OOPS! Easier to fix it than you. Sorry it happened anyway. So, I guess the lesson here is to cut your own grass or maybe the lesson is to move the fire hydrant

@djh3 I've got one here with a bad power switch and audio out jack, if you find that it's a bad display, let me know, we may be able to work something out. The thing that bums me out is that the unit has lifetime map upgrades and so far no joy in getting Garmin to transfer it to it's replacement 765.

Weird experience with CB interference over radio...
ragtop69gs replied to Lug Nut's topic in GPS, Audio, Electronics
Probably what you are experiencing is caused by truckers using a linear power amp on their CB's. A strong enough linear will push the signal thru your speakers even when your system is off. If that's the case then there's nothing wrong with your system and there's not much you can do about it. We used to have the same thing happen only it came over our TV at home, the cause was a neighbor a few streets over using his base station with the power cranked way up. He usually only did this after midnight so most neighbors never noticed. -
Amazing what a good Doctor can do these days...

Nice pics! Looking pretty good, how's it working? -
I tried Maxthon a few years ago and found it to be buggy, fonts on top of fonts, graphics displayed in weird ways. Maybe the newer versions are better.

@cowpuc , TankerHank on the Delphi boards did what you'er asking, it is a lot of wiring work to move the electronics. You also have the cruise control servo and horn on the left side to deal with also. The end result was nice, but it's a huge project. I'll stick with my air wings and hi-way pegs.

What to use for a system image? I do backups with Win7's utilities, is there an option in win7 OS to do a system image. If not, what would be some programs to look at? Ran Ccleaner today, it removed lots of stuff, pc is running a bit faster now.

Ok, you all have me considering making the jump to W10. A few questions before I try it. My system has 3 internal hard drives totaling 1480 GB of used space , I'm sure much of this is duplicate data copied/saved/backed up from one drive to another, is there a program I can use that will look across all 3 drives to identify duplicate files weather they be data, pics, video, documents so that I can consolidate and delete. Is there a program that will automate what I want to accomplish? My system has been pretty sluggish lately and I believe Norton AV is the primary cause. Should I remove the Drives other than C: before the upgrade to W10? C: is 650GB with 98GB free E: is 15GB with 6GB free F: is a 1.5TB drive split into 2 drives with F: is 1360GB with 77GB free G: is 640GB with 189GB free

Shopping for a Tablet. What features are important
ragtop69gs replied to ragtop69gs's topic in Watering Hole
Thanks to everyone for their insights. I am an android phone user, as such, I feel moving to an iPad would complicate things. Am I wrong on the learning curve? How much crossover with android is there among apps? $250 is an arbitrary number I am not stuck on but would like to stay around. Most of why I want one is for email, Web browsing and route planning . Photo taking would be low on the list unless I happen to have it in my hand at the time, my samsung note 5 cell takes awesome photos but has no SD slot so I will need somewhere to upload the photos to, hence the tablet with SD. and NFC. Shopping for a Tablet. What features are important
ragtop69gs replied to ragtop69gs's topic in Watering Hole
Your thoughts on SD card are what I was thinking. My new cell phone does not have an SD slot and I'm missing it, even with 64GB of internal storage. Most every tablet I've looked at lately does not have an SD slot or USB port I hope the healing is going well for you. The drugs must not be working too well, you are still typing in coherent sentences! -

Any demand for these stock electronics?
ragtop69gs replied to Lug Nut's topic in GPS, Audio, Electronics
You may want to re-think your plans for your stereo. No matter what you do to it, you are stuck with those wimpy 4" speakers. Unless you plan to do some serious reconstruction to mount larger speakers you will never get the results you seek. Many have tried the amps & speaker route, most say the result was not worth the dollars spent. Your best bang for the buck is going to be a good headset or earbuds. -
What should I consider for specs and features in a tablet to carry on the bike for road trips? I like a large screen size, but my 17" laptop takes way too much space. I do not plan to add it to my cellular plan at this time, but may do so sometime in the future. Which would be better , lots of internal *?GB's or external SD slot. How much is enough? I'd like to keep costs to around $250 if possible.

Thanks, but I'll be at the pond monster resort. -
Ran the windows upgrade adviser and it says my system is not compatible with W10. Something about hardware specs it says it needs. Don't understand it's only 9 years old... Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk

My tv has wifi but I opted to run cat 5 cable to it from our router. I found it to be a more reliable connection than wifi. My home theater receiver, blu ray and tv are fed by cat5 from a switch out of the router. The tv & blu ray have smart functions. I can source feed from my PC if wanted.

I know the feeling well. I took retirement from my job at age 54, the state enacted a tax on pensions later that year, next the feds hit me with a yearly 10% penalty for early withdrawal till age 59 1/2 which I hit this year. They still hit me a half year penalty! Pay and pay again. ... DAMN IRS!!! Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk

It could be that the computer isn't up to the task of video playback but the wifi does not depend on your computer, so your wifi may be plenty fast to feed the TV. Where you may run into problems is if you try to stream movies that are stored ON YOUR PC. Check with your ISP, they can tell you if your connection will support streaming services.

When you have decided on a TV, Go to Monoprice.com for all your cables and TV mount. They have great prices and high quality items. Just be sure to read the reviews for items that interest you. They carry a wide array of electronics items. I have bought from them many times and am very happy with everything I have bought.
