I played from 5th grade thru high school. Looking back I wished I would have continued thru college. I upgraded to new Olds Recording the summer 69 my sophmore year. I earned it the hard way in the berry fields all summer long. I almost sold it while in college but was encouraged not to sell. I still have it and play it several times a year, just some old favorites. My tone is still good but the high notes just aren't there any more. I played it in my wedding back in 1980. Occasionally played in my local church. Played taps for my brothers funeral for he was a Vietnam Veteran (US Marines). The trumpet is in beautiful condition and is now a collectors item. I used a shamie skin cloth on my left hand to keep the oils from tarnishing the lacquor. I also toot on a bugle, trombone, and a shofar.

I was 17 and hoping to get an appointment to the Air Force Academy.

The Seahawks will survive and make history once again tomorrow. The only team with a loosing regular season to not just win one playoff game but soon to win 2 playoff games. And bring the Championship game to Seattle into the loudest stadium. Quest Field.

Seahawks! Seahawks!! Seahawks!!! Making All Time History. 1st team to have a loosing season to win the Super Bowl !!! With a 1st year new coach. Goooooooooo... Seahawks..........

US Air Force Academy Falcons. A cool clip on the Falcon in flight at 180 mph. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j3mTPEuFcWk&feature=related]YouTube - High-Velocity Falcon[/ame] The average AF lineman is at a weight disadvantage of about 20 lbs each to their counterpart. Yet they play a pretty good game like the game with Oklahoma which AF did loose 24 to 27. Every once in a while they get blown out like the TCU game 7 to 38. But year after year they get a Bowl bid. This year AF beat Georgia Tech 14 to 7 in the Independence Bowl.

The best answer I heard as to why that is, is that when God created man, man was given the responsibility to manage the Garden. So his being is activity oriented. When God Created Woman, she was immediately created into a relationship with the man. So she is constantly tring to establish a relationship with man. And you know the rest of the story. I've heard many sayings about this. The one that seems to work the best for me is " Happy Wife Happy Life."

So go out there and have some fun playing football, keep all the players during all the playoffs free from injuries, give the audience a great game, and if it is your destiny you will bring home a Win. Yahooooooooooooo!! What a game. Nothing but a well played game. I sat next to two Saints supported. They moved from New Orleans about 10 years ago and now live in Spokane. -
Tye and I are going to support our Seattle Seahawks, the only NFL team to ever win a division title with a loosing record. Go..... Seahawks Win or Loose History will be made. Seahawks has nothing to loose, just let it all hang out and get a win. Any kind of a win even and ugly win.

I've read many threads on changing the clutch fluid. So the Bleeder valve has been removed and an oil pan under the VR with it on the center stand. I pulled on the clutch lever slowly a few times to drain most of the fluid. I opened the Reservoir lid. Now I need to get ready to go to work (job). So my thoughts are the fluid will seek its lowest level and therefore in 24 hours most all the old fluid should have been drained. Was wondering if it would be better to have the clutch lever compressed to the handle bar and tied, or does it matter, Just asking, for I do not know if it matters. Yes, I do have a speed valve to install, and I will use new dot 4 brake fluid. My plans are next morning to start pouring new fluid into the reservoir until fresh fluid is seen coming out the drain plug. After that I plan on using Condor's method of reverse fill the fluid from the drain plug up to get all the air bubbles. Oh any suggestions as to how much dot 4 break fluid to purchase, being that once opened that there is an age factor with break fluid. I don't mind having some extras around but not a lot.

89 VR Intregrated Brake ?
GolfVenture replied to GolfVenture's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Thank You for the attached article. I had to read it 4, 5 times to get it into my head and will need to read it a few more times to get rid of the old way of thinking. The weight transfer sample using 1000 lbs and the 300lbs / 250 lbs really helped in the understanding and accepting the benefits of the intregrated braking feature. There is one paragraph that was a bit confusing. It is the 8th paragraph from the bottom. "What if, however, you overuse the front brake while using less rear brake than would cause the rear wheel to lock? Then it is entirely possible to lock the front wheel. This possibility is apparently what concerns inexperienced users the most." I'm thinking that in the 1st sentence " What if, however, you overuse the front brake while using less rear brake than would cause the rear wheel to lock? " the 2nd occurance of the word rear in red should be front? Thank You again for the article. Once my head fully gets onboard with the concepts and features, I really do not need to then think about what is occuring during my breaking. I can then relax more and enjoy the ride knowing that the intregrated braking system is an added safety benefit. In other words just ride and break intutively like the old schooling thinking. Except when moving very slow under slippery road conditions. Did I get it right? -
This Intregrated Brake is new to me. So when I hit the foot brake, one front rotor and the rear rotor are activated. Are the fluid pressure 50/50 front rear or 60/40 or ##/##? When I hit the front brake only with the right hand brake then are both front rotors activiated or just one front rotor? I'm from the old school riding 27 years ago and so I'm still not too comfortable when needing to brake in a turn and say it is wet out. The whole idea of Intregrated Braking seems strange to me. And not having ridden much so far, would welcome any thoughts of comfort. Like does one brake differently in different situations with intregrated brakes vs the old fashion brake system. Or do I brake as if I have the old system and just forget that the brakes are intregrated, and let the new technology do its stuff. As for now I ride kind of conservatively until I get a better understanding, more experience and a better feel for the braking.

If it wouldn't be too much trouble, could you provide a schematic of this procedure.

I didn't know that the bikes were designed to cut the lights when the starter button were pushed. Glad I asked the question. Learned something today. Thank You all.
-
Has anyone put their lights on a switch so one can start the engine without the lights. Then once the engine is running, one can manually put the lights on. In this way one saves battery power in the event one needs to hit the starter more often than normal to get the engine running?
