Yes, it is the cowling by your right foot when you are sitting on the bike facing forward:starz:

Sorry guys, the 5 amp fuse for the power outlet in the left side of the front fairing is located in the fuse box located in the lower right side fairing. To get to the fuse is really no problem, just remove the front half of the lower fairing, I believe 3 bolts. Its located in a small box in the lower part of the fairing that remains on the bike. You do not need to remove the 2 rear parts of the lower fairing. These locations are as you are sitting on the bike.

My wife has had the Tourmaster heated vest for 2 seasons and loves it, no issues at all. And, the price is right. I believe that for the cost of the vest, which comes with a controller, all you would get with the other companys vests is the controller!

My rear shock has squeaked since the day I rode it home, 2 years ago. It will do it in the morning when I first get on the bike in the morning, after sitting all night. I really don't notice it at any other time. The shock has not given me any other issues, I'm happy with its performance, but I really do expect to change it after 100,000 miles, which I will reach before the 5 year warranty expires.

Looks like we're "Venturing" to the "dark side"...

That's one of the best looking bikes I've ever seen! -
The earlier calenders had bikes build by the individuals who rode them. It would seem this years calendar has bikes which are built by the pros for a great amount of money, for show only, not to be ridden, kinda like the old calendar girls. Did you notice there is no hole stamped in the calendar where you could hang it from a nail?

I've got red X's over most of the pages where there were pictures, like new posts, ect.

Check out the Tourmaster line of heated vests. The vest comes with the controller for about 120.00 and works great!

I started with the 5W40, and changed it every 3000 miles. I than tried out the 15W40 and did not notice much of a difference. Since I change my oil every 3000 miles or so, I stick with the cheaper 15W40.

The headers on the Venture are very restricted, I believe you would have to replace them if you really wanted a unrestricted exhaust. Just replacing the slip-ons will not effect the jetting, just check your plugs to see how its running. As far as plugs go, its a good idea to check them every once in a while to see how the bike is running, so just use the regular ones and replace every 8,000 miles. Opening up the intake will not effect the jetting if you don't open up the headers, check your plugs to see how its running. I use the lower octane, cheap gas and have no issues with it. As a matter of fact, its fun when riding with Harley's to see their expressions when you fill up with regular gas. Hehe.

I change my plugs around 8,000 miles, and can feel the change every time. The plugs, when changed, look fine, but it is really hard to see any break down in them, unless of course they are fouled, or burned. I read of some not changing for 50,000 miles because the bike still runs, but really, how much is a plug? Try to change them at the recommended interval, I think you will feel a improvement in the way the motor runs.

I've never had a problem with the Metzlers, but after hearing of all the problems the others have had with Dunlops, Avons, and Mitchlins, I went to a BF Goodrich on the rear. I still have a Metzler on the front, wear is great, and have not heard any complaints about the tire on the front of the bike, just the rear.

I got one, and have no issues with it.

I've had mine a couple years, it still opens and closes fine. I like it. And as far as bugs go, I have no problem cleaning em out.

I've been running two up at 33 psi on my BFG tire. I really don't notice the tire squirm, until I ride on the rain grooves in the concrete super-slabs. I just adjust to it. I've had bikes in the past that handled like that before, I remember riding on the first road in California to have rain grooves cut into it. I have around 6000 miles on this tire, and I really don't see any wear on it. But I never measured the tread depth.
-
I did it the cheap way. I bought a smaller diameter tire for the back, about $85.00, and then lowered the front by moving the forks up in the triple tree, $0.00. There are great instructions for lowering the front, in the tech forum for 2nd generations.

I lowered mine a half inch in the back, and 1 inch in the front. I like it.
