  1. Yep. http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p3984.m570.l1313&_nkw=ceramic+h4+connector&_sacat=See-All-Categories
  2. I'd like to know where in the USA gas is $3/gal.
  3. 55/60 is stock so you shouldn't need to go ceramic for that.
  4. What's the wattage on it? I melted my stock connector with an 80/100w bulb. Patched in a ceramic as a temporary measure and now I'm converting to HID (35w).
  5. Owner manual lists overall length at 100inches. Compact pickup beds are at best 6.5 feet (78 inches) long. Even with the tailgate down you're not going to have the rear of the bike supported very well. A trailer (or full size truck) is a far better option.
  6. Absolutely not.
  7. X3 on the removal (93 model in my case). Speakers are still in the fairing purely for cosmetics at this point. The other stuff is available though if anybody wants it. Well, except the integral cabling that I don't really care to fish outta the main harness. Depends how far buried in there it is.

  9. Might as well wait til 2101, then you'll still be a century behind!
  10. Hey KIC... you're banned from posting with your phone. That made no sense whatsoever.
  11. No- the boot/cap simply pulls off the plug (it could be difficult to get it broken loose). The boot/cap is screwed onto the end of the wire. You shouldn't have to unscrew anything until you're ready to take the plugs out of the cylinders.

  13. There is also 3? 4? attenuator settings on the driver remote control. If you're getting "some" but not all volume, I'd go there first.
  14. Don't forget that there is also an oil (quantity = low) warning segment.
  15. I also have the largest (Clearview) shield but no vent and came from a Slipstreamer as well. I find the CV to be better, even without the vent.
  16. Found it! Page 7-129 of the XVZ13 manual. Today I released all the terminals from the connector and found the two in question that I need for my switching device: green and black. Checking continuity between those two terms with the switch in both positions confirms it will work for a simple on/off switch. Woohoo!
  17. Darnitall if I can find a thread I know I saw not too long ago. Subject matter: converted the space (some of it, at least) where the radio equipment used to be into a fine looking storage cubby. Pretty sure it was either stainless or aluminum. Somebody point me to that thread(s) please! Thanks!
  18. Yes, I'm also curious what bike we're talking about. A Venture (regardless of 1gen or 2gen) is by no means a learner bike. I'd suggest parking it and find a little tiddler to learn how to maneuver and balance on, get some experience, and then come back to the big boy later on. My best suggestion is to learn on the dirt/grass (enduro or dirt bike... small in size).
  19. Use this for a guide: http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=33328
  20. I'm gonna resurrect this old thread. I had a metallic ticking noise at idle and low engine speeds that sounded for all the world like a lifter, but it would go away when the handlebars were turned far enough off center so I knew it wasn't internal engine. In the midst of doing several other projects and ideas I discovered the culprit. The mounting bracket for the front left coil broke and the metal on metal was what I was hearing. Repositioned the coil a little further away and put a piece of rubber between the two sharp edges- problem solved. See photo. This is just an FYI, for whatever good it will serve.
  21. I think a replacement collector might be in Coffeepot's future should he ever decide to remove it and get a look at it.
  22. Granted, you'd have to wiggle them a little bit probably. Whang on them with a rubber mallet (toward the rear of the bike) to help knock them free of the collector. But prying the muffler far enough down (left side) to get the axle nut would almost assuredly do exhaust damage.
  23. That sounds like a fabulous way to put undue strain on the outpipe stubs of the collector and snap them right off... apparently a weak area in the first place as I've seen several of them that broke off exactly in that area.
