  1. Imagine that. How creative. Never heard of that.
  2. How long have you been doing Straw Bale Gardening? Have you planted yet and what do you plant? Have any pictures? I will gather and post some pictures.
  3. Hi all, this is Golf&Venture. Anyone remember me? Been away for a couple 2 or 3 years. Was thinking about the group. I hung up my helmet and my riding rear. I've retired from Boeing after 31 years. This past March joined the 70's club. Included another grandson to my family and am in very good health but did have a full left knee replacement. I still have my 89 VR and my wrecked 91 VR. I can barely put the old VR on the rear kick stand anymore. Backing it up out of the garage is also a struggle. Every couple of months I start the old beast up with a box fan for radiator air flow. Listen to the hum of the engine. Straddle it, put it in gear and let it run for a while. Rev it a few times, bringing back memories. It needs a good carb cleaning. Anyone have a good step by step instructions in how to clean a set of carbs. SkyDoc provided me instructions on how to remove the 4 carbs in tack, as in a complete set without removing everything around it. Sure worked really slick. Don't want to or feel it needs rebuilding, just a good cleaning. Golfing is my main hobby now. I do an occasional puzzle. Hit the Casinos. Learned some cooking skill, by making my very first favorite pie, Apple. Still play my Trumpet, which is now 53 years old. Anyone into trumpets, it an Olds Recording. The only trumpet every made with the middle finger valve extended out a slight bit to accommodate ones middle finger. I Converted my attached 2 car garage into a 1 bedroom apartment and renting it out to the Traveling Nurse organization thru Furnish Finders. Been catching up on yard improvements that I've neglected for the past 34 years, but my 2 goats have been keeping the place at bay from being over taken by black berries and other natural foliage. My good buddy, Kubota, for the past 7 years has been helping me around the yard. Moved some good size boulders, railroad ties and moving some dirt around. Buddy Kubota has been a tremendous help in so many small big and small ways. Adding side boards to my trailer so I can haul free farm dirt from Enumclaw for my soon to be planted fruit trees, and grape vine plants. Oh I forgotten to mention that I've vastly enlarged my Straw Bale Gardening, Love it, no weeding and it grows vegies like crazy. Projects I like to start, some day. 1) Rebuilding of my 68 Kawasaki 90 G3TR, my very first m/c. 2) Still have my 74 Yamaha YZ125 to clean and get running again. 3) Have my first new vehicle a 1976 Chev Luv, a major project now. 4) Get my 1976 AMC Pacer running again, my mother's first and only new vehicle. 5) Have my 1988 Bayliner Capri 19.5 ft with a Chev 305 that I want to restore, which I bought it new. 6) Need to replace my 34 year old deck around my home. 7) Build a deck around my above ground pool. 8)-Thinking of adding a couple of egg laying chickens to my farm of 2 goats next year. 9) But I did manage to re-roof my home and detached garage of nearly 4000 sq ft over a 4 year period prior to my knee replacement. Layed every single composition sheet single handed even a huge 12/12 roof. 10) Almost forgot about my motorhome, getting it back to operational 10) So much to do, yet so little time left, but loving Retirement..

  5. My sharing this link is to continue honoring November as Veterans Month. November has been officially declared as Veterans Month on 1 Nov 2017 by President Trump. https://www.blogs.va.gov/VAntage/42710/president-proclaims-november-veterans-military-families-month/ Here is a great interesting life story of a deceased Veteran and his contributions. https://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=tripple+ace+olds&view=detail&mid=81C3D27C14EFD996B65081C3D27C14EFD996B650&FORM=VIRE Thanking all Veterans all year long especially during the month of November.
  6. Well my propane tank was initially installed in the basement garage 30 years ago. My thought is that the heat lost by the tank is only heating that area of the garage, heat rises which in turn heats the ceiling which is the floor of the main house. So the heat lost is not really lost. Well thats just my thought. tks for your input.
