  1. We took a week and rode over to Bar Harbor ME. with a stop in NH to ride up Mt. Washington Had a great time. Only rode a couple hundred miles a day. Spent 2 days In bar Harbor. Rode up Cadillac Mountain and took a boat ride on a Lobster boat to see the harbor seals and lighthouse. Also a show and tell on Lobster fishing. Not cheap in the new England states, food and rooms are expensive. If you stay a couple miles out side of town there are several nice little motels that are reasonable. Prices are much lower after labor day and most all had vacancy's. If you go there and ride up Cadillac Mt. don't stop at the visitor's station and pay for a park pass. just head straight up the mountain. If you want to tour the National Park then you need a pass. it looks like pretty good weather in New England next week. Enjoy your ride, where ever you go.
  2. How about a choice Hotel gift card for $1000.00. most all of us take several road trips each year on our bike. We all know how expensive lodging is. it can be used anywhere in the U.S. Would sure make a run to the next IR a lot easier on the wallet.
  3. I had two Yamaha shops look at my 99 trying to figure out at least some of the noises the darn thing makes. One shop did find worn driveshaft U joint's, but I have a trike so you probably don't have that problem. As for the other noises that sound like the transmission is coming apart, Or maybe Timing chain, We have driven over 6000 miles so far this summer. we spent a week riding down and back to SC. rode the dragon and Blue ridge parkway and several other roads while down there. Just today returned from 1500 miles riding out to Bar Harbor ME. With a stop in NH to ride up Mount Washington. 1st gear all the way up and down. Also rode up Cadillac mountain. Guess what, it still makes the same noises. Still hasn't fallen apart. The darn thing are just noisy. Don't even get me started on the Clutch whine.... I just turn up the radio.
  4. I would go with the battery first. if it checks out then start looking deeper.
  5. Like the Boss said, we already have regional rallies, so maybe we should put the IR on hold for now. Over on trike talk they hold 4 rallies, one in each corner of the country and it seems to work out just fine. with regional rallies, if you have the time and $$ you get to enjoy as many rallies as you can make it to. they are also convenient for those like me that still work and have limited vacation time.
  6. RockinRobin is devastated.
  7. No problem Tom, Since you volunteered, I appoint you head of ALL rally arrangements, Venue, food, Tee shirts, Hotel reservations, Fee collection and any other related activities. Just report to me once a month to let me know how its going. I suggest that since you are already doing all of this for your WNY rally, that you just change the name to International Rally..... Oh, wait, we already did this 3 years ago. Well since your so good at this then maybe you should be in charge. Robin and I will help, along with BongoBob, frogger, motorcycletom, buffalobodner, Taters and anyone else I may have left out. Heck anyone that wants to volunteer just throw in your hat. back at you big guy.
  8. 11 pages and still nothing set for next year. Someone needs to step up to the plate.
  9. Wrong direction, if you were heading east through NY I could do it for you.

  12. his post says RSV, I'm assuming 2nd gen.
  13. Most chrome accessories have been discontinued by Yamaha. You can find some stuff on ebay. Couple of venders here on the site also have some accessories.
  14. Don't forget to visit Magee Valley and wheels through time. Be careful and have a great time.
  15. Must be West Macedon. ...And this from a limo driver. Remind me to not hire you for a wine tour... don't want to end up it NJ.

  19. Depending on how much time you have to spend in the finger lakes, I recommend a ride around Keuka lake. Start in Penn Yan. Ride route 54a down the west side of the lake to Hammondsport, America's friendliest little town. spend a little time for lunch or ice cream. also the Glenn Curtis museum is there. then back up the east side of the lake on route 54. cross over to Seneca lake, to route 14 south along the lake to Watkins Glen. Another nice town to spend some time in. Take route 414 north from Watkins glen along the east side of Seneca lake, some of the best scenery in all the finger lakes. take that to Ovid. From there cross over to route 89. if you head north it will take you up along Cayuga lake to Seneca Falls, birth place of women's rights. also know has Bedford Falls from "It's a wonderful life". If you head south you will end up in Ithaca. Nice down town commons. Also butter milk falls and Ithaca Falls. If you head south to Ithaca, you will go through Taughannock falls state park. You really should ride up the hill to see the top end of the falls. Almost forgot the falls walk in Watkins glen state park. Ok, when you are ready to head up to Alex bay, take the 89 north to the 104 east to the 104a to the 3, to the 12e along the St Lawrence to Alex bay. There are other lakes and other rides, but you won't have enough time. almost forgot there are about a million wineries around here, also some distilleries. You will not be bored. Have a great ride. ps. What dates will you be here?
  20. I live in the finger lake. Will give u a run down when I get home from work this afternoon.
  21. Back home. Had a great time as usual. Always great to see all our VR friends and to make new ones. If the rest of you want to experience one of the best Rally's VR has to offer, then be here next year. Yes it is already in the planning stage. We already have a theme and the same band will be there. Big Tom And team will fill you in when all the details are hammered out. So set aside the time for early next August. Dates to follow. Thanks again to Terry and Michelle for allowing us to invade your wonderful establishment. You guys are the best.
  22. Now your getting it. RockinRobin is my Loving, sweet, adorable, understanding Wife of 39 years, who is generous enough to help out other VR members wife's with their husbands attitude issues. She is well know for letting them know that they are #1 in here book. So Puc, if you are lucky, someday you to may be on the receiving end of her heart felt therapy. No comments from the peanut gallery on the sweet, adorable thing. GOT IT DINGY!
  23. PUC, you have know idea how funny your replay is. I'm sure someone will set you stright
  24. Clyde is ready to ride. Clyde will be heading out for the NY rally Saturday morning. Better late then never. Clyde says if you want to beat him as the best mascot, then you better bring your "A" game. Clyde says he is one BAD A$$ BIKER! So bring it on!
