Do we have any cabinet makers here, I need advice
GolfVenture replied to Midrsv's topic in Watering Hole
I do not know much about remodeling, however this summer, for the 1st time I installed hardwood floor and this tool was the solution for many a challenging situations. I bought it from HF one day for it look like something I could use and it was on sale so I bought it. -
I say Thank You by anonymously paying for their lunch or dinner once a month. Plenty of opportunities for I live close to McChord AFB and Fort Lewis. My son is always asking me if I'm going out to eat. He is Army SF.

89 Venture - Mileage life span
GolfVenture replied to KIC's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
I started a Thread named " How Many Miles Does Your 1st Gen Have ???". That will answer some of your question. -
I agree. Thanks.

I do have a 2nd one that works fine. Do not have the origional installation/owners guide, not the origional owner. None of the functions work on the broken remote.

not the speedo ....... (?)
GolfVenture replied to barend's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Ok, I made my fitting (See picture). Most everything around the speedo is removed except some wires. I'll put some plumbers tape on the speedo threads and install the fitting finger tight being that the fitting is pipe threads and the speedo is metric. If think it will turn about 2 or 3 turns. I have some lithium boat wheel bearing grease in my grease gun. Is that an ok grease to use? If so I'll use the same grease to lube the entire cable? -
It is a 94 Saturn SC2 besides it is an aftermarket (Clifford). Wouldn't trobleshooting a remote be kinda of similar across different makes? Sure like to try. Where do I start? See picture.

Ok, you make it sound like something I can do. Thanks.

Has anyone ever been sucessful in fixing the keyless entry remote. I have one that went dead. Tried a new battery, cleaned the terminals still dead. If you have how would one go about trouble shooting to determine which electric component needs replacing?

So if one take the NiCD apart are there 18 cells I'm guessing. Then there is a plus and a minus to each cell then do the welding trick on each cell Zap to lower the volt reading then reverse the leads and zap several times. Clean off each ends then measure for a highter volt reading near the 18 volts. Then clean off the ends. Not having taken an 18 Volt NiCd appart. Guess for now just buy another NiCD then look for a neighbor with a welder some day.
-
So the battery is an 18 volt NiCD and my battery charger is a 12 volt at 50 amp max. So I guessing the answer is no. I do not have anything that is greater than 18 volts.
-
Is that the only way to zap a NiCD is with a welder? I do not know what is happening when one zaps it with a welder. So here is my stupid question. Can I do the same with a 50 amp battery charger without damaging the charger?

Does anyone know if this really works? Found it on Ebay? I expect someone will just say to use the recharger. ZAP-IT® BACK TO LIFE for RYOBI ONE+ NiCD DRILL BATTERY 7.2 9.6 12 14.4 18 VOLT

Hmmm. Hinshaw Motorcycle Co in Auburn sells Hondas, Yamahas, Suzukis, Victorys, KTMs and Leham Trikes all in the same show room.

Being that it is a house, give your wife's opinion much consideration.

I plan on hooking it up to a push button switch, so when pushed it is on and let go it is off. I made a bracket that holds two switches that goes next to the horn button. See picture. The picture might need rotating, but the square hole goes over the horn button and the two round holes will accomodiate two push buttons and the other small hole is the mounting screw that is used to keep the horn/etc switch housing together. I'll probabaly need to scrape some paint off the left of the horn button to the metal part of my bracket so can be welded using JB Weld. Heck if I don't like it on the Venture I can install it for my RV.

Has anyone installed a "Rear View Safety Camera System" on their Venture? If so how is it working for you?
