  7. Welcome to the site. I too want saddle bag top racks, but do not like the factory Yamaha rails. I tried a set of Harley racks, 4 rails wide with 4 feet. Did not fit as good a I would like. A bit too wide. I saw a set of racks on an RSV in Sturgis. They were 3 rails wide and had only 3 feet. They looked good, provided good coverage and still allowed room to work your key in the lock. I believe he told me they actually were Kawasaki Vulcan racks? I hope this helps. Let us know what you find.
  8. I agree. Listing stated 2 bars. The seller should make it right!!!! I have had only a few problems in over 400 transactions. I contacted the seller and got no response or one that I was not happy with so I filed a claim with ebay. But both times ebay made it right with me. I was pleased. Good luck with your claim. Keep us posted.

  12. When I first saw the news article on July 30th, I did not recognize the name of the rider. (Yesterday almost a month later I saw a benefit ride flyer at a local convienence store. I then realized that I did infact know the injured rider. Very fine local Plumber, nice guy! Word is he is still in the hospital, Serious but stable condition. Hoping to attend the benefit ride on Sept. 8th.
  13. Hello: While we were in Sturgis, Hannigan conversions had a Blue Black 07 RSV equipped with a sidecar. If I remember correctly the bike had only 1500 miles on it. Sharp looking unit. Asking price was $18,900.
  14. Hello Joe: Your finished painted to match trunk looks great!!!!!!
  15. VR member TDBiker was the member who had a Yamaha emblem made for his RSTD with the Harley trunk.
  16. Glad things are working out!
  17. Hello Mark: The only thing that matters is that you were both not hurt more seriously. I was in your exact position after my our of state wreck years ago. Bubber offered great advice. I too had to locate the wrecker service after I was able to get around about a week later. Some adjuster for Dairyland Insurance made it too my bike before I did. The bike was considered a total loss. The bike was a year old with 10,000 miles valued at 5500.00 at that time. The insurance company dragged the claim out for months. Offered me "Like" bikes all of which had thousands of more miles and less options, different colors. They never did find one even close to mine. The 3 mile tow and storage for a week was $750. I finally settled and it did not come out good in my favor. I vowed then that I would never ever do business with Dairyland Insurance. After raising my family I got back on about 6 years ago. I nearly lost my current bike in a storage unit fire a couple of years ago. I was very pleased with Farm Bureau Insurance and how well I was treated in regards to the fire damage claim. Good luck with yours.
  18. Thanks for keeping us posted. Glad your event went well. Nice tribute.
  19. Hello: Having access to this website and the wonderful members is the best insurance a biker can have. Members have the best knowledge of good dealers/parts new and used if you need them. 16 days of freedom. I am jealous. Keep us posted.
  20. Hello Everyone: My 05 Tour deluxe gets 40 mpg give or take a few miles. My fuel gauge begins flashing and counting up at 125-135 miles. I get nervous when that happens. Maybe I could stretch it another 40 miles, but I sure hate to push. My butt or bladder usually win the war anyway. I never pass a chance to top the tank off. Better safe than sorry.
  21. Glad you did not hit the turtle. My Stebel air horn turned a badger around on the way home from Sturgis.
  22. Hello: Great to not have to have a set schedule!! However if you can give us some advance notice. I suspect you will pass by us on your way south to I-80? We might be able to meet you for coffe or a meal. Maybe even ride with you for a short ways??
  23. Good luck. Keep us posted on your recovery.
