    Since I am so new to the Ventures I have to ask even if I sound stupid, should there be movement in the rear brake caliper? I can move it a little bit up and down with my hand it seems to rock on a bolt, I just want to make sure its supposed to do that.

    I leave the desert and go to the mountians , its always cooler above 7000 ft.

    sometimes my class system gives me an E1 error and other times it works just fine. any thoughts on whats causing it?

    Do you guys think elevation effects the rich/lean settings ? I think it does.

    I average 31.6 miles per gallon and feel like I should get more. This has been a helpful thread.

    I just suckered an HD rider into a race , He can't shift gears until I do. poor thing will need a ride home, should I feel bad?

    The Bike ran hotter than it ever has, maybe its running on all 4 Cyl. now and thats normal, it went to about half way into the green of the gauge is that right? It really seemed to run crappy at that temp, like a pig below 2000 RPM, once up and going it was smooth, I will be running seafoam through it this weekend and see if it helps.

    This will be my method of removing the botched up screw, it fits much better with my mentality ( Millwright for 15 years) I appreciate all of the replies and advice!!

    Im going to need a clutch resevoir that has good sight lenses in it, I will be screwing up the one on the bike to extract the screws that are all bugered up. some people should not be allowed to use tools!! I wanted to check the fluid levels, sight glasses are completely fogged, pulled the chrome covers and the screws are completely messed up I will have to drill them out to get the covers off. If anyone has one Im looking for one let me know ,Thanks.

    Ok back to this, I had some time today to mess with the Venture, I took the plugs out 2 were black, one was brown (the one I thought was the hot one) and the other was hand tight and didn't look like it had been firing. after changing the plugs all the pipes were warm after a minute run, three felt about the same but the one that was hand tight was a little less hot ( I won't say cooler because all of them were just about to warm to hold a finger on for very long) . This morning when I went to coffee, I noticed that I could hear a spark jumping somewhere through one of the stereo speakers with the system off, I think new wires will be next. Im fixin to take it out for a night ride here in a bit, if I have anything to add on performance I will post it when I get back. what do you guys/gals think?     I will have to check out the formula, The one for my goldwing was three coats to get the color, a real PITA. Thanks for the replies ,now I just have to decide if brown is my color or if I want it my own colors.

    factory paint on the ventures or is it better to start all over and paint the whole bike after doing crack repairs on the fairing?

    Squeak when I turn right ? I have had squeaky brakes before but never just on a turn and in just one direction ?

    Sounds like the pain I had once, it was not in the elbow but originated in my neck, its called nerve pain , specific adjustments of my neck helped but nothing but time made it better. here is how to test and see if its the same, have your wife or someone lift your head straight up a little ,stretch the neck out a bit and see if the pain in your elbow goes away. if it does then its the same.

    I noticed that the dates on the merchandise threads are 2006, Is the merchandise listed in the threads still available? I would have asked in the specific Merchandise threads , but Im not allowed to post in them.
