  1. The ETX20L (O'Reily's) is a smaller battery than my old battery for my 89 VR. Is that what every one else has found for their MKII. What did you do to fill in the gap so the battery does not slide around. Now O'Reily's did have an AGM battery the exact size I need but it was like 240 ccp.
  2. I found the thread that Bongobobny was referring to.... http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=58706
  3. The collar bone, ribs, lungs (all right side are doing fine). On 1 Oct , I had my surgury on my left had then yesterday I had my follow up surgury, where the sitches came all. a few of the 8 wrist bones were dug out of the hand and puzzled back together. 5 pins are in place to keep the bones in place as it heals and as I go through theropy. Thanks for offering to come up and help. My wife can take me around to do small errons. Thanks again for looking out for me.
  4. What is the best battery for my 89 VR and besided doing mail order can I purchase it locally in Washington State.
  5. I learned this summer that Cash Value is ACV or Actual Cash Value per my ins co terminology. ACV is subject to ones supportive argument, or unless you want to specifically state what you want for your m/c if in a totaled situation. But then you will probably pay more for your policy. My 91 VR had 9600 miles and was about as close to show room condition as a used 91 VR could be and had about $2500 in extra accessories. First my ins co wanted to give me $3500 based on KKB ($2940) plus 2 m/c comps. of $3000.00 on a 90 VR an a 92 VR. Then gave me an additional $500.00 for low mileage. So I came back with NADA Excellent Value of $5085, and several m/c of $4500.00 on VRs that were about 5 years older than my 91 VR . Then added the $500.00 for low mileage the ins co was giving me. That supports mt NADA Excellent of $5085. I also argued that NADA has 5 conditional value for Excellent, Very Good, Good, Fair & Poor While KKB only had 1 Value. Then I saw that the KKB Value was about $470.00 less from NADAs Very Good Value of $3410. I made a conclusion that KKB single value is probably equivalent to NADAs Very Good value for the NADAs Good value was $1600. So I created an Algebraic expression to calculate KKBs Excellent Value, since I knew the following. NADAs Excellect, NADA Very Good, KKBs Very Good. But I did not know KKBs Excellect Value. So here I how I calculated KKBs Excellent Value. NADAs Excellect KKBs Excellect _______________ = _____________ Now plug in the values NADAs VeryGood KKBs VeryGood $5085 KKBs Excellent _____ = _____________ $3410 $2940 You cross multiply ($5085) x ($2940) = ($3410) x KKBs Excellent Then you divide each side by ($3410) to solve for KKBs Excellect KKBs Excellent would = $4385 Oh I also called on both the ins co m/c comps and discovered The 90 was in excellent condition except it had damages on the non pictured side. The 92 CASS was not working. So I said that if each of these owners were claiming that their VR were in excellent value but did not disclose these damages on their add, then I could conclude that there could be other hidden damage that art not being disclosed. So I totally disallowed these comps. Each step I took I kept building my case. The ins co then offered $4012 which was calculated by adding NADAs Excellent ($5085) + KKB Single Value ($2940) divide by 2 = $4012 Then they added $500 for low mileage = $4512 Oh along the way I did mentioned that the Book values are naked VRs with the Royale package. So new I need compensation for my $2500 of accessories. And these accessories of $2500 was ebay purchases in the last two years. Well I did not get the $2500 added to the $4512 for a total of $6912, but the ins co did allow $750 for accessories. Making it $5212.00. During this negotiation process I did come down to about $5450. I was going to see if the ins co would split the difference but I decided not to push to any farther so I accepted the $5212 + licenses fee + sales tax = about $5850.00. Looking back I should have tried splitting the difference. So the ACV is all what you and the ins co come to an agreement to. PS: Also my policy specifically stated that the ACV would be a max of $3500.00. The voice recording of my talk with the sales agent did not record anything about a max ACV of $3500.00 but rather reference to book value. The other thing is that the claim started on 19 June and we settled in late September. I never onced called the ins co. I forced them to call me or email 1st all the time. And I was willing to go the full 3 years. Ins co has to review all their claims every few days and the longer a claim is open the worst it looks on the claims agent. The claims agent also has some authority before going to its supervisor.
  6. I totally agree with you Mike. I read each reply hoping to see if someone would mention if the reverse occurred that the dealer would happly refund. How many vehicle sales you think occurers everyday where the public payes more than the car is worth.
  7. The only ones I've tried are the Markland Hyway boards. They were not all that comfortable. Guess I'll spring for one before next summer. Thanks for the feedback.
  8. Where did you find it and how much. I'm looking to replace mine for my MKII. Looking for one in gray or black.
  9. Wondering if you would share the type of hyway pegs you've installed on your MKII and why you like them.
  10. You know, I recall having a lot of issues with my progressive springs earlier this year. They were hard as concrete and I put the block offs on also at the same time. I ended up using 10 wt oil, no spacers, only the washer, kept the block offs on. But I measured down to 7 inches of oil and found the ride a bit softer but still very firm. I went with it that way. I only weight in at 170/175 lbs. However, I was able to move the forks up and down, by grabing the wheel. I did have the oil in, and without the caps off. That was in my 91 VR. Now on my 89 VR, I also put progressive springs in, kept the ADs on for a few members said that in an emergency that the AD would come in handy. I put 10 wt oil in but I removed 9 inches of oil for I still wanted a bit more softer ride. I was told that even at 9 inches of oil removed that all the fork internals would still get well lubricated. And I figured I could experiment with the air to get the ride I want. Just one thing. I won't be able report on the ride on my 89 VR until next year when I recover fully from my accident. I've managed to get enough movement on my fingers to make a fist aboput 75%. That was enough for my hand/wrist Dr. So I'll be in surgury this coming Monday to get my 8 or so wrist bones in there proper location and some reconstructive bone surgury.
  11. I have an extra set of ADs if you want to come and try them since you're only about 30 minutes away.
  12. Condor (Jack) has them.
  13. I saw some instructions in the 1st Gen maintenance folder on eingine swap. Was wonder if anyone has documented a more detail procedure. Also any differences to consider when putting a 91 VR into an 89 VR.
  14. What to buy Where to Buy Whats a fair price Whats the mininum on the rotor. I'm pretty sure mine has plenty of meat to turn. Just like to know the mininum limit.
  15. The ebay add then must be a typo. They look like 1300 passenger arm rest and not 1200. Thanks.
  16. Are they the same...Interchangeable...
  17. Where is the 90 VR?
  18. Anyone have a good step by step procedure on how to swap an MKII carb. My 89 carbs are acting up and would like to put the carbs from my wrecked 91 in. Then I'll rebuild the 89 carb.
  19. I got this idea from Condor (Jack). Just used thin nylon rope with wire end connectors
  20. My local Drag Specialist distributor wants $15.00 for shipping for a $2.95 Baron Mini Lens. Something I can mail for about $2.00. Looking for a non cracked Baron Mini Lens like the small one in the picture. It can be amber or red and the color can be really bad for I will be painting it red to match the others that I've already painted. I will be willing to buy the lens and pay for postage.
  21. Thanks, I found them
  22. I can't seem to find them. Any search hints?
  23. Can't seem to find them on the search.
  24. I have 3 accessories. 1) Markland Trailer Hitch; 2) Lower Chrome wrap around lights; and 3rd) the Lower Chrome Side bag protector guard. My question is can I mount the Markland Trailer Hitch and the Side Bag Chrome Guard first and the Lower wrap round lights later with out taking off the Markland Trailer Hitch?
  25. I've never seen a state map all filled in. I can't tell if Hawaii is colored in or not.
