  1. Being that my left hand/wrist has pins and screws that it will be months before I know how much of it I will regain of it, with massive theropy. It is virtually use less. My right ribs and collar bone broken in several places, my right fingers and arm gets really sore and tired. So when you come accross any 1st Gen that could support me justifing a case to receiving more than NADA $5095. please post here, When I get home I will continue. 1) finish the patch order 2) work the thumb switch order 3) work the side cover panel rail bar. 4) turn buckle accessory cross bar. 5) Introduce a new 1st Gen Patch. Thanks in advance Brian
  2. Went down near Tonopah NV. last Tuesday 19th of June. I lost control of the VR. Broken right ribs, right collar bone, left hand and wrist. some rear road rash. no head, neck, back nor leg injuries. Oh ya, right lung punchured. My beautiful 91 VR with 9200 miles is totaled. Hand & wrist surgury done. I should be getting out of the UMC, Las Vegas in 2 days. Vacation started great on sat 16th june, ride down from Buckley Wa. Leaving Las Vegas monday morning for Vacaville where my daughter is an RN, Will spend a a few weeks there to heal up before taking the drive back to Buckley. Looking for ideas to get the highest value for my 91 VR, It was like it just rode off the show room floor. It was that nice.
  3. Butlers Modification. Just Saturday I rode 780 miles, and no but sores.
  4. Sacramento is hitting a heat waive around 105 this weekend. So I would like to know how to cloth under garments properly in this type of heat. Since I'm coming into that area. First of all I leaned the acro ATGATT for riding in extreme heat. But what about under garment. In more reasonable riding temp from 70s to 80s, under my Tour Master Transition Jacket with zipper air pockets and my Tour Master Air Pants, I wear a T-shirt and long jeans, so when I reach my destination I just remove my riding gear. So when one is riding long distance and gets caught in a heat wave of like 100 + degrees what would be best to combat the heat. 1) Keep the Jeans and T-shirt on. 2) How about Shorts and a T-shirt. 3) How about a specility item. The thinest, undergarment that has excellect moisture wicking properties. If 3 is the best recommendation then, being that your entire body is giving of moisture would full length sleeve or short length sleeve be better? 4) Or maybe something better??? Oh, all this would be in consideration with one wearing a cooling vest and a cooling neck wrap. I know also that one needs to have a large hikers drinking back pack. Inaddition to water one needs something like Gatoraid or Propel drink also.
  5. Pass me your address, for I will be going South I-5 past Olympia about 4:45 am tomorrow. I'll honk my 4 Stebel TM80 136 db horns at you. That is if I can get on the road by 4:00 am. Heading South on I-5 to Vancouver then heading South East over Mt Hood taking 97 South. Going to do the Crater Lake loop then to Klamath Falls Or. Then to Reno/South Lake Tahoe to Vacaville. You game for a 4:45 am ride?
  6. Darn, I will have passed this event on both side of my visit To Vacaville. I'll have another reason to plan another ride to Vacaville next summer.
  7. I've been told that adding more fork oil will stiffen the ride and removing oil will soften the ride. So what does adding or reducing front fork air do to the ride?
  8. In my thread "My New Thumb Switch Mount" Bongobobny said the my new thumb switch might look like it could fit a 2nd Gen. I know a couple neighbors with a 2nd Gen so for all you 2nd Gen owners if you are interested in a modified version of the thumb switch please indicate so on this thread. It is important that if you are interested that you post so I can get a rough count. If the numbers are good enough my machiniest friend and I will look into it when I return from vacation. Attached are some pictures of the switch on my 1st Gen. I've hooked SW#1 to a set of 1 inch by 2 inch 55 watt Plattium Burners from Walmart. I call them "Can You See Me Now" Lights. My 2nd switch is being reserved for KIC's instructions to activate your garage opener from a 2nd switch.
  9. Going for a ride from Buckley Wa. to Vacaville CA this weekend. Get to spend it with my daughter and grand daughter and son-in-law.
  10. So far we got 11 interested. When I get back from my vacation I'll move foward with this.
  11. So far 12 interested. Plus one more for me, that be 13. Lets keep it going. When I return from my vacation I move forward with this. Hopefully there will be a few more interested.
  12. NADA saids my 91 is worth $5050.00 in excellent shape. It only has 8500 miles and it looks nearly brand new. But I plan on dropping the collision probably around Nov to April. Infact when the agent wrote in the added collision she said that being that I'm in Washington to do exactly that. Basically I'm only adding it because I'm takinga 3 week riding vacation.
  13. I'm looking at adding collision to my Venture. Whats a good site for replacement value for insurance purposes?
  14. As the saying goes more ways to skin a cat. Just consider that with a Turn Buckle Cross Bar you have some flexibility as to where you want to place it. Your desire for placing the bar in various placed may change as your riding preference for accessory location may change. If you want to be counted as interested then please indicate so. It is just an interest count, eventually the more interest we have the better price we'll possible get.
  15. It seems like there are members that might be interested in this item and are waiting to see what the price would be, and have not posted. Well if you have just an interest, I would encourage each to post that you are interested and the quantity since some member have multi Ventures. For example say we got 20 that were just interested. Then my friend would say for 20 he would make them for X amount each. I would then relate that back to this group and ask how many want one for that amount. We would go from there until we could get a firm price for a specific quatity for some may drop out and then others may jump in. So for those who are interested and have not expressed it, please do so on this thread.

  17. Right now I'm only asking for those interested to post so I can get an idea of interest. The more that just shows interest then there is a very good chance that the item would be very affordable. Just indicate 1st or 2nd Gen and quantity since some have multi Ventures.
  18. Kic: Due to the lack of interest, my friend hasn't even thought of a price except that he said it would be pretty expensive to make one or two. He has a way to make it adjustable but there has been very llittle interest in that also. I was hoping that there would be more interest from the 2nd Gen group for had there been the main center piece and the adjustable piece would be the same. Maybe do a bump near Christmas time and see if there might be more interest. I get things that I wouldn't normally buy during the year. When I get back I'll see if I can get a price for two, 5, 10, 15 and 20 quantities, just for the entertainment.
  19. Your first package will contain all but the 3 1/2 in patch. The 3 1/2 inch patches hopefully will be in my mail box after I return in mid July, andI will get them out ASAPly.
  20. Ok on MKI. Its just that the MKI covers to me looks a bit different and I didn't think that the accessory would fit both. But if they do that be even better. If someone could confirm that, sure would be helpful.
  21. In the two years I've been a Venture MKII owner, I have not ever seen a set of these every for sale anywhere. Infact I think I've only seen them on 3 Ventures so far. So before I investigate the process to maufacture these, it would be helpful to know how many MKII owners would really be interested in a set. I've already collected some data on the dimensions. So if you are interested please post here. I will assume 1 set unless you specify more than 1.
  22. Was wondering with OEM tire size, how acurate is the 1st Gen Speedo?
