  1. I think you should rethink installing risers. Even without the rake kit the risers are not the best fit on the RSV. I believe everyone who has installed them have the same problem, the risers hit the black plastic ignition switch cover and if you have the chrome cover it will break the plastic. I had to remove my chrome cover and go back to the black cover. The black cover has more give to it. I wise I never installed the risers and went with a set of Flanders bars. Problem with doing that is $$. to do it right you should change out the cables. Also it you do manage to install the risers you will need to re-route the cables to make sure you have enough slack in them when the bars are hard over. Probably not what you wanted to hear. If you continue to look through old posts on the subject you will also find info on what to do with the rubber shock absorbers between the fairing and the bars. They will have to be repositioned. New bars are a lot easier.
  2. It was truly a blast. We had a great time hanging out with you two. Looking forward to next time. Of course, with RockinRobin keeping me in line it will be like a part of you never left.
  3. Ok, now I'm completely confused, but that's normal. I'm glade you are doing well and will not let this get you down. Looking forward to seeing you next year. Oh, RockinRobin says you can come live in our basement anytime. We have lots for stuff that needs to de done around here. Take care my friend.
  4. I'm with Condor on this. I'm bored with the same old roads in the local area and having to ride hundreds of miles over the same old roads to get to a new destination is getting old. So I think our next long haul trip we will trailer the trike to a central location and do day rides. We want to spend more time stopping to smell the roses and a little less time riding.
  5. Tooch, All I can say is, THANK GOD THAT TRAILER IS IN CANADA!!!! and I'm glade all went well at the boarder. We too are grateful for your friendship and look forward to seeing you again on another adventure. ps. Now I can fill my garage with more stuff.
  6. She knows.
  7. Safe trip home Annie, we miss you already.
  8. Back home from another great WNY rally. I hope everyone had a great time. RockinRobin and I enjoyed seeing all of our old friends and making several new friends. We hope to see all of you again next year, if not sooner.
  9. I stopped on the way home from work and picked up some Hot Sex.
  10. The whine has to do with the way the gears are cut, other then the I basket there's not much you can do to get ride of it. I just turn up the radio and forget about it.
  11. Someone who said he wasn't going to make it to the rally, is going to be there after all. This is going to be a jam packed Weekend. So kick them tires and light them fires and come on out to join in the fun. Don't forget to sign up. See you there.
  12. May have burned out the plug. try a new plug. if that don't work then the rings and cylinder walls are scored, no compression. Time for a new trimmer.
  13. RockinRobin and I were out for an afternoon ride over to the Windmill crafts market in Penn Yan NY, while sitting at a picnic table a couple of lady's came over to ask if they could share our table, keep in mind, we were wearing our vests. As they were sitting down, one of them said " I see you are motorcycle riders" And Robin replied..... " Nope I just like to dress up like a biker" I almost fell off the bench. Well that broke the ice. We set there for the better part of an hour chit chatting as if we were long time friends. Lori and, now get this, Rocking Ronda, Yep you heard right,( hope I got their names right) are two of the nicest and funniest people you ever wanted to meet. They are here from Canada, riding the Finger Lakes area for a couple of days and we were lucky enough to meet them. We gave them the info for VR. They said the would check us out. Hope so.
  14. Lodging is always cheaper after Labor Day. Temps are good in most parts of the country. October can be very unpredictable in the northeast. We rode the New England states last September and had great weather, except the last day.
  15. September! best time of the year to ride.
  16. will be there Thursday, around noon.
  17. I think neutral would be safer for the transmission. I would be concerned that the gears would take a beating from all the bouncing around the trike will be doing on the trailer. No matter how well you tie it down, there will still be movement.
  18. Jonas, Maybe you could hire a small ship to transport all our bike's to the land of Ice:whistling:
  19. I'm sure they are a blast to drive, but that's my point, you drive it, you don't ride it. It is set up the same as a car, therefore it is a 3 wheeled car, which is nothing new, they have been around for many years, just not as hot as the slingshot.
  20. Not me, If I want to drive a sports car I will buy a sports car. nuff said.
  21. You said you changed the fuel pump, does this one click, or not? If it doesn't then I would check to see if you have power to it. Did you try bypassing the pump?
  22. RockinRobin is back on the road. went on a 90 mile test ride today. While it was torn down I replace the original 1157 bulb type 39 ford taillights, with a new set of 39 ford style led rapid fire lights. Not cheap, but what a difference. led is the only way to go. Can't wait to see everyone at WNY.
  23. We already have several regional rallies each year, plus a couple of maintenance days. I vote for dropping the IR and continue with regionals, meet and eats and maint. days. If someone wants to put something together, then have at it. If you plan it they will come.
  24. I work for Lowe's And use to work for a JD dealer selling lawn mowers and tractor. These new " automatic transmissions" are junk. Spend the extra $$ and get a Hydro. The Hydro has been around for about 30 years and are very reliable.
