If near Colorado Springs, visit the United Air Force Academy (Class of 77). Breath taking open campus. At the visiting area near the Chaple you should ask any cadet, if there are any around, if he or she would give you a personal tour of the campus. Most would love to for most are away from home and would like to talk to civilians. http://www.usafa.af.mil/information/visitors/index.asp Travel over the Royal Gorge, highest suspension bridges in the world. http://royalgorgebridge.com/NewsEvents/NewsDetail.aspx?ID=10 Just be prepared for the daily afternoon summer thunder storms.

Aux Light Switch Options
GolfVenture replied to gwashorn's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Take a look at this idea. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=70504&highlight=Switch I might have one left, if not I can ask what he'll charge to make one. -
No, but the end of the bike can stick out for I can eliminate the back part of the trailer easily and I could put a bar just in front of the bikes back rest connecting the 2 sides to give the 2 sides support. I can also raise the trailer jack to eliminate the bike clearance, as the trailer is hooked to the van hitch. Maybe my machinest friend could make me a sturdy metal ramp.

I have a 4 ft by 8 ft trailer with 3ft sides. I would like to make a ramp so I can drive my 1st Gen MK2 up onto it. The ramp will probably be 3 ft by 8 ft. The bed of the trailer is 22 inchs high. I thought of using 3/4 in plywood as the ramp, but I need to beef it up to handle the weight of the Venture plus my weigth of 180 lbs plus some for fulled loaded trunk and side bags. I can carry the ramp on the outside of the side of the trailer. Also there are 6 holes at the back of the metal frame extending out so I can push a 1/2 in metal rod through it in that way I can devise something to hook the ramp to the trailer so the ramp will not fall off the trailer while loading and unloading. Any suggestions as to how to beef the 3 by 8 ramp. Also anyone know a way to calculate if 8 feet ramp is long enough so the bottom of the Venture will have enough clearance where the ramp hooks to the trailer assuming the end of the ramp will be flush to the trailer bed. Any suggestions on the ramp. Or a better solution.

Thanks Miles...I needed that kind of explaination...I'll try it the next time it occurs.

Hi Mike: Actually when it does not start up, I normally immediately try the starter a few times. Only after sitting a couple of minutes then it starts up.

I have a 91 Acura Legend that has 223K miles. It is in good mechanicial condition. When something breaks it gets fixed. In the last year about once a month or every 2 months, after the vehicle has been driven, and the engine warmed up. After a brief stop at a store, the engine turns over strong but does not start. If I wait about 3 minutes, then the engine starts right up and off I go... Any thoughts? Besides getting a another vehicle.

Wow...What a trip. Glad your back, rest and heal up. Let me know if there's something I can do to help you out.

Whicjh would be better? Solar vs 110 volt?
GolfVenture replied to GolfVenture's topic in Watering Hole
Rethining my current circuit, the only things that stay on are the freezer and battery maintainer. I have 3 garage door openers and several outlets but they are rarely used. I could easily go off the line from the garage door openers. Thanks everyone. It helps to talk things out with others. I do like the 110 LED motion detector suggestion. -

These are LEDs that run off (Rechargeable battery lithium polymer 7.4 Volt/1500mAh) -
I need to add 2 outdoor lights to my detached garage about 75 feet from the house. It has 110 to the garage but I would need to add more breakers and wires (80 feet). Home Depot has this on sale "EXPA Solar powered outdoor white LED light with motion direction " for $39.97 each. Uses Rechargeable battery lithium polymer 7.4 Volt/1500mAh is included I've not installed Solar before. In long run, any opinions which would be better?

You are right about medical coverage on you. But if you do get in an accident and it is your fault, yes your personal medical will cover your medical but do not expect a settlement offer to close your claim. If you did have medical on you for your m/c policy then, the m/c insurance will make an offer to settle your claim after you have made as much recovery as you can in 3 years to cover future needs and for your pain and sufferings up to your policy limit. A good guide is that a settle offer could be about 2 to 3 times your total medical bill up to your policy limit.

I know how you feel for victory got snatched from my SeaHawks. But I still enjoy watching a good playoff football game.. Ravens just intercepted in the end zone so looks like they will win. Guess I will cheer for the team that Coach Harbaugh will coach in the Super Bowl.

I wear the Shark Evoline. They say it is on the heavy side, but being that it is the 1st helmet in 27 years I have nothing to compare it to. It held up nicely in my accident. So I bought a another one. Plus I bought the matching blue tooth. It is the nicest modular helmet on the market.

Both No 1 Seed (Broncos and Falcons) now Eliminated. Falcons got lucky against the SeaHawks but luck ran out against the 49ers. Go 49er, NFC West Conference. Go Ravens...

Update From Miles' Bolivia / Chile Trip...
GolfVenture replied to GolfVenture's topic in Watering Hole
Brian, wanted to keep in touch with you and the VR forum. All is going well down here. We missed our window of opportunity to watch the Dakar Rally on the leg that was very close to the Bolivian border, so we had to ride further into Chile' to watch the rally. We spent the entire day on Thursday watching all the motorcycle and car drivers come toward the finish in Copiapo', Chile'. The rally that day started in Fiambala', Chile', and ended in Copiapo'. We were stationed about 5 km out of Copiapo', and had a great view of all the riders and cars as they came out of the Atacama Desert, riding hard and fast. We then "tried" to find a room in the area that night, but all were taken by racers or fans. We had to ride about 200 kms north, back toward Bolivia, to find a room. Friday morning we rode back into Bolivia, and will continue our search for the path of Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. Hope all is well on the VR forum and family. Miles -
I'm cheering for the 49ers because I like a team with a fast running QB, so with Redskins & SeaHawks out, Go 49ers... Then I'm rooting for the Ravens just because.

Go 49ers & Ravens for the Super Bowl.

Wow what a game. Congratulations Falcons. You be my SeaHawks like a championship team. Coach Carrol has some explaining on his play calling in the 1st half. He was not calling plays into the SeaHawks Strengths. SeaHawks should have mostly been run, run , then action play. In 30 seconds the game could have gone either way. Congratulation to the Atlantic Falcons again. Go 49er…I love a fast running QB.

Hosting a 12th Man Party in support of the Seattle SeaHawks. Lots of good food. I need to not gorge myself like I'm used to, but to eat civil. I'm not much of a soda drinker except for special occasions like today. I WILL limit myself to just 1 can. Just pick up a bottle of water

It is due or die time for the Seattle SeaHawks vs Atlantic Falcons. Having a 12th Man party with lots of good food. I need to control my food intake. I need to tell myself to not gorge myself. Just eat civil. SeaHawks fortune is to continue their Winning Ways to Destiny... Borrowing a line from their Baseball counterpart the Seattle Mariners "Refuse To Loose" Go SeaHawks... Slash em with the Claw Rip em with the Beak. Bring on the Falcon Platter Meat!...Meat!...Meat! Go Hawks....
