Any member live near Myrtle Point, Oregon. The reason I ask, is that I'm looking at some Lapidary equipment on ebay. The Seller is from Myrtle Point, OR. Shipping is $200.00 for this item. I would like to save on the shipping or rather spend the $200 in an enjoyable trip. What I would like to do is if I win the bid, is to locate a member that lives really close by and could pick it up for me. Then I could make some arrangements in the summer of 2012 to pick it up. What I could to do is take the lid off my M/C trailer and pull it with my 91 VR and take a weekend trip down the Oregon Coast on hwy 101. I'm from Buckley Wa. about 400 miles away. While I'm down there I would like to visit Bandon Oregon. About 41 years ago I attended the Millard Prep School there. At that time Millard Prep's mission were to assist young men to increase their College SAT scores to qualify for West Point-Army / Annapolis-Navy / Air Force Academy. Today I think it has been purchased by a church and has turned it into a church camp. Kinda like to contact them and take a walk in memory lane. Then I'd like to just visit the famous golf course called the Bandon Dunes. If any member is willing, please PM me soon for there is about 6 days left on the bidding.

Well, I'm no Environmentalist fanitic, however I do recycle paper, glass, plastic, tin cans, aluminum, motor oil. This is because I take my garbage to the local transfer station where I pay by weight, and so by recycling, I try to have my miminum 400 lbs or just a little more so I get my moneys worth. I also have made my own composite containers a few years ago. I purchased a couple of expensive garbage cantainers on wheels with attached lids made from quality plastic. I drilled hundreds of holes into it for air. Then I put some soil in it with some worms and then started to put all my biogradable kitchen food waist. The wheels allow me to move the containers where I want as I develope my property I'd like to put up a big long 3 sided pole barn. If I do I'll need to move the composite containers. Dang my composite containers really works great. I can't believe the amount of food waist I put in there and those worms have mulitplied into thousands and they survive over the last two winters. So the amount of kitchen waist that goes into my septic isn't really that much, just some scraping from the plate. My septic system works great. Not had to pump the tank in 24 years. My property has a gental slope so the flow works really good. Most recently I've acquired two goats to help me clear out some of my property. I put them to work in the summer time to a local homeowner association to keep their water run off area foliage down to meet county requirements. They earn their keep and so they eat well in the winter. This next spring I will be moving my goat panel fence to another area and then bring in a back hoe to clear and level off the area they were kept in. Should be a great area for a garden due to all their droppings. After re-reading this, I think I might have evolved into an environmentalist.

Maybe that it. I think I've been buying the smaller hp disposal. I found one on CostCo online with a 1 hp and a life time warrantee. I should be good to go now. Thanks for the advise.

I seem to go thru garbage disposal, one about every 3 years. How often do you replace your garbage disposal?

Air filter recommendation

I have a 91 VR (2nd Owner) with 7K miles and I'm concluding that it has the origional air filter. I would like to upgrade it to the K&N filter. Is there any carb modifications that is required? -
I bought the Evoline June of 2010. It was my 1st helmet after not riding for 27 years. I read that it was a heavy helmet and that it did not have sufficient air flow for summer cooling. Well it was the flip up and built in sun shade that attracted me. I took 2 days to cover 900 miles. I'm not sure but I think I senced the slight heavyness of the helmet a couple of times, but being my 1st trip in 27 years that my attention was focused on enjoying the ride. My trip was in the middle of Sept 2010 and I did not feel that the helmet was too hot, maybe one might feel the heat if in Arizona in August. Now that I have a couple thousand of miles with the Evoline I do not notice the heavyness of the Helmet. Oh I did order the medium size but had to immediately exchange it for a Small. The sides do squeeze my cheeks, but it has loosen some and I do hope it will loosen more. This summer I ordered one for my wife and I did not say anything about the weight, and so far she has not complained about it. I also did order 2 Sharktooth. My wifes helmet being the newer fits the Sharktooth better than mine in respect to the ear piece and the battery. I did not have to make any modification to my helmet. I just need to be a little more careful with the ear speaker and the battery is harder to hide but I got it hidden pretty good. Riding it as 3/4 helmet is so sweet. It more than compensate for some lack in other areas. Oh I did asked Evoline if they would come out with an amber to swap out for the darker sunshades. But no answer yet.

I would like to connect a cross bar to where the handle bar last bends before reaching each end of the handle bar. So one can mount more accessories. Like a GPS, an Action Camera etc. Kinda of like the one in the attached picture I got off ebay. Has anyone in this group done something like that to the 1st Gen.
-
Anyone made a handle bar cross bar for our 1st Gen?

Thanks for the info. Just got back from Radio Shack with the Garmin 1390. I'll check for room on my handle bar. Has anyone made a bar to go across the handle bar using the handle bar bolts?
-
Any one have any opinions on this Garmin 1390. I was especially interested in the blue tooth feature. Radio Shack has them for 129.99 LMT. Not sure if it is a refurbished one or not. Also anyone purchased one of these GN032 + WPCS2 Bike Mount & Case, Garmin Nuvi 1390T 1690 from ebay. It is not water proof, but was interested in its capabilities of working the touchscreen through the plastic face case?

That looks like much more fun than Skiing or Snow boarding. Well at least it takes a lot less effort.

I hope Washington State do not follow suite. I have 5 vehicles and I at times let my tabs expire depending on which vehicle I'm currently driving.

My 1st computer was a Radio Shack Color Computer 4K. I actually wrote an accounting system for an independent trucker hauling logs. It used a cassette for input and data storage. It did monthly, quarterly, and yearly statements. Then I moved up to a Tandy Model III with 48K and two 5 1/4 floppys. Years later I got a Gateway 486 DX2 66. And I still have all the hardware and software. They all work except the Gateway won't boot up. Another one of my projects is to get that Gateway up and running. I designed/coded in Paradox an employee database then interfaced it with an org chart software automatically creating org charts. I decided that after Windows 95 that I wanted a life and so pretty much no longer stayed technical with the Windows Operating System. Today I like my life simplier and just a user these days.

Has anyone converted the lights around the circumference of the Rotor Covers to LEDs? Being that there are so many lights, my thoughts are that the lights combinations from both sides could be a significant draw.

Found a good size and long crack in my basement cement floor. It's about 1/8 inch wide and 5 feet long. Could be longer when I get to the other side of the wall and replace that carpet also. I plan on using fix-all to fill inthe gap. My questions is, is there something better to fill in the crack or does it even matter. Also I plan on putting DryLok (Home Depot - Masonry WaterProofer) on the cement floor before laying new wood floor and carpet. Is this a good Idea. My wife believes that mold is a health issue that our medical world has not done much research and really is ignoring this issue. There is paint residue from the initial buildng process on the cement floor, but not much. Or will such a waterproofing cause more of a mildue and mold issue. I was thinking that maybe it is better to allow the cement floor to breath. Thanks for your opinion. PS I do not have a water problem in the basement for I'm on a gently sloping piece of property.
