  2. With all the swings in temperature lately I have been getting condensation covering the bike. It is stored in an unheated garage on a concrete floor. What can I do to prevent this from happening?
  3. To everybody that has received that letter of claim: I can investigate the validity of the claim request, for you, I don't want to see anyone get cheated out of their hard earned money. Just send me $175 Dollars USD to cover my time and expense and I'll get right on it. If in fact you are the rightful claimant there is an additional 46% recovery fee on all recovered funds. Thank you bary bary mush.
  4. So they are 3" in diameter ?
  5. That's good to know. Been using what I use for so long, don't see myself changin now. Both types cost about the same, unless, you use a MC specific coolant then you need to bend over as you take it off the shelf .
  6. The way I understand it is, that a lot of motorcycle water pumps have pump vanes made of rubber that contact the pump walls, similar to an outboard motor WP. When you use a silicate based anti-freeze it grinds the silicates between the vane and housing causing wear and eventual pump failure. Now if on the other hand, the RSV pump is of the non contact design, silicates should have no negative effects IMHO. I have always used silicate free in all my bikes, never had a pump failure yet.
  7. TANK's for sharing that
  8. I LOVE Grille'd Venison I have 2 in the freezer this year, never fired a shot. They both commited suicide on a fence down the road from me.
  9. Don't forget about Great Lakes Powersoprt on Miller, 1/2 mile west of I-75
  10. Thanks for the offer. I'll have to see how things progress when we get out there. It will probably be short notice if we find the time.
  11. Are you sure it's not those old finger knuckles popping from arthritis ?
  12. Yeah what he said: Crankcase Breather Cover Trim
  13. Well, I can't believe it ! Seems that the plug shimming stopped the leak. I know, I know ........... y'all told me so I wish all fixes could be this easy.
  14. Thanks for all the tips guy's. I'm heading into the woods tomorrow, gonna try and fill the freezer with venison. Won't be near a computer for at least 4 day's Later
  15. Sorry to hear of your mis-fortune. I always put my wallet in a zippered pocket when riding, of course that does not help if you leave it on a counter or worse yet set it on the bike while fueling. I lost my wallet twice, both times I was lucky enough to have had honest folks find it, returned with everything intact both times. I have my fingers crossed that you are as lucky. Good Luck
  16. I left the house this morning, it was 34* out, So as long as it's not I'll have a good ride. The PCH is a must.
  17. Looks like I'll be going out to San Francisco the 2nd & 3rd week of December for work. I'm thinking about renting a bike for 2 days. Where should I ride it to ? I'd like to see some rural coastline, maybe Yosemite or Sequoia ? I'd love to see some of those Giant trees they have out there, are they Redwoods or Sequoia's?
  18. Yeah, I looked at that too. The shop manual calls it the "Crankcase Breather Cover" No leak there.
  19. Well, after doing everything I could to locate the source of the leak, with no luck, I shimmed all 4 plugs and put it all back together. I'll go for a put later today then see what I have in the morning. I'll be surprised if it helps. Other than that, the only thing I changed was to snug up all the clamps.
  20. Couldn't be, ain't got no friends
  21. I have the fins off both sides, front and rear there is no tracking that a coolant leak would leave. I did a close inspection of everywhere there's an o-ring, no signs at all of a leak. This really has me scratchin my head
  22. gloomy and cold ! Is that what you call 75 degrees?
  23. After close inspection of everything you have talked about, I can say without a doubt, it's not coming from any of the hose connections or o-rings, up there or where the hoses meet the head, or water pump. No signs of leakage around the head gaskets either. I guess my next step is to pressure test the system. Not sure what it will acomplish since I can see no visible sign of a leak.
