Looks like the red roof for us. -
OK, La Quinta is out, to expensive. Looks like its the red roof inn. T.J. thanks for the link.

Other then those who are staying at the Pond Monster resort, where are you planning on staying? We are thinking about La Quinta in North Olmsted. The price is $89 and up. It's about 20 miles from Don's place. The area looks to be commercial. We have never had a bad experience with La Quinta.

Freebird's Maintenance Day - Do we want to do it?

It seems like we don't get many newbees to come out to any of our VR events. It seems like we are getting new VR sign ups but don't seem to hear from many of them after they become members. Are we not making them feel welcome? If you are a new member and would like to meet a bunch of great folks, you really need to come out to one of our great events. It will only hurt for a minute lol. I guarantee you will have a great time. Robin and I are going to try to make MD but have to wait and see how thing go with her back and if she will be going back to work. Don, even a small group is better then none. From experience working with the WNY rally a lot of the sign ups come in the last 45 days. I know that doesn't make it any easier for you, but it is what it is. -
Don't know what happen to him. He did our rear seat in Jan. and received it in mid Feb. He did a great job on it. Sure hope he's ok.

couple more pic's. Not the best picture of Dale Walkner at wheels through time. Had to include RockinRobins signature salute. First 3 pic's are of Mt. Washington.

Go to youtube for some great how-to diy info. most all bike are the same when it comes to hydraulic brakes. Just search motorcycle brake bleeding. you will find numerous how to video's. There are brake bleeding tools that you can buy at any auto parts store. or you can do it the old fashion way.
-
No shims on the front brakes that I've ever seen. You should bleed off the brake fluid to relieve the pressure on them, makes it easier to pry the calipers open. THIS IS IMPORTANT! cover all the plastic parts on the bike to keep the brake fluid from getting on them. If brake fluid gets on any of the plastic, it will eat it! Another reason for bleeding the brakes is to replace with fresh dot4 fluid. Make sure you use dot4, it will handle the heat better then dot3. No you do not have to take the tire off to change pads. You can check out the procedure in the tech section. there is a tech manual there.

Puc, to answer your questions. the rake kit is like adding power steering, it takes less muscle power. As far as putting a car tire on the rear, I did give it some thought but before taking action on that idea' I purchased the trike and sold the voyager kit. I think it would probably work better then the bike tire, but only if you leave the voyager kit on all the time, although some folks do ride on the dark side, so who knows. As for rear brakes, all you have to stop the voyager rig is the bike brakes. No brakes on the out riggers. I don't see any way to add them because the voyager is removable. How would you hook up the hydraulics?

Here's my 2 cents. We have first hand experience with both Venture kit and trike. I don't know if anyone mentioned rear tire wear, I was getting a head ache trying to read all the input from everyone. Anyway the major issues we had with the Venture kit. First was rear tire wear, we had to replace the tire after about 5000 miles. You will go through rear tires faster then on two wheels. Handling wasn't bad at all once you get use to it, but you can pull one wheel off the ground in high speed curves. You learn to slow down going into tight curves. If you don't get the pre-load just right and you lock up the brakes, you will slide forever, need to get most of the weight on the center wheel and let the out riggers do there job of holding the bike up right. The steering is a little heavy but that's because you have to steer the darn thing, no more leaning. All in all, we enjoyed the venture kit and it did lead us to going to a full trike. Now as far as going to a 3 wheel trike, If I can't afford to keep our 15 year old trike on the road forever, then I would go back to a out rigger again, probably a triggs trike kit. I believe, from all the research I have done on these kits, Triggs seems to built a better kit then all the rest, with better suspension. They also have a reverse kit. Now if you want my opinion on 3 wheels, they are great. We feel way more secure on our trike then anything else we have tested. You will never wear out the rear tire, not enough weight on then to wear them out. I do not have a rake kit on our trike and it takes a lot of muscle to steer it. I highly recommend a rake kit. Independent rear suspension is a must, the solid axle is a little hard on the butt. With that being said, the solid axle make for a great handling bike in the curves. Handles like a sports car. Gas mileage is better with the Venture kit then 3 wheels. I get between 30 and 35 mpg with the trike and around 40 with the venture. As far as removing and installing the venture kit, I found this to be the biggest pain in the a$$ with the venture kit and just left it on all the time. I hope this helps.

Jonsey, you will be missed but never forgotten. Robin and I will think of you every time we throw a leg over the seat of our trike. We will never forget the great rides we shared with you and Linda. I know one day we will ride together again. Thanks for the great freakin times we had together. R I P my friend.

Looks great Jonas.

Care Larry, what is bc&bs and why didn't Tri Care cover the emergency room visit? we have never had a problem with Tri Care covering ER or any other med bills.

What your looking at in that video is not the finished product. It is common for all vehicle manufacturers to use flat paint and plastic covers to hide the features of said vehicle from the prying eyes of the competition while conducting road tests. The actual bike will look much different....lets hope so, because that thing is butt ugly!

I wanna do that! Sick and tired of this working thing!

Seems like choppers are out and custom baggers are the big deal now. I'd rather have a bagger over a hard to handle chopper any day.

Yea Joe, you got it.

Just read that OCC world head quarter is on the auction block.