  7. My question is “Not” to determine which way to go either On Demand or Traditional Propane Hot Water Tank. My question is; Can I safely install an On Demand to feed my Propane Hot Water Tank I replaced my Propane Hot Water Tank 3 years ago with a new Propane Hot Water tank. Currently I have a basement apartment with 2 showers and my upstairs with 2 showers. During weekends and holidays, the last person taking a shower can have a cold shower. Sometime the 2 dishwasher and or 2 washing machine can be going also. So we stagger the shower usage. Soon my Daughter, Husband and 3 children will be moving in with me for a while. I’m looking for an inexpensive and quick solution to provide Hot Water to my entire household. I think that installing an On Demand to feed my Gas Hot Water Tank would be the most feasible solution. I was thinking of installing an Electric on Demand to feed my Propane Hot Water Tank, so the Propane Hot Water Tank water input is always hot. Or until the hot water demand exhaust the 50 gallons and in addition to all the On Demand puts outs. But that should be an extremely rare if any situation. Anyone know any caution or advise on doing this?
  8. Anyone knows a good suggestion for a reasonable over night stay. Could be up to 4 or 5 days. Palo Alto is a very expensive place to live. My daughter is expecting any day now. They just have an apartment.
  9. Just tested the inlet and outlet heater core hoses and they both heat up fine. Also the Air conditioner does not blow cold air. I'm pretty sure it is the blend door. Anyone know of a good reasonable costing 12 volt car heater to defrost an icy windshield?
  10. I have a 1998 Lincoln Continental V-Tech 32 Valve V8. Want to put as little $ as possible in it. Need creative ideas on fixing or a work around for the following issues. First Both banks of fuses (Engine & Inside) all have been checked out "good" with a Volt Meter 1) Dash lights do not work (But All gages work). 2) No Heat (Fan Blows good, Back flushed the header core-no junk and water flows freely. Let engine idle about 30 minutes. Thought if the thermostat was stuck closed then the engine would heat up past the normal range fairly quickly. If the thermostat was stuck open then with the car not moving the engine would eventually heat past the normal range. In both cases the engine temperture stayed at normal range. 3) Rear Air shocks goes flat after engine is off for a few hours. Pumps up fine but takes a long time. Once inflated and keeps driving the air shocks are fine.
  11. Tks Paul for asking about pictures. Here are a couple pictures. The Family picture is about 7 years old without my grandson Brayden. The 2nd Picture is our Ice Cream Sandwich club, but once in while I substitute it with a Hazen Das. When my newest, soon to be born grandson gets old enough for his first Ice Cream Sandwich the members has to vote and it has to be unanimous. Family picture from Right to left, Me, My Wife Rachel, My daughter Leah, My Grand Daughter Kailia, Leah's husband Bryson and then my Son Tye. There a few other reason for hanging up my helmet. My daughter Leah calls me "Patriarch of the family". See both my Wife and I have no records of any of our blood relatives. So to her, Rachel and I are like an Adam an Eve. See we are both Korean orphans due to the Korean War. Later we discovered Through Holt International (Pioneered International adoption) that on record we are the 1st Korean adoptees to marry. Then on top being first Korean adoptee to marry we also adopted our son, Tye from Korea. Maybe that could qualify to be in the Guinnes Book of Records. When my newest grandson is born I will post to to this thread. I thought increasing my chances to stick around would be appreciated by my family.
  12. Guess it will be a learning experience for me. I wasn't raised on a farm. Is it worst then chicken or cow manure or human treated sewage fertlizer? I'm on 2 acreas and so I can at least move them up or down wind away from the house.
  13. This is my first year of Straw Bale Gardening.. With a couple of my upgrade ideas. Absolutely no weeding.
  14. First Not riding there. Like to get some advise from locals or previous vacationers. There from Mon 30th July to Fri 3rd Aug. Any good shows. Nothing close to sluty or bad language nor cursing. Any good restaurants to recommend. Looking for 3 reasonably priced but nice golf courses, with in 30 minute drive, up to $50 per round. Fri 3rd Aug Temtations. Are they the origional? Any must do while there? Tks...
