I had a little squeak in my VRII Speedo Bearing. I had a friend with a machine shop and he made this out of aluminum. It works just great. So I thought I would present a group buy opportunity. Just response here and after a week or two I'll see what kind of quantity order we get and then see what kind of price I can get for that quantity. This would be a non committal response. Once I get the price then I will ask each if they are still interested in an order. I'm guessing that the coupling are the same for MKI and MKII. Could someone check please. Also if some could find out if the Speedometer coupling for a 1st Gen is the same as a 2nd Gen.

Ya I put a set on also. Plus a couple even smaller ones up by the mirrors activated by a push button switch as flashers to get the attention of on comming traffic if needed. -
Yep I agree, plus having reached my golden 60s and would like to hang around for my 70s and possibly the 80s. Don't know if I want to be around much past that depending on my health, I just thought it be a bit of interesting information. Plus speaking for myself, I'm not as dumb as I once used to be, to try now. In my dumber years, I bought a new 1980 1100 Goldwing. My owning a Goldwing is not what I mean by "In my dumber years". What I did mean by it was that I really wanted to say that I have gone over 100 mph. Here is how dumb I was. In my attempt I got pissed of as the speedometer approached 85 mph for it would not register any faster for there was an Id10t peg at 85 mph. And the really dumb thing was that I knew about the 1d10t peg at 85 mph before attempting. And the dumbest thing of all was that I tried several times and to this day I can not say that I know for sure that I've ever gone faster than 100 mph. I mean how can a biker be a true blue biker, but can't honestly and consciously brag that going over 100mph is a kick. I can only say that I think I gone faster than 100mph. Try it the next time you're out with some bikers and like most bikers they like to brag a lot. Ya I remember when I was on I-90 going west to North Dakota, I opened the throttle. Wow it felt so good to think that I possible might have gone faster than 100 mph. You'd get some strange looks. But my youthful dumbness sometimes starts to come back only when I'm out riding and I know the road ahead of me is straight as an arrow for a few miles. The dumbness becomes so hard to suppress when I look at my 91 VR speedometer and I see no Id10t peg anywhere on the speedometer. You know when you're going 85 mph and knowing that only 16mph more then I would have earned the bragging rights. The only thing that keeps the dumbness in check is that I also don't know what the speeding ticket would be and that would depend on what the roads speed limit is. Let me see most speed limit in Washington highways is maybe tops 65 mph. It might be higher in some places. Hmmm that might be some good information to know. Maybe there might be some place in Washington where the highway speed is 75mph. Anyone in Eastern Washington know that. Then all I need to know is what the speeding ticket would be for going 16 over. Then if I could just balance my check book to know if I could afford it. I can just see it now. I get stopped by a State Trooper and he asks me do you know how fast you were going. I'd look at him with my Senior Citizen eyes and shake my head no. He say you were going over 100 mph. I'd ask him how much faster was I going. You were going 1 hundred and ## mph. Really, can I see that on your radar. Can it print that out. So tell me why you were going over 100 mph. Well Officer, I hope you also have been a rider or are currently riding or one day want to be a rider. See officer it’s like this................................. .. So you see officier, soon my riding days will be over and I got to have something to brag about in my sunset years as I tell this story to my grand children. Now you could be a Good Cop or a Bad Cop in my bragging story, which would you prefer to be Officier Friendly?

Anyone knows approximately the speed of an MKII at low redlined and high redlined in each gear?

I've used PlasticX on the plastic cassette cover on my 89 & 91 VR and it takes out all the tiny scratch lines. For some deeper scratches one has to work on them longer. I've never tried it on the helmet visor. What ever you buy try it on your 85 VR Cassette cover, if you still have your VR that is on your profile.

Anyone know how to repair Vinyl. I have some cracking and a couple of very small spots where the top layer of the vinyl is gone. It would be nice to seal it so to stop the cracking from getting worst and to seal the tiny spots where the top layer has pealed off.

Maybe M/C could be equiped with a sending unit and cars have detecting units, informs cagers that a M/C is on their 10 oclock 200 feet ahead.

I'm going to Install Progressives on my 91 VR very soon. I would like to know how much additional work and time is it to replace the fork seals for a so so back yard mechanic. My MKII has only 7200 miles. I bought it from the origional owner last year. It has always been stored in a heated garage. Its never been rained on. Everything about it looks like it just came off the show room floor. He has licensed it every year only rarely rode it. I myself would be lucky if I put maybe 2000 miles on per year on the average over the next 10 years. I recall reading some on replacing fork seals and my recollection tells me that it is quite a job. Right now I'm leaning on not replacing them unless if I can be convinced that the job is fairly easy and 21 year old seals with 7200 miles really need replacing badly.

I eat a lot of Kim Chee and I'm hitting the big 60 soon and I can do some nasty farts. Just this last year I did a fart that lasted over 30 seconds.

Tote Gote At 14, my rock hound family used it to haul out lots of rocks. It had a hi and low speed only you had to stop inorder to shift it. Today I have the entire family rock collection in my garage. There must be a couple of tons. Keeping an eye out for a 12 in saw, got all the other equipment. At 17, bought a new 69 Kaw 90cc G3TR Bushmaster. I used it to deliver papers. I still have it and plan on striping it down to the frame and restoring it back to origional condition, as best as I can. All I need is the right battery side cover. At 23 when I left the Air Force I bought this new 74 Yamaha TX500 in Denver Colorado and rode it home changing oil on the way. My brother wrecked it trying to negotiate a 15 mph corner doing 55 mph. We were lucky that there were no vehicle coming the other direction. Just some scratches and bruses. had to unbend the front forks. At about 60 mph the front forks would vibrate. At 25 bought a new 74 YZ125. I never raced it. I still have it and it is in really good condition. I plan on restoring it also. All I need is the round racing plate. At 28 bought a new 80 Goldwing, thought I would never sell it until, I started to raise a family. At 58, bought an 89 Venture Royale with 26K, thought I would ride it into my sunsetting years. Well it has less that 27K now. At 59 while looking for a parts VR for my 89 I found this 91 VR with 6500 miles from the origional owner. If you see it, it looks like it just came off the show room floor. I'm going to ride this VR into my sunsetting years. Hmmm I've said that before and I'm now looking for a 90 to 93 parts bike. It currently has about 7200 miles. I know my 91 is a pretty tall heavy bike for me and so at some point I'll may want to trike it if I want to keep riding.

Me too. She probably would come if I towed it. Boring.
