Got it lubed, now if I could only get the shaft back into the front u-joint

I have the final drive off right now, how do you remove the shaft from the drive unit ? I removed the snap ring but it is still in there. What's the secret to getting it off, the manual is no help. /

Venom rear mileage ?
ragtop69gs replied to ragtop69gs's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Well, I had a Dunlop E3 put on and we'll see how well it lasts. About half the miles on the Venom were pulling a trailer so I guess it wasn't too bad. The Venom showed no signs of cracking anywhere. -
Anybody have a good REAR brake disk for a 2nd Gen ? Mine is toast.

The only popup I get keeps telling me I need MORE SAFETY CHROME !!

Rear shock slop in top mount?
ragtop69gs replied to RSTDdog's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Thanks Rick, I had a socket on it but it didn't want to move, I was afraid to put to much torque on it and snap it., it is a standard thread correct? -
I am replacing my Venom rear tire right now, it only had about 13K miles on it. I'm also running a Venom front. What kind of miles is everyone getting from their Venoms? I'm disappointed with the mileage on the rear. I'd like to run something with some tread in the center of the tire so wear will be more apparent. I'm thinking of switching to a different rear. What other tires work well with the Venom front?

Rear shock slop in top mount?
ragtop69gs replied to RSTDdog's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I'n m not trying to hijack this thread but, I'm in the process of doing the same thing to my 01 RSV. I have the relay arm out, connecting arms and will clean and lube bolts & bushings. I'm ready to remove the top shock bolt but I am unsure where to disconnect the shocks air line. I tried loosening the large nut near the shrader valve but it doesn't want to move, can I undo it at the shock? Also where does the large vent line go thats on the left side? -

Finding rooms there is a challenge, we wanted to stay another night but no rooms and we were staying in Lancaster.

Yes he did, they sat there empty handed through the whole raffle not winning a thing, I felt sorry for him and gave him some polishing wipes I won. That sorry feeling I had quickly vanished when they called his name for the trailer raffle. Congrats ELDR

We saw a brown 1st gen for sale on route 305 ( I think) on our way south from the WNY rally, it looked nice at 55 mph as we passed on our way to Hocking Hills area of Ohio. Traveling with Tomphil & Carbon One.

He was crop dusting us with Black Death from the northern rock, why do you think everyone was acting so silly? -
That shower was so large, I could see how something could be misplaced. Y'all probably had group showers in there !

It's not that we're trying to keep up, it's because old people on old bikes scare me so I tend to give them space. :rotfl:

Motels with AC, pools and showers win my vote. At the end of a long day riding the last thing I want to do is set up camp, cook and sleep on the ground
