  1. Loud Pipes and Passing lamps, But the most effective part is a pair of sharp eyes. Even with all of that here in Southern Missouri we still have a lot of vehicle / deer accidents. I have worked several with motorcycles. A good friend of mine hit a nice 8 pt. buck 2 yrs. ago. It broke his leg, and the bike suffered a lot of damage. I keep telling him that he needs to use his .308 it would be a lot better and easier on his body. Longer seasons are needed where the numbers are high. Missouri Conservation Commission is wanting to start Elk Restoration here in Southern Mo. Can you imagine hitting one of them on a bike?????
  2. The only place that I have had any problems with carburated bikes was out west,Higher elevation. When we rode up Pikes Peak and Wolf Creek Pass I could tell that I lost some power, But all things being relative I still like the Carbs!!!
  3. You need to try to stay at the Country Mountain Inn, Very Biker friendly. We go to ES at least 2 times a year . If possible you also need to ride The Pig Trail. The folks that own the Inn are good folks and retired LEO'S . Phone # 1-800-626-7120 . Tell them Ralph & Verba from Mo. referred you.
  4. Well my Birthday is the 11th. I will try to make it just to see the park again. I live South of Ft. Leonard Wood so it will be a short ride.
  5. I have a 09 RSTD that I am getting ready to change the seats to a Mustang. I don't know for sure , but I think that it will fit. The bike that they are coming off from has 400 miles on it.
  6. Well after being a Deputy Sheriff for 25 Years you are only 1 of a few who I haven't:bobby:
  7. Well I plan on taking a trip thru northern Georgia in October, So I will have to find a good place for a picture so I can replace my avatar that is posted now from the top of Pikes Peak, Co. Thanks for the welcome, I see that folkes here are just as friendly as on the Road Star Site.
  8. I have ran Drag Specalties Synthetic in my 05 Road Star for 37,000 miles with no problems. I will trade it off on tuesday for a new 09 Tour Deluxe. I sure hope that the new one does as good on trips as the old Road Star as I will be Retired on the last day of Sept. and plan on doing some touring!!! I know two others who changed to Mobil 1 when they had higher milage bikes with no problems.
