  1. His name is Michael... he works there. I saw that one day and had to stop in myself. I invited him to drop in here for a visit, but can't tell if he ever has... nice lookin' bike and he dang near stole it from what he told me.
  2. Why Don't eggs taste like chicken??
  3. This is cool!!! [ame= ] [/ame]
  4. Thanks!!
  5. Anyone tell me where to find pics of a first gen w/o the trunk?? I have a friend that wants to see it...
  6. Hey Russ... maybe I can help here... If you don't mind me bragging on my wife. My wonderful wife Amber has made it a project to do just what you are talking about... except she sends over handmade cards - blank on the inside- for our troops to send back home. We even sent a box to Cliff while he was in the sandbox. To date she has sent nearly 16000 (YES, THATS 16 THOUSAND) cards and envelopes to our men and women overseas... if you have any names and addresses of troops that could use some cards to share with their units, I'm sure she'd be happy to send a box their way... if any of our members here want to participate in helping with her endeavor, she accepts donations on her paypal for supplies, postage and things like that.. We just recently bought 12000 envelopes to package along with the cards...

  8. I live in a small town in the desert southwest called Las Vegas NV... nothin' to do, nothin' to see... nobody ever visits here... just a sleepy lil town...
  9. Ok... so the computer module... Is that in the gauge cluster??
  10. This is my progress so far... Checked fuses...(updated blade type fuses) Replaced handlebar switches (and cleaned them prior to replacement).... checked the wiring to headlight... Next step is to replace the dash with a spare... but it all has to wait til I get home from work... man work sure takes a big chunk outta the day...
  11. Help! Yesterday morning on my way to work about an hour before sunrise... doing hand to hand combat with the cagers on the way to work... and my headlight and dash lights go out at the same time!! At least I still had my driving lights, but it made me nervous to say the least... Anyone have any ideas what may have caused it?? I guessed that maybe the starter swith might be going bad... so I changed it out last nite... no change! I'm stumped.
  12. Very nice... Congratulations!
  13. Well, I'm no genius... I found that I had 1 piece (a small plate) in the wrong spot and since I had stripped off the head of one of the pan head bolts the replacement had a bigger head. That combination caused the racket. All better now.
  14. I took off the chrome cover and the small plate inside the cover (around the shaft) was a bit looser than t seems like it oughta be. :bang head: Well, it looks like a bit more time tomorrow taking it apart... looking it over... and re-assembly. :bang head:
  15. Ok... I just changed out my stator on my 86. I get it back together, all buttoned up... and changed the oil while I'm at it... fire it up! Hmmmm... What's that knocking noise from the left crankcase cover?? I don't have any leftover parts, so any ideas??
  16. Can you ask him if he has a stator he could spare?? I need one of those.
  17. I've been looking for something like that as well... here http://www.webbikeworld.com/motorcycle-intercoms/interphone-bluetooth-intercom.htm is what I found that looks most promising (now to find the to get one...)
  18. What type bracket do I need to mount the RKs to a 1st Gen??
  19. I'm sure someone here would volunteer to help you out... anyone got a grinder?! Jack's head needs to be a size smaller!!
  20. There is a place (alot of them actually) that you can get the right angle LED bulbs... http://www.customdynamics.com/ is one of them I have bookmarked. I know some of the guys here have done the led replacements and I have swapped out my tail / brake light , I need to put in a resistor or something tho... the warning light on the dash comes on when I use the brakes.
  21. Several of the guys with answers are at Fort Collins... George S is brilliant when it comes to electrical stuff...
  22. Thank you thank you thank you... This place is the best! Any question asked is answered!!! I replaced the 'dash' with one from a parts bike on hand. The computer seems to be at fault here. Thanks again! Scott:scorched:
  23. I did the fuse block replacement a couple months ago...
