1) 89 VR. I installed 2 Amber LED Night Rider turn signals from Custom Dynamics for the Front. I followed Instructions and connected the three wires from each LED to the respective standard turnsignals. The LED wires were spliced in within about 1 foot of wire from the standard front turn signal bulb. I used a circuit tester to verify that I'm splicing into the correct wire. After the installation was completed the LED turn signals all worked as it should. The LEDs do not have parking light capabilities, they are just turn signals. When I put the 4 way flashers on the LEDs were not working. At first I was puzzled for I was expecting the 4 way flashers to activate the LEDs. Later my thoughts are that the 4 way flashers must activate just the stock parking lights rather than the stock turn signals. Maybe you all knew that but I didn't. Please correct me if needed. However when I put the 4 way flashers on and then switch on the turn signal eithor directions, both the LEDs work inconjuction with the standard turn signal in 4 way flasher mode. There's probably an explaination for this. So if someone can put it in laymen terms I'd appreciate it. The 2nd issue. 2) A week prior I installed a set of Walmart Platinum Burners with a switched relay powered by the Accessory fuse box screw. The lights worked great. So today after finishing up the LED installation I tried all various combinations and this is what I've encountered. The LED turn signals will not work with the Platinum Burners. a) If I have eithor turn signal running, then activate the running lights the LEDs stop. b) When I have the 4 way flashers on with the turn signals on also to activate the LEDs in 4 way flashing mode then turn on the Platinum Burners just the LEDs stop. The standard 4 way flashers work. c) When I have the Platinum Burners on first the LEDs will not work in any combination of a) or b) The bike has been stitting for 1 month with a 2 amp auto shut off motorcycle charger. The Bike is fairly new to me and so I have not had the battery checked nor the Stator checked. My 89 VR has 25K miles. Oh yes I've also installed a set of Stebel TM80 Magnum Horns on a seperate relay and they work great. I do not understand the issue I've encountered with the LEDs and Platinum Burners. I did all my testing with the engine off. Your thoughts please.

Looking for some feedback
GolfVenture replied to ranger391's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
How about a DVD player on the back of the drivers back rest so she can watch her favorite chick flicks. Disconnect the screen for the backrest, add some tilting hardware, and the player in the trunk. -
Another winter storage question
GolfVenture replied to ragtop69gs's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Michigan is colder in the winter time than Seattle, however in seattle mine is parked in a fully inclosed and unheated garage, and I do not cover it. You could shine a lamp with a regular light bulb on all the time, maybe that would keep the condensation away. -
Got mine also. Thanks.

My daughter in Vacaville, knows an Air Force Officer that is stationed at Elmendorf AFB in Anchorage. She can also looker Emily up in the Global directory, but she left her last name off. Let me know how I can help. I not available all day for I'm taking my wife to the Airport to Visit our daughter in Vacaville, in the mean time we in the Seattle/Tacoma are experiencing one of our worst winter storms that I've seen this early in 51 years, and so I'll be on the road to the airport mid to late morning, if the airport is open around noon time.

Can someone who rides daily share their experience of the life span of these lights. I understand that they do light up the path really good, but the life span varies.

I also wonder if the seller has a seperate ebay account to bid as a purchaser to hike up the bid.

Blue Head Lamp
GolfVenture replied to GolfVenture's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
I'll post my original question differently. I just added some Wal-Mart Platinum Burners and would like to upgrade my stock head lamp to the blue light, without doing any rewiring. What are my options? -
Blue Head Lamp
GolfVenture replied to GolfVenture's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
2 nearby auto shops does not have cross reference to 64193, which I took out of my 89 VR. Did you happen to log the exact Sylvania Silver Star Bulb number? -
I would like to install one of those light blue head lamps on my 89 VR. Anyone knows what I should get?

One thing to remember about high inflation and hyperinflation is that no one really benefits except a select few. The majority of us, people will be financially ruined because we do not understand inflation and will be left dependent on the government for food, shelter, and medicine. The only thing the average person can do is to preserve their purchasing power through the ownership of hard assets like precious metals and commodities and lead to protect your family. I feel your concern Condor. After watching gold and silver for several years I finally invested in gold and silver about 12 months ago and silver has nearly doubled, of which I invested 90% in silver for most professional advice was to put more in silver for silver has more industry use than gold and silver is only about 60% off it historical highs while gold is conquering new highs..After my initial purchase Silver went down about 20% then it turn around and look at it now. Just have one last thing to say, Would of Could of Should of.

I'll take one. What payment method do you prefer?

You're not alone Capt-D. I've been shoveling since I've delivered papers back in the late 60s.

I'd like to jump on this thread and ask the same question for a 1st Gen (89 VR).

I only go to a casino about 2 or 3 times year and normally on vacations or special outings. I always look for the table game Ultimate Texas Hold Em. It plays kind of like Black Jack where you play against the Dealer. I was introducted to the game in Las Vegas about 3 years where I beat Vegas for $800.00 in about 2 hours. I was a total of $950.00 ahead any my stragedy is to keep pulling chips into my pocket as I win. After having won $950.00 I knew the cards would go cold so I said when I lose the $150.00 I will quit which I did loose eventially loose it and I did quit. I did not play the casino again until several months later at BC where I asked the casino if they would open this table game Ultimate Texas Hold Em, which they did. I was down about $50.00 when the cards got warmer and in about 45 minutes I was $65.00 ahead. It was tough winnings and not having alot of time I quit while I was ahead. My stradegy is to go in with about $200.00 that I'm willing to loose as intertainment. But I find that the cards will normally go cold then cycle to warm up then cold. When I'm about $50 or more ahead I then quite and leave. I did this 2 more times in the past 2 years. The key in casinos is to quit when you re ahead. Most all people do not know when to quit. In this game The dealer or the house does not have a single advantage rule. The only rule is that the dealer must always stay in while you have the choice of folding, which I learned to rarely fold. The part of the bonues chip which is optional is where the house does have an advantage where it pays out on certain hands. Prior to being introducing to this game I've probably lost in casinos bout 75% of the times.

Accessory Wiring ?
GolfVenture replied to GolfVenture's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Well after reading much about horns here, I purchased a set of Stebel TM-80s. Not as loud as your suggested air horns. Being that I will not be adding a switch, only a relay, it will be a bit easier. I do have one question, with the light relay. I put the light relay in the faring CB/Air Compressor Controller compartment. I initially used velcro, and stuck it Up and Off to the Left under the lip of the compartment opening. There is just enought room there for a few relays. Well the stickem part of the Velcro does not stick very good to plastic. So it is just laying there in the compartment for now. I could drill a hole but I do not like drilling into the fairing. I was going to see if the auto store may have some strong double sided 3M tape. What seem to be the groups recommended solution here.- 39 replies
