  1. Take the money and run. If you can afford to do the buy back you could get the wing, repair the rstd later and put some more cash in your pocket for wing bling Don't forget to take any custom parts off and replace with stock items you may have saved, before you turn it over to the ins. co.
  2. I've taken Jeannie's trike into a round-a-bout and done circles going faster and faster to see when a wheel would lift, never did get one off the ground before centrifugal forces wanted to rip me off the trike. I have also weaved down the highway in and out of the lane line and it handles the quick weight transfer real well at freeway speeds. Gotta love them Hannigans
  3. Sucks to hear this, but at least he was able to walk/ride away. Heal fast Mark.
  4. No more riding with my buddy !
  5. Replace the slave cylinder. Mine did the same thing. While you're in there replace the shift shaft seal too. I just finished up that job on mine. I had about $75 in parts. Slave cylinder, shift shaft seal, copper compression washers, rubber boots for the shifter linkage rod. Best price I found was from RonAyers.com
  6. I measured the shift rod on the wife's trike and came up with 16 3/4" total length.
  7. I measured the shift rod on the wife's trike and came up with 16 3/4" total length.
  8. I'm not talking about the vertical pedal adjuster, that spec is 1.06" If you look between the pipe and engine you'll see the long rod that connects the shift pedal to the transmission shift shaft, that's the one I'm referring to, it runs parallel to the ground .
  9. I just got done installing a new clutch slave cylinder, while in there I put in a new shift shaft seal and removed the shift linkage that runs along the exhaust pipe so I could replace the rubber boots. I counted the threads showing at both ends before I removed the ends, put it all back together and now when I shift into neutral I can feel a vibration in the handlebars and hear a slight gear noise like it's not completely in neutral. How smooth and noise free is your 2nd gen when warm and in neutral? Any vibrations that go away when you pull the clutch in? Now for the question. What is the length of the shift rod supposed to be? can't find that spec anywhere in the service manual. Also when not moving, but shifting through the gears, I need to release the clutch a tad in order to downshift, is that normal ?
  10. If I remember right, my 1 1/8" combo wrench fit it. Not sure what the metric equivalent is.
  11. Don't worry Bob, I hear Canadian jails are nice, beer for lunch & dinner
  12. I don't think putting flags down low in place of antenna's down low, next to the trunk is a good idea, as the flags flap in the wind they'll scuff and dull your paint on the trunk
  13. Well then.... guess I'll need to look a little closer.
  14. I'm sure it's the seal, when I move it I can see oil seep out around the shaft. I got all my parts from RONAYERS.COM good prices, quick shipping. Been using them for years.
  15. I'm in the middle of replacing the Clutch slave and noticed that the shift shaft seal is leaking, I have the new seal, what is the best way to remove the old seal and get the new one seated in the bore? Sealer on the outer bore? When I put the middle gear cover back on should I use any sealer on the new factory gasket? I also have new rubber booties for the shift rod heim joints.
  16. So I shouldn't use an acetylene torch with a fine cutting tip ?
  17. Jeannie has one too I hope she never has to skid though Those with slow fingers must wait!
  18. I can attest to that little bleed hole givin' ya grief.... had it happen on the snowmobile this past winter, drove us nuts till we found that it was plugged. Picture it, flying down the trail, flames shootin out the vent stopped for a look/see ,brake disk was so hot you could almost see thru it !
  19. Jeannie always complains of tired arms after coming off a road with miles of tight switchbacks, it does take more out of you than when on 2 wheels, but she can outrun me on many roads like that !
  20. 47 !!!!!!!!!!! 47 years ago today.......
  21. WELL..... you've had a few weeks to ride that with the new clutch, what's the verdict ? Any pic of the parking brake setup yet ?
  22. For even easier steering on the trike, add some Flanders bars on top of that easy steer, it makes a noticeable difference.
  23. Sweet........ I was at the Victory dealer the other day and I'll be back there later this coming week for a CCT test ride. I really like the options you have with them, the ability to remove the bags, tour pack and front lowers really have my interest. If only they offered it in that flat grey , no special orders
