This guy was sitting at home alone when he heard a knock on the front door. There were two sheriff's deputies there. He asked them if there was a problem. One of the deputies asked if he was married and if he could see a picture of his wife. The guy says "sure" and shows him a picture of his wife. The deputy says, "I'm sorry sir, but it looks like your wife's been hit by a truck." The guy says, "I know, but she has a great personality, and is a good cook too."

First time rider learns that pavement hurts!

Fearless isn't bad, as long as it comes with a healthy dose of common sense. He knows he got lucky. He says he'll be taking the MSF class as soon as he can get off the crutches, his knee is pretty sore right now. -
And KROIL too. Not as common, but, it works even better than PB blaster.

Yep, he learned himself a good lesson fer sure. The doc say's nothing broke or torn, just gonna take some time to heal. The bike as he described it had only minor damage. A bent footpeg and a broken turn signal. He was between the bike and the ground, so no chrome got ruined during this experiment. If he's anything like I was at that age, He'll probably do it again. Gotta prove the the old man wrong! -
My future son-in-law has been wanting to learn to ride, always asking me to teach him. I continually told him to take the MSF beginner class, that I wouldn't teach him on my bikes. Well.... after he got off work last night one of his co-workers said he could ride his 1100 Honda in the parking lot, Let's just say it didn't go as planned. 2 laps around the lot... over the parking block... side swiped the building before hitting the cement filled steel pole with his knee which caused him and the bike on top of him to go skidding 15 feet across the pavement He now has multiple patches of road rash, a knee the size of a grapefruit and a complete understanding of why I told him to take the MSF and wear protective gear. Here's a few pictures for your viewing enjoyment.

Freebird's Maintenance Day Parts/Accessories Thread

I figured the valve adj. was a stretch. If someone does do one, just watching the process would be a big help. Has Goose decided on what he's going to do for the mini clinic on Friday? What time ? -
I've never seen anyone get their photo's pinstripped ! That should be interesting.
-
Hi Don, I recall you mentioning that there is going to be someone at your MD doing pinstripping, is there a list I should get on to get some stripping touch-up work done?

Freebird's Maintenance Day Parts/Accessories Thread

This will be my first time attending a MD. How do I go about getting help with one or more of these items on my wish list? I'll be bringing some hand tools, a bike jack, Fork oil, a factory service manual and some ???? If I know what I can realistically accomplish I'll order up the parts I'll need. I am mechanically inclined, but a newbie to the RSV. The 3 things on my wish list for MD would be 1. A valve adjustment ( what parts would I need?) 45K miles and don't think it's ever been done to this bike. 2. A carb sync 3. A fork oil change Maybe a front tire to match my almost new Avon rear. -
Bonus points if you're in handcuffs !
-
I'd love to but I have 2 boats to move in the morning.
-
Stunt driving !? Was he on the rear wheel only?
-
Under the services offered column it appears as binary code ! PDF or XLS doesn't matter. Does anybody else see it that way?

Look for light rub marks on the tire, if the po worked on the rear of the bike there may be a screw or bolt that's a bit to long. I encountered that with my Honda when I removed the trailer hitch.

Open a Brothel... you'd never have to leave the house and the fringe benefits are great!

Stop by on your way to MD and we'll grill up some backstraps & I'd even make another dish that gets rave reviews by all who try it. As I said before, take the ferry across Lk Michigan and you come almost right by here on the way to Freebirds. We have a comfy guest room

Nice lookin scoot. 2 years ago I rode an '08 UltraClassic through the Beartooth and Yellowstone and was very impressed with the 50+ MPG, 6 speed trans, handling, dragging the floorboards through every switchback (it was a rental bike) First Harley I'd been on in 30 years.

After reading about all the satisfied people using the Barrons risers, I bought a set off Amazon tonight. I hope they get here in time to install before going to Freebirds MD. Has anyone installed the Starbars P/N (BA-7300-00) that baron's lists as compatible with their risers ?

That's not true, I have found, many times. that a 30.06 will most definatly change their course and speed! It changes them into the main course.... Yum
