  1. You will be ok riding the bike to the maintenance day. Syncing the cards only will affect the motor at idle or just above. It will idle smoother after the sync, and won't pop when you close the throttle when slowing down.
  2. I raised the fork tubes in the triple tree for the front 1 inch. I placed a lower profile tire in the back to lower it about a inch. The lower profile tire makes the speedo a little fast, but worth it.
  3. gotta keep the wife happy!
  4. Yep, I broke my right femur.
  5. Missed It! The restaurant I was at would not allow me access to their wifi.
  6. Ok, That didn't work. Anybody have a straight right hand crash bar for a 2nd generation Venture? Road rash is ok, but I need a straight one.
  7. I just located a tube bender. I'm pulling everything off of the crash bar and see how it works out. I just wish I new what it looked like before the crash...
  8. Robin and my prayers go to your family.
  9. I was able to bend it back with my leg, but there are bends I can't see and the alignment is off quite a bit for the fairing. Right now, I just don't have the funds for a purchase from Pinwall parts, as cheap as they are.
  10. I've been trying to bend the right side engine guard back into position, but I'm so far unable to get the mounting brackets lined up with the fairing holes. I think that the tubular bottom is bent. Is it supposed to be straight, or does it have a bend about half way from the mounting on the frame. If its supposed to be straight, I will have to pull it and try to bend it in a vise.
  11. Wow! Happy birthday! Enjoy the day.
  12. The check engine light indicates there is something involving your emissions system. Check the codes with a scanner, go to most any parts store and they will check it for free. They will lead you in the right direction. My Ford, a 96, has the light on, when I need to get it smogged, I will clear the codes, run the car for a few miles, just long enough to clear the light before it reaches the last couple of codes and get it tested. I believe that I can pass with 8 or 9 codes and still pass. Don't worry about it otherwise. The car will be ok and run fine with the light on.
  13. How many miles are you getting from the Kumhos? I'm running on my second BFG. I'm getting around 25,000 miles on em.

    You Tube

I have the same issue with my computer. I can't view the U-tube about welding plastic recently posted.
  15. Count us in. Always a good time.
  16. Its time to do some maintenance on the bike. I broke my leg. I have the valve shim kit, but lost my valve tool. I remember a member who sells the tool, but its not in the list of member classified listings. I'll also be looking to buy a clutch kit. Can anyone here lead me in the right direction? The pain killers are mudddling my brain. I may also need some plastic repair kit.

    seat bolts

I have not used the seat nuts for quite a while. The seat stays on just fine without them.
  18. My 06 is on the original shock at 65000 miles. There is no entry for 0 times replacement on the poll. I'm thinking that there is really no concern with the realibility of this shock. How long will struts on an auto last?
  19. I've always taken pride in all of the bikes I ride. A dirty bike would shame me. I guess it all goes back to my upbringing. The first bike I paid for myself was a Hodaka, and along with my riding buddies, we took care and pride in our rides. Today, I have been using the Mr Clean cleaning system, and sadly, I'm on the last of my filters and soap. IT WAS DISCONTINUED. Robin and I ride to quite a few runs, local and long distance, and it always seems that its the jap bikes that are abused and neglected. This Venture is the first jap bike I have owned in many a year, and it has been, by far, the most reliable and most comfortable bike we have ever owned. When I'm done with the Mr. Clean system, I'll go back to the old hand wash, once a week.
  20. The fuel pump should not be hot, not even a little warm. Your pump will start working when it cools down. Replace it.
  21. Robin and I are headed to Morro Bay on Thursday and I wanted to use a one step detailer on the bike before the trip. I've been using Original Bike Spirits because its cheap and does a ok job. I'm out, so I go to the local shop and they don't carry it. I find this MrMoto for $7.95 a can and ask the guy behind the counter if its any good. He asks several guys there, but they have never heard of it or tried it. They all recommended the S-100, which is $14.00 a can. I figure that at $7.95 a can I'll give it a try. This stuff is great! The spray is much more refined and is easy to control. A little bit goes a long way and polishes to a great shine. The can says it works best on black bikes, which is good for me as all of my bikes are black. If you are limited on funds like me, I really recommend this product.

    Fatal Crash

I knew both of them. They were both wing nuts from George AFB, best buddies.

    Fatal Crash

2 years ago, on a poker run, I saw 2 Yamaha sport bikes racing to the next bar go wide on a corner and head on into a small import with 4 girls in it. Flipped the car. I feel for the girls, the nightmares they will have to live with for the rest of their lives.
  24. Hello Rick, I need one for the left side of my 06. Thats left side when sitting on the bike.
