I was told that Yamaha changed their whole line of oils and no longer offer the 20w40, and replaced it with the 20w50. No it is not recycled oil. FILTER QUESTION: Why does Yamaha recommend the 5GH-13440-00-00 oil filter and here on this site it is listed as using the 3FV-13440-00-00? Can someone fill me in on this? Thanks ahead of time Bill....

Yamaha has discontinued the 20w40 and replaced it with a reformulated 20w50 for the warmer weather.

Thanks again Lou! They look very sharp. I'm afraid once I put the fronts on I'll have to get the rears done also. I'll see what I can come up with.

Hey Lou, Thanks for putting up some pic's. They look pretty good, I ordered a set the other day. Where'd you get the passenger one's from? Are they also an insert or is that a solid chrome board so when you fold it up you see chrome or aluminum? Thanks again! Bill..

Any pic's on what they look like on the bike?

Be sure to blow out any debris from around the plugs before you remove them. This will eliminate anything falling down into the cylinder. I also used a section of rubber tubing on the end of the plug to reach down and get it started before using a socket, so your sure it's not cross threaded. Yes I removed the tank and one brace at a time. Good luck! Torque specs http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=514

I put the avons on over the winter and have just under 500 miles on them now. I have the stock sizes and have noticed an improvement at handling slower speeds. At highway speeds the turns seem fine, but in the straight away they seem rather touchy. I have no lift in the steering bearing, also did the swing test with it up on the center stand and the handle bars just turn to the right or left and no bounce back. Any suggestions on what else to look for? Or is that normal? Thanks Bill...

I've used the c330 for about 5 months last season with the ram mount with no problems as of yet. I will say that the ram mount does dampen alot of the vibration from being mounted on the handlebars. I put a baggie over it when it rains

You have to remove the power connection from the original cradle and install it in the new Ram cradle. Two small phillips head screws and it comes right out, than reinstall it in the Ram mount. Or you can purchase another connection from Garmin.

Well here's his chance to tell his side of the story or PAY UP! Otherwise we put him on the S--- List.

I'm talking about the horns themselves. Just spray right into the horn and let it drain out. Also check and make sure that the line isn't getting pinched somplace.
-
Had the same issue's with my Rivco's. Talked to Rivco about this and they recommend that I flush them out with WD40 and that worked well. Now the horn is loose from the actual diaphram body so I mixed up some plastic steel and reset it. It worked when tested with canned air, but still have not tested it on the bike yet. Horns look nice but IMO aren't worth the money.

I'm thinking about a getting a fold up trailer for trailering my 2005 RSV. One similar to the Kendon 2 place. Any pro's or con's on this issue would be greatly appreciated. Bill......

Alan, I took my wheels into Highlands Yamaha and they put the new Avon's on while I waited. I also had them put a 90 degree valve stem on the front wheel for $10.00 The cost was $30.00 a wheel mounted and balanced. Highlands is located in Countryside.Greased spline's on drive shaft also, changed oil in final drive too. If you need a hand when you do yours call me. Bill.....

I put the bike up on the center stand and use a large paint roller pan and it works just fine.
-
Did mine at just over 14,000 and they didn't look bad either.

Vibrates going up hill in 5th gear
BMW replied to a topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I agree, usually don't hit 5th until 70mph or above. You can down shift into 4th and just give it a little throttle as you release the clutch and it should be fine. -
That's right, you need to open them up and loosen the nut on the inside to make your adjustment than put them back together and hope you have them where you want them. Good luck!
