Co-worker had his harley parked in the company lot and the way the sun was reflecting off the mirror it burned the passenger backrest. Looks like a cigarette was laid on it and burned down to the butt. I know, should have gotten a pic but I didn't have phone on me at the time. First time I ever heard of this.

Very happy with my first set of avons. 18K on them and I probably could have gotton another 4or5K out of the front but I decided to change them both at the same time. Went with the venoms again on April 1st and just took them off because the side wall on the new rear tire is blistering. Sent them back and went with the Dunlop E-3's. We'll see how they handle. I sure hope Avon can correct their problems because I really liked the way them tires handled and how well they wore.

I spoke with a rep from Jake Wilson's today and she told me they could do no better than a tire that was 2 years old.
-
CMIKE, Are these front or rear tires your talking about? It seems as though we can't get a front E3 with a later date than "07". The rears are readily available with "09" dates.
-
I'm going through the same thing with Southwest Moto Tire. The rear was dated 4609, but the front is dated 3607 and thats almost 3 years old. They told me that was the best they could do for a new front tire. My options are to use it or get my money back. Then where do I get a newer tire from?
-
There is an oval shape stamped on the side of the tire and it has 4 digits inside it. The first 2 are the week and the 2nd two are the year.

Has anyone purchased any E-3's for a 2nd gen lately? If so where did you get them and what are the date codes on them.

Rode it a few times. Early morning mid week is the best time, you have it almost all to yourself.

Something a friend sent me awhile ago. PLEASE SHARE THIS INFO WITH FAMILY AND FRIENDS. Be cautious about scams when the Census is in your area. Some good information below: 2010 Census to Begin WARNING: 2010 Census Cautions from the Better Business Bureau Be Cautious About Giving Info to supposed Census Workers by Susan Johnson With the U.S. Census process beginning, the Better Business Bureau (BBB) advises people to be cooperative, but cautious, so as not to become a victim of fraud or identity theft. The first phase of the 2010 U.S. Census is under way as workers have begun verifying the addresses of households across the country. Eventually, more than 140,000 U.S. Census workers will count every person in the United States and will gather information about every person living at each address including name, age, gender, race, and other relevant data. The big question is - how do you tell the difference between a U.S. Census worker and a con artist? BBB offers the following advice: ** If a U.S. Census worker knocks on your door, they will have a badge, a handheld device, a Census Bureau canvas bag, and a confidentiality notice. Ask to see their identification and their badge before answering their questions. However, you should never invite anyone you don't know into your home. ** Census workers are currently only knocking on doors to verify address information. Do not give your Social Security number, credit card or banking information to anyone, even if they claim they need it for the U.S. . Census. REMEMBER, NO MATTER WHAT THEY ASK, YOU REALLY ONLY NEED TO TELL THEM HOW MANY PEOPLE LIVE AT YOUR ADDRESS.. While the Census Bureau might ask for basic financial information, such as a salary range, YOU DON'T HAVE TO ANSWER ANYTHING AT ALL ABOUT YOUR FINANCIAL SITUATION. The Census Bureau will not ask for Social Security, bank account, or credit card numbers, nor will employees solicit donations. Any one asking for that information is NOT with the Census Bureau. AND REMEMBER, THE CENSUS BUREAU HAS DECIDED NOT TO WORK WITH ACORN ON GATHERING THIS INFORMATION.. No Acorn worker should approach you saying he/she is with the Census Bureau. Eventually, Census workers may contact you by telephone, mail, or in person at home. However, the Census Bureau will not contact you by Email, so be on the lookout for Email scams impersonating the Census. Never click on a link or open any attachments in an Email that are supposedly from the U.S. Census Bureau. PLEASE SHARE THIS INFO WITH FAMILY AND FRIENDS.

I had one and returned it. Yes the screen isn't very bright in the sunlight. If your planning on using the bluetooth with your phone make sure your phone is compatible, I tried 2 different phones with no luck. Called tomtom and was told to try a different phone. There is an adapter out there to hook it up to the bikes intercom system but thats another $100 or so.I'm still using my old Garmin

2005 bought it new, 32,000 miles. Biggest expense is tires. Most miles in one day was 750, and they were very comfortable miles.

We did the Washington Island one a few years ago. Tie downs are available but we didn't use them, the water was very calm first thing in the morning.I Would have a few straps with you just to be safe.