  15. I've decided to hang up my helmet. I've not ridden my 89 VR this year and only once last year but did more in 2015(first riding year after my accident). I had that terrible accident in 2012 with my 91 VR, but because I had the 89 VR, I moved the carbs from my wrecked 91 VR to the 89 VR and the 89 sprang back into life in 2015. Surgeries and Phy Therapy took 3 years and today, one could not tell that I was ever in a bad M/C accident. I was in Disneyland this past Christmas with my daughter and husband (with 1 granddaughter and 1 grandson). My daughter handed my wife and I each a Disneyland button to wear, to begin our Disney Adventure . My daughter always had a creative streak in her. I was walking with my grandchildren one in each hand. My granddaughter who was 5 during my accident. help nurse me back to health in her sweet way. My grandson was not born yet. Today my granddaughter is 10 and can barely remember the accident and my grandson would have never known me had the accident took my life. Now with number 3 due in November, I Assessed my life and the M/C riding was the one hobby that had the most risk in my life, and my desire to be part of their lives, see them graduate, college and possible be a great grandfather inspired me to hang up my helmet. There is a time for everything and this is my time. I've had a 2 wheel motorized bike since about 1965 (Tote Gote). Anyone remember it. Then in 1969 I bought a Kawasaki TR90 and I still have it. Then after college I bought a 74 Yamaha TX500 twin. Bought a 74 Yamaha YZ125. Sold the Yamaha TX500 then in 1980 bought a new Goldwing . I sold the wing in 1983 when my daughter was born. Then I got back into riding in 2010 and bought the 89 VR, just 4 months after open heart sugery. Rode it from Vacaville Ca to Buckley Wa. Then while looking for a parts VR bike I came across a beautiful 91 VR with about 6000 miles. I was going to sunset with the 91 VR but the accident took the life of the 91 VR. So this is what my 89VR looks like now with a golf bag carrier.. I plan on having fun accessorizing the 89VR then putting the 30 year Collectable plates next year. Then the 89VR will go into storage for my grandkids to one day restore it say in 20 years. THen it will be about 50 years old. Mean while I will be having more fun restoring my 69 Kawasaki. 74 Yamaha YZ125. My mothers 1976 AMC Pacer, my 76 Chev Luv, my 92 Dodge Diesel, and my 88 Bayliner. I'm not leaving this group for I really like being connected with you all. Just added the Disney Button which should have been the 1st Picture.
  16. Tks. Found a partner...
  17. Anyone in the Washington Puget Sound area with a golf ghin of 21 or a bit higher interested in a 2 day, 2 man golf tournament. Kent Riverbend 2 man, 2 day tournament. June 9th & 10th. Scramble and Best Ball Format. If you need to ask what a ghin is then you wouldn't be the right person.
  18. Let me know if you would like one of those speedo bearing greaser tool. It has been a while and so I would need to see if I have an extra. If not I could see what it would cost to make a single one. Maybe start a thread and see if there are others that might want one.
  19. My question was in general. I got the answer I wanted about the Knipex. I ordered one.
  20. Anyone have a good, tried and true process in filtering used cooking oil to be used as Diesel fuel?
  21. Several years ago I bought a new Homelite Pressure with a Honda engine. One of those 'Start up on 1st pull" And it really does start up on 1st pull. Well this spring the engine started to kick back and the kick back got worst thru the summer. Took the both hoses off and the kick back is till there. And the kick back is really bad. Seems like it could pull my shoulder out. So I took the plug out and pulled. Pulls smooth. Anyone have a solution besides taking it in for service. tks.
  22. Thank You all. I will be looking at the Knipex Pliar Wrench.
  23. Thankful for just the 2 short ride I did with my 89 VR, especially with no accidents.
  24. Any opinions on these types of wrenches? Or which ones are good ones at a good price? https://wiki-store.com/collections/house/products/amazing-grip
