  1. Can't quite figure this one out,,, 2 days ago you pushed Joyce off the step stool and now today you're praising her, what's up wit dat?
  2. Yes Bill, it sure looks that way! I awoke to the same sight you did I completely rebuilt the forks and have not bee able to test it out yet due to all this lousy wet weather Yep, we live in Michigan
  3. I thought about taking pictures while I did the job but oily hands and picture taking don't go well together. Thanks again Carl, the job went smooth. Now if the weather would dry up I could try out my handiwork.
  4. Nope those are chrome yamaha trinkets too BUT Mama's trike could use a set of those
  5. Yes Chuck I Do have the chrome floorboards and most all of the other Yami chrome accy's.
  6. I'll refrain from further comments till the OP replies with more details.
  7. Could just be a matter of getting used to the new clutch 's friction zone. What clutch kit did you put in?
  8. I don't think there's a step by step for the master cyl. Over the years I think I've read most everything there is tech wise on the site. There's not much to it. You may need a hone to clean up the bore in the master.
  9. Some pics of the diamond cuts and polished out lower fork legs. Not the greatest cell phone pictures but it's all I got right now.http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/04/20/9c85c7363abb24de7986d6b44a9c717f.jpghttp://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/04/20/4b1e6b8bfbf04dc006716de5c5525c3d.jpghttp://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/04/20/738ac5a568359f3b3edce561f4d104de.jpghttp://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/04/20/d37ae9ca6eab54016eb30099eaef9700.jpghttp://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/04/20/b5a4ed4aea4d45ab4e84679c60291699.jpg
  10. Thanks Brad Worked like a charm I was able to save the deflectors from the scrap pile. Thank you to everyone else that offered suggestions too.
  11. Thanks, I saw those but they are really yellowed.
  12. That's a nice looking Valk! I love the color combo. I was in the market for an Interstate when I found the RSV. If I'd have been able to find an Valk within 1000 miles of here I'd have one now.
  13. Just to be clear, I am talking about the deflectors that mount on the lower edge of the fairing, not the ones below the turn signals.
  14. I'm going to try a sand and polish, but I think it's too deep for that. Paint is an option I may use till I find some good ones.
  15. I completed the fork job today, getting to them took some time but the actual process of rebuilding the forks was pretty easy. Thank you Carl, your blow by blow helped immensely. Also thanks to Carbon One (Larry) for coming by to lend a hand in getting it all buttoned up today.
  16. With a random orbital sander I started with 320 grit, 400, 600 then polished with a sewn wheel using green buffing compound followed by un-sewn wheel with white rouge then hand polished with Blue Magic and a tee shirt. I had the lower tube off for a fork rebuild when I did this, much easier that way. There's a picture of the first one in this thread. Post #8
  17. Sweet looKin scoot ya got there Relic,, is that the new RSV everyone is talking about?
  18. While finishing up my fork rebuild and neck bearing service I was cleaning all the electrical connections in the fairing with electrical connection spray cleaner and it dripped down onto the clear wind deflectors attached to the inner fairing, melting streaks into both of them Yep, I'm a dumbas* Does anyone have a pair they are not using and would like to get rid of ? I searched Ebay and none were to be had. On a brighter note, while I had the forks apart I sanded and polished the lower fork legs, they now shine almost like chrome It's raining now so a test ride with the new sonic springs and 15W fork oil will have to wait.
  19. Will do. I've been to the dunes in St. Anthony with the four wheelers before, awesome place for fun.
  20. Clutch fluid is checked thru the sight glass on the left handlebar, where your clutch lever is. If it appears dark in color it's time for it to be flushed. The bleeder is on the left at the base of the rear cylinder, under the square black rubber cover.
  21. A buddy I ride with alot has one , good running bikes but they have a small fuel tank and sound like a John Deere farm tractor . It won't beat a 2nd gen in a race but it comes close. He has had zero trouble with it in the 8 years he's owned it.
  22. I know where one is but it'll have to wait till I have a front wheel on the scoot. http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/04/18/15db4cb5153cb42d9d081b8b5cf29211.jpg
  23. Told ya to take that cast iron skillet away from the warden. If you do cage it, you'll have plenty room for Tent poles
  24. THANKS Puc Short of riding off a mountain side, it's hard not to have a good time out there
