  1. Its been nearly 5 months workng on remodeling my basement apt. Sealed Cement Floor, New Paint, New Wood Floor and Carpet/Pad; New Shower doors, New Kitchen Island. Now I can get my VR ready for some summer fun. Progressive Springs, New Lights, amd misc gadgets to add.
  2. I just bought this chrome radiator grill from ebay. It cleaned up nicely. Just one thing, the bottom left corner is bent in and there are some hairline stress lines on the chrome. You can't feel the stress lines. There are two very small spots on the curved edge part where the chrome has chipped. On the back side you can see and feel where the chrome has buckled. I want to bent it back out but am concerned about the chrome. Being that it is on the bottom one probably can't see the bend and so I could just leave it bent. I've included 3 pictures. 1) Good Right side, 2) Bent Left side, 3) Hairline Stress lines. The camera seemed to have enhanced the stress lines more than it really looks. I've not rebent chrome pieces myself and so open to advise. Is there something one should put on the shipped chrome to prevent it from gettnig worst. Also I believe there is supposed to be a "V" Venture Emblem top center. Where can one get them?
  3. I only have 3 left of these, and one is on hold for now. If you want one later it will cost much more. So for $21.00 US and $23 Canada you can own one of these tools.
  4. My Brother submitted an invention to www.quirky.com and could use your vote that it would be worth inventing. Hit the link and enter "Car Door Protector" into the search field. 5. What I found helps is to excel chart my weight daily at the same time in the morning in my birthday suit after I get rid of some waste and before I eat or drink anything. The day when my weight ticks upward, I try extra hard to monitor what I ear the rest of the day. In Jan 2010 I started at 181 lbs and in 9 months I got down to 155 lbs, now currently maintaining about 165. I only eat lunch and dinner. I also kept telling myself that hunger feeling feels good. And when I would feel hungry I knew that my body would be converting stored fat into energy needed by my body. Try it it might work for you.
  6. ok, thanks. Will call a tow truck.
  7. Heres a link of various members opinions of Fuel Injections vs Carbs.. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=25207
  8. This is probably a dumb question. I think there is something wrong with my fuel injectors. Can a person roll this type of vehicle down hill and pop the clutch and get the cylinders to pump/suck fuel to start. If so then will the car stay running until shut off.
  9. I'm concerned pulling it in would put too much pressure and later could cause it to crack.
  10. I'm having a challenge installing my clearview xxl tinted shield. First, I come to a conclusion that I need to get all 4 longer screws. The shield thickness is much thicker than my stock shield making the stock screws too short.. Second the shield curve up by the mirror installation, where the screw goes in, there is a bend in the shield to match the curvature of the faring. The bend does not butt up to the curvature of the faring. When I screw the screw in with the metal washer/collar, in order to get the screw tight I'm pushing the shield bend towards the fairng until the metal washer/coller butts up to the bracket. Is the bend of the shield suppose to butt up again the faring or is it ok to just screw the screw in with the metal washer/collar tight until the metal washer/collar butts up against the bracket. I'd appreciate talking to someone who recently installed a clearview xxl & tall shield on an MKII.
  11. You should ask what the max gallon or dollar amount purchase is, then bring more 5 gallon cans.
  12. If I was to be buying that new of a bike and especially one that is consider new, I'd make sure I go after a fuel injected bike. Carburator issue seems to always be at the top of problem troubleshooting issues.
  13. I have a friend with an 85 Goldwing, and he can't seem to Bleed the rear brakes. Any Goldwing owners have any suggestions?
  14. Seattle/Tacoma about 3.89 to 3.94 for the cheaper gas. I buy my gas at Safeway and try to make my grocery purchases in multiples of $50 for each $50 spent I get 10 cents per gallon off. So when I gas up I normally have a 10 or 20 cents per gallon credit on my account. I normally bring enough 5 gallon cans so I can buy $100.00 (max) worth of gas as I make a run to Safeway or home depot or some other local business. I have a 1 in syphon with a 1 way valve on it to make the transfer really easy and quick. I fill my Venture and cars at home. I save a little here and a little there. Works out ok when gas prices are on the upswing. One time I had a 40 cent per gallon discount and so I brought my RV and my wife drove the other car. The pump auto shut off at $100.00 max and/or I think 35 gallons max. But it is nice filling my Venture from home for I get to top it off right to the brim before I take off. Nice not having to stop at a gas station. From my drive way I take a left to the business area, or take a right and I'm out in the woods on a 2 lane road with very little traffic. I think so far the max times I've topped the Venture off is about 10 times before the gas level no longer drops.
