Congrats on the new addition to the clan. Enjoy her now. Before you know it she'll be wanting to borrow the bike.

When the last shooter squeezed one off, did you see the paper on the next bench ? Blew it right off the bench !! That rifle is good for a sore shoulder for a week or so.

Look at places that sell chain boxes and tool boxes for the back of Semi Tractors, they have a variety of aluminum boxes, one may fit your needs. You could modify a 250 gallon fuel oil tank that was used for home heating, the kind they make pig roasters with but they weigh about 100 #

My Plumbing Leak is Found - Need Advise Please
ragtop69gs replied to GolfVenture's topic in Watering Hole
You have 2 option here, the first is to cut out the offending parts and replace it all or you can take the easy way out and repair the leak with Plastex. I know a lot of people will say No to this approach but the plastex will work good here. I used Plastex to repair 2 leaking pipe joints in my hot tub several years ago and they are still holding tight. My leak was in a joint just like what you have. Hot tub plumbing see's a lot of thermal changes and shocks from pumps turning on and off, so in your application where there is no pressure or shock it should work good. -

I have not done anything yet to trace the problem, it'll have to wait till the weekend. Can't ride anyway, it's gonna start here tonight -
I borrowed a FLIR i7 Infrared camera and did some scans of the bike. Interesting, as I found that my left rear cylinder is not firing. These pics were taken in this sequence, Cold, 1 minute, 5 minutes in this order. FR, RR, LF, LR. Each pic is time stamped, the date is wrong. The left rear is dead. Readings at the spark plug also confirm this. Also notice the lower temp at the exhaust pipe on the left. pic 247, 249, 267, 276 are all of the left rear. Now to figure out WHY this cylinder is not firing. I'll post all the pics and maybe it will help someone who knows how to read an IR pic.

:rotf: Yep he still can rock & roll. Bob lives about 2 miles from me, we see him in store around the area every so often. He's a down to earth, nice guy. Did he do any of his old, old stuff like 2+2 and the like ? In spite of his bout with throat cancer he still sounds pretty good.

Oil leak leads to request for shim kit
ragtop69gs replied to Bill in NJ's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I do need to check the valve clearance but I am a bit hesitant to undertake this job by myself. I really would like experienced eyes following along the first time. I may wait till Don's MD if I can find a willing coach to help with the job. I have the FSM . The bike has 46000 miles on it and I don't know if it's ever been done. -

Ok Dan I'll Bite, how do you stop the leak without pulling the covers? I have a small leak on the left rear gasket. -
My first words to her when she told me were " How can you ride a bike if you can't see the obvious? " She's parked her bike there a hundred times but was in a rush this time I bet it doesn't happen again. $55 spent unnecessarily is a good teacher.

This couldn't come at a better time. My shield has far exceeded it's useful life it's just been hard for me to let it go because of the etching on it I like so much, but alas, it's time has come I can hardly see at night now because of the glare of on-coming traffic. I ride somewhere between 10-20 thousand miles a year. Summer, Fall, Winter, Spring doesn't matter as long as there's no chance of ice. I'd love to be able to give my impressions of your Windshield. I'll just hang here on the edge of my seat waiting to see who the lucky rider will be. A BIG to F4 Customs for offering this opportunity to one of our members.

The bike is a 2005 Suzuki GS500F. She needs the left mirror.

Can't sleeve it because it cracked the eye at the base where the pinch bolt goes through. Must be Aluminium or my magnet is broken. This here is the best argument for not repairing it. With her luck it would fall off and she'd hit it with the back tire. I'm just gonna tell her it's toast, get a new one. Thanks

Is it possible to effectively repair a sintered metal part ? My daughter broke the mirror stem on her motorcycle (closed the garage door on it ) and a new replacement is at least $55 . She asked if I can repair it before she goes and buys a new one.

I stopped in at the Star display and asked a rep about the venture, he said meetings are next week so he had nothing to say except, he's heard rumor of a new touring bike based off the 1900 platform. We'll see
