Would like to let riders in the Florida area know about the bike show at the World Golf Vilage. " Ride into History" this saturday the 17th. I will be showing off my rebuilt 03 RSV along with a poster to bring attention to it being May's Motorcycle Safey month. The prior owner (my neighbor) was the victom of a hit-and-run. Come on out and see a lot of nice motorcycles.

jc whitney had some on sale that had an indian pic on them that we liked but... quality of the helmet was yuk. So they are being sent back. I am also looking again for a good 3/4 that i can attach the com gear to. shopping through a catolog is not the way to do it. I will have to take the time and go try them on next time.

Hay Jeff, to put your MIND at ease...you can keep them on all the time in the back. http://www.nopork.com has a kit that uses those turn signal housing to give extra lighting when the signals are not in use.

Pay Attention to your Suspension Air Pressure!
LetHimRide replied to V7Goose's topic in Watering Hole
Sorry, but I have to disagree with the crossover kit. A good idea but not built well. plastic barbs with plastic hose and a plastic sleave that slides over the hose to hold it onto the barb... I could not keep it from leaking! fluid seeping around the fitting would build up and end up on my gas tank and lower farings. I took it off and went back to trying to balance them out with the HD hand pump. My 2cents ... plastic is not the way to go when sealing up folk fluid under pressure. -
Well.. I've been on a motordriven two wheels since I passed my m/c lic on a Honda 70cc. I kinda borrowed my sig. from Willy Nelson's " Red Headed Stranger" alblem. I like his music and I liked the song. The story states not to mess with his horse and the same goes with my scooter.. just let him ride.

Looking for good website that has used parts
LetHimRide replied to LetHimRide's topic in Watering Hole
Thankyou for your inputs for sites to find used parts. I ordered through "yamahapartsdirect" for a price of $77.99. (that's still a lot for plastic!) I hope others can use your sites to find the items they need. ken -
Hay all, I have been putting together an 03 RSV for about a year now. I have been getting most of my parts through ebay but have yet to find the chrome plastic strip for the windshield cover. At $100 bucks new for plastic (ouch) I would rather by used. I can repair scrapes and repaint.but even the used parts dealers don't have one. Have you got a real good used parts dealer that you would direct me too? thanks. I'll send lots of pics of the bike when I'm finished. For a sneek preview of my fuel tank paint job go to http://www.mackair.com. Look down a few pics til you come to one that has indians&horses. This guy does great work!

I would like to start by letting all know I signed up under a new log in name (old:puddlejumper) since your "crash". Last year I sold my HD and bought my neighbors "crashed" 03 RSV. I took it down to the frame and brought it back to life with a new front end and plastic parts from ebay. (still looking for right side lower leg cover, right side rear speaker asm. and front window chrome). My neighbor, (wheelchair, hit and run victim) has enjoyed watching his old bike come back to life. I have had the bike on the road now for three month and have come to the hardest part of the repair job. PAINTING THE BIKE, because now i have to stop riding it and take it all apart again!!!! I keep filling up the gas tank and putting it off. I did a search but have not found to many different paint jobs done on an o3. I want to keep the same colors but jazz it up a bit. Thinking of putting a phoenix on the front fender for my neighbor. Have to learn how to air brush first. If you got ideas or pics that would help send them my way. A fellow venturerider who owns an auto finish shop is helping me with the paint job. I looked into the Yamama paint, ouch! $$$. I could- but not sure if I want to do a color match. Does anyone know the color mixing codes for the 03 paint. When I learn how to put pics into your site I'll post my progress. See ya on the road in a bit, Ken

I agree, being new, give it time to break in. Putting on pipes will cause a change in back pressure and a carb. tune to balance the carbs out might be a cure. I had a popping sound at idle, tuned the carbs and it went away and my mileage jumped up an extra 12 miles at the reserve lite.