  15. Take a look at the Shark Evoline http://video.search.yahoo.com/video/play?p=shark%20evoline%20series%202&tnr=21&vid=1532022359110&l=162&turl=http%3A%2F%2Fts1.mm.bing.net%2Fvideos%2Fthumbnail.aspx%3Fq%3D1532022359110%26id%3D102b2513ec30933823c79eae0f061d5f%26bid%3DmzwTEvwQhhFslg%26bn%3DThumb%26url%3Dhttp%253a%252f%252fwww.youtube.com%252fwatch%253fv%253dR6909TmfoSo&rurl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DR6909TmfoSo&sigr=11a23v1gk&newfp=1&tit=Shark+Evoline+Series+2+Helmet
  16. I have a motorcycle friend who just made a custom tool so that I can grease my speedometer bearing. He has a milling machine and lathe. He will be making 20 of these for the ordes I've received so far. Were were talking and I asked him if he would be interesed in ideas that members might have a need for tools, brackets, or other creative ideas. He is willing to intertain these ideas with possible solutions. He can make all sorts of things made out of various material and also anodize them if needed. One of his local customers is the Boeing Company so his machines has a lot of capabilities. His cost bases are very reasonable. Let me know if anyone has an idea and we can present them to the group to see if there might enough interest to move forward. He has a couple older Goldwings he is restoring and it really fun and interesting sharing stories of ideas. He is working on another idea of mine and as soon as I get a working prototype I'll share it with the group.
  17. http://www.plastex.net/ It was pretty expensive kit, but sure glad I bought a big kit for I've done many a repairs for so much is made out of plastic.
  18. I've heard the saying that one can tell the health of the economy by the robuskness of the shoe repair business. PlasticX saved me probably $40 fixing the heals on 2 pairs of my wife's shoes. This is probably the 3rd fix in about 18 months for a total of $120.00
  19. You could sync it at my place 30 minutes east of Tacoma. Pick a nice day, when you finish you could ride thru Mt Rainier to Yakima to The Dalles to Portland. I have a new Carbtune.
  20. Yes. The Dash/Speedometer does NOT need to be removed. I removed the headlight, the windshield and the black dash cover. I probably could have gotten by with only removing the headlight, for my hand size is a medium. I think it would be a tight fit and a challenge. But by removing the windshield and the black dash cover you can use the other hand to help and you can see better.
  21. I forgot to mention that the $19.50 price is for the 50 US states. For Canadian providances, once I get the addresses I'll check with the post office for additional shipping cost.
  22. Forgot to add the picture
  23. So far we have a total of 11 interested. If I can get a total of 20 orders the cost would be $19.50 each and that would include me buying the mailer and also the postage. I myself would be willing to buy 3 extra making it a total of 14, for those who might be interested after the order is placed. Of the 11 interested maybe there might be 6 people that would buy 2, being that this is a pretty darn good price and might want to give one to a friend for say a Birthday or maybe a Christmas present or maybe your friend did you a favor and you just want to say thank you. For anyone buying two the 2nd would be $17.00 for 2.50 less on the mailer and shipping. So please indicate if you, the below, want 1 for 19.50 and if you would be interested in ordering 2. In your reply I need your Name Mailing Address. If the total confirmed order count is less than 20, I will then ask for a new price for that order and get back to each that order. friesman1 MasterGuns Flyinfool dingy yamtom Wizard765 camos KIC gscbertrand Indiana Hayseed PB&J .
  24. So Sing Along. US Coast Guard: We're always ready for the call, We place our trust in Thee. Through surf and storm and howling gale, High shall our purpose be. "Semper Paratus" is our guide, Our fame, our glory, too. To fight to save or fight and die, Aye! Coast Guard we are for you! US Air Force: Off we go into the wild blue yonder, Climbing high into the sun; Here they come zooming to meet our thunder, At 'em boys, Give 'er the gun! (Give 'er the gun now!) Down we dive, spouting our flame from under, Off with one helluva roar! We live in fame or go down in flame. Hey! Nothing'll stop the U.S. Air Force! US Navy: Anchors Aweigh, my boys, Anchors Aweigh. Farewell to college joys, we sail at break of day-ay-ay-ay. Through our last night on shore, drink to the foam, Until we meet once more. Here's wishing you a happy voyage home. US Marines: From the Halls of Montezuma To the shores of Tripoli We fight our country's battles On the land as on the sea. First to fight for right and freedom And to keep our honor clean; We are proud to claim the title Of United States Marines. US Army: First to fight for the right, And to build the Nation’s might, And The Army Goes Rolling Along. Proud of all we have done, Fighting till the battle’s won, And the Army Goes Rolling Along. Then it’s hi hi, hey! The Army’s on its way. Count off the cadence loud and strong For where’er we go, You will always know That The Army Goes Rolling Along.
  25. Ok, I've informed that MKI & MKII Speedo coupling are the same. The 2nd Gen has an electronic speedometer.
