classified section. Never had his mod done, but everyone that has swears by it.
  11. Just when you thought, IT couldn't get any worse, IT does! When is IT going to stop?
  12. Not this time, but we plan on retiring there in a couple years. Guess we will make it then.
  13. I have seen a few 2nd gens with three pouch setups mounted on the inside of the windshield. I guess you can use any after market setup.
  14. On the list, thanks
  15. I have a 99 rsv with a motortrike conversion solid rear axle. It handles great but like the others have mentioned it is a stiff ride. I wish Motortrike would make there independent rear suspension kit for the rsv.
  16. Yep, slips through the air easier:think:
  17. Thinking about staying at the Skyline Village Inn, anybody ever stay there?
  18. would like to but we will be at the western NY rally.
  19. This past October we planned a trip to the BRP, but the early winter changed our plans. So we will try again in June. Plan on heading down on the 14th. We will trailer the trike to N.C. and ride as much of the lower BRP as we can get in,in 5 to 6 days. We plan on hitting Maggie valley and the dragon. Not sure where home base will be at this time. Thinking about the Linville area. If anyone is planning on being in the area, maybe we can hook up.
  20. I know just how you feel. woke up to about 2" of the S..... stuff. Can't wait till we retire so we can head south.
  21. lets just say after towing the trike home in a snow storm requires some very deep cleaning. I hit the speakers with direct water pressure to flush out any salt that may have gotten in there. they still work just fine.
  22. What's a guy got to do to kill this thing?
  23. OK, time to jump in. You can all kiss my Now you can close it.
  24. you can view the manuals right here in the tech section. they are for the rsv but its mostly the same bike mechanically.
