  1. Sorry to hear about the weather. It was 84 degrees here last Saturday and was 34 degress with snow and blizzard like conditions the very next morning. Get home safe.
  2. Congrats on the new bike. I really like my 05 RSTD. I stopped at Mike Whaley's today. Made me think of you. He had a 2007 Venture with 7,000 miles advertised. By the time I got there it was gone at a price of $10,000. Only one other used 07 Venture in our area at another dealer for $11,500. Enjoy the new bike.
  3. Hello: I installed Flanders pull back bars on my 05 RSTD. I really like them. They solved a horrible burning sensation at the base of my neck. I was able to install them by only rerouting the existing cables. Hopfully this is helpful to you?
  4. Keep me posted. I may try to attend also. If not maybe we can meet up along the way. I can offer suggestions on Lodging if anyone stays in our area.
  5. Kimball is my home town. Yes. Hail is a problem!
  6. I have been giving it some serious thought. Awful close to planned trip to Sturgis. Not sure I can do both?
  7. Hello Everyone: I am always interested in meeting other riders and making new friends. If your travels would happen to bring you through the extreme western end of Nebraska this season look us up. We have an excellant Yamaha dealer (Celli's Cycle Center) here in Scottbluff as well as many scenic attractions along the Oregon Trail. Take care..
  8. Does anyone have an 05 RSTD or newer that they want or need to sell? I may be looking for replacement for my recently damaged bike. If so send me a PM with the year, miles , location and asking price. Thanks in advance.
  9. Thanks for the hints.
  10. Neighoring storage units burnt down. Shared walls. Heavy smoke damage on all surfaces of the bike. Windshield, chrome, tank, seats. No heat or water damage. bike runs fine.
  11. I wish mine was white smoke instead of the soot type black stuff.
  12. Hello: Thanks for the info. I will look for another post tomorrow night.
  13. Does anyone have experience or thoughts with removing heavy smoke damage from a motorcycle? Thanks in advance.
  14. Hello: We are planning on our annual trip to the black hills. We are only 4 hours away in Western Nebraska. My wife wants to try staying closer to Sturgis in the early part of the rally. Possibly in a campground? We have reservations back in Custer on the 11th, 12 & 13th. Hope to meet a few of you. I also hope to attend the Cody Rally? Take care everyone..
  15. Hello Brian: Thanks for the Ipad info. We have had our wifi only ipad since Christmas. We really like it so far. Learn more every day. I hope to meet up with you in Bridgeport NE, on your travels to Sturgis some year. Take care...
  16. Hello Everyone: Experiencing a few above average days for March in western Nebraska. My wife actually asked to go ride yesterday. Rode two hours after work. Snow predicted for tonight. First poker run of the season is scheduled for this Sunday. (Weather permitting) Take care everyone.
  17. HEllo Icebrrg3rd: Glad you were not seriously hurt. Thanks for sharing. Not a nicer bunch of supporting members to help find parts. Heal up, fix up and get back on. Take care everyone..
  18. Hello Rick: Glad you are home safe. Interesting post. Intend on sending you my RSTD seat(s) when riding here in Nebraska is over. Take care...Mark
  19. You are correct. You can't keep a good man down. Neat that your bike went to a member of the terriffic VR family. I learned a long time a go to " Don't fall in love with anything that can't love you back". I lost my first touring machine to a crash 25 years ago. Finally back on now. And thankful for this wonderful on line community. Take care everyone....
  20. Thanks for posting this interesting story. Ride safe everyone.
  21. Hello: When you get near the black hills, give us a call. We are only 4 hours south, never know what we might do. I have a few contacts in the hills if you would need anything. Enjoy your ride.....
  22. Hello Everyone: My wife and I got away for the long weekend. Left our home in Western NE. rode to Saratoga Wyoming then on to Craig CO, Steamboat Springs, Walden, Fort Collins, Cheyenne WY and home. Approx 800 miles. Witnessed a seasoned motorcyclist drift too close to the edge of the blacktop on a curve in downtown Craig CO. His tires rolled into the 4" deep gutter at about 30 MPH. Nasty spill. All over in 15 seconds. Thanks to a full face helmet, leather coat and full finger gloves he walked away with only bruised knuckles. It could happen to anyone of us at anytime.
  23. Hello: Trust me you are not alone. I have several spare keys and still manage to get locked out occasionally. Just another chapter in the book of life. Good thing you have good neighbors. Someday maybe you can laugh about it?
  24. Hello Everyone: FYI, I just listed a 14" windshield and lower plastic pieces, that I resently took off of my 05 RSTD. It is less than one year old. I simply needed a bit taller windshield. I put on a 19.5 inch windshield. Let me know if anyone is interested. Thanks...
  25. Hello: I second your thoughts. So much valuable information from fellow riders!!!!!
